Christmas Day breakfast

What do you guys have for breakfast on Christmas Day?

We're going out for dinner so I'm planning a nice breakfast. We always have Bucks Fizz!

When we were kids it was always rasher sandwiches, but these days we do rashers every sunday (hurray for low carbing!) so it's not as much of a treat. I've been trying a succession of sweet carby things. I really like the idea of cinnamon rolls but I've never actually organised myself enough to do it; I think I'll give it a go this year (low carbing doesn't apply on christmas day). And chocolate. Always chocolate. DH used always get me a Terry's chocolate orange, but that'll have to be replaced with something less greasy and disgusting now that they've destroyed them.

Last year we had the jus roll cinnamon swirls and tea/coffee when we first woke up (6am) and then bacon sandwiches and Buck's Fizz at 9am with lunch served at 1pm

Fabricwitch · 27/08/2018 13:41

A small bowl of cereal and our tangerine from santa.

thismeansnothing · 27/08/2018 13:44

Decent smoked bacon, crusty white bread and butter to have butties. Helps create a good layer to soak the prosecco and cranberry juice

CheekyRedhead · 27/08/2018 14:00

Bucks fizz and jus rolled home baked croissants with whatever Christmas jam m&S do

Alanamackree · 27/08/2018 14:19

I also whip cream on the 23rd and freeze it in tiny Christmas tree moulds which is fun to add to piping hot, hot chocolate or coffee

I have to try this!

Inthetropics · 27/08/2018 14:38

Croissants with butter, homemade passion fruit juice, regular coffe, carrot cake with brigadeiro.

Inthetropics · 27/08/2018 14:41

This is a carrot cake with beigadeiro, a traditional brazilian cake.

My FB feed has been showing me a lot of Brazilian desserts recently. They all look amazing with their Dulce de leche type gooey sauces. 😍

This thread is wonderful!
We usually have smoked salmon scrambled eggs on English muffins and the kids have the same without the smoked salmon, a bit of crispy bacon too. But this thread has totally made me want to try something new! I love the frozen whipped cream hack and I've never thought of hot chocolate for breakfast - yum! 😍

goose1964 · 27/08/2018 20:16

Smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and bucks fizz, or cava or orange juice

HollyBollyBooBoo · 27/08/2018 20:28

Eggs Benedict, clementine juice, lots of lattes.

Mellridden · 27/08/2018 20:36

Bacon and Philadelphia bagles and bucks fizz

feemee · 27/08/2018 20:37

The kids can eat whatever they want which is normally a ton of sweets and chocolate before 7am.
Myself and Dh are a bit more civilised and have smoked salmon, scrambled eggs on bagels and a glass of Bucks Fizz.

Whatsthisbear · 27/08/2018 20:38

Croissants and bucks fizz

How the he'll have I got to 33 and not known about Christmas morning pancakes! It's a stroke of genius. My favorite holiday is Christmas and DH favorite holiday is Pancake Day.

This year is the first year ever we're staying home and having a family Christmas just the 4 of us so I think it's time to make a breakfast tradition!

I'm off to Google novelty Christmas frying pans.........

Last year was pastries but didn't quite do the trick for me. Thinking of trying the Christmas morning muffins and / or a bacon sandwich.

More importantly......

It will just be me and the baby - can I still have Buck's Fizz for breakfast?!

BikeRunSki · 27/08/2018 20:55

Coco Pops

ttlovelyt · 27/08/2018 20:58

I was feeling a little blu and this thread not only cheered me up but made me smile so much.

Boys go for a secret breakfast each year while I have fruit salad (place the larger amount in minted bowl for later) smoked salmon freshly baked bread and lots and lots of champs mixed with hibiscus.

Muddlewitch · 27/08/2018 21:02

@Leatherboundanddown Pigs in blankets rolls sound amazing! Can't believe I've never thought of doing that.

Tobebythesea · 29/08/2018 22:40

Boiled eggs with soliders washed down with buzz fizz. Followed by pieces of Terrys chocolate orange.

Tobebythesea · 29/08/2018 22:40

*bucks

QueenOfIce · 02/09/2018 04:17

Nothing, we'll be eating at 1pm this year very specific I'll pop the Turkey in early and hopefully if I've got myself organised and I'm fully prepped I'll go out for a walk clear my head and enjoy some peace before the madness!

MrsTerryPratchett · 02/09/2018 04:31

Eggs benny. Hollandaise care of DH (and Jamie Oliver). Frankly, it's why I keep him around.

You can also do Boxing Day Eggs Benny with turkey, Brussels, stuffing and hollandaise.
