L.o.l Bigger Surprise is reduced to 69.99 from 84.99 on Very

Haworthia · 20/10/2018 10:48

This thread has been an education. My children only seem to watch TV on demand so I haven’t seen a toy advert for months. Which is great, but does leave you out of the loop when it comes to new toys Smile

Seniorschoolmum · 20/10/2018 11:42

Haworthia I was just thinking the same. My ds has reached that pre-teen stage where toys are babyish, computer games are cool and clothes are not interesting yet. He had a new bike for his birthday. Heaven knows what he wants.....

janaus · 20/10/2018 12:13

Ohhhh, Australia here. We haven’t got Polly Pockets here yet. I’ve heard promised for Christmas. I remember them from the 80’s.
Are they somehow related to ‘Shopkins’.

BrisaOtonal · 20/10/2018 15:06

iTops.
Electronic spinning games, the new fidget spinners.
I have just been hassled to buy one and I think my DC has got in there early.

Darcey37 · 20/10/2018 18:09

Dd wanted Lol stuff but I've explained that they are so bad for the environment. Thankfully she has a conscience!
I cannot see how the government has cracked down on carrier bags but toys seem to be exempt???
I have seen what is inside those things and aside from the plastic problem I can't part with cash for this stuff. Power to you if you can!

Dermymc · 20/10/2018 20:16

This thread is depressing. When did kids become so damn demanding of over priced tat.

Petalflowers · 20/10/2018 20:47

Janus - can I have some advice for my nephew (aged six) and niece (aged four) inAustralia. What’s hot, and what’s not. Finglimgs? Unicorns? Can you suggest something?

janaus · 21/10/2018 01:34

Unicorns are the in thing, apparently, ask 8 y.o. Grand daughter. Also anything fairy. Fingerlings were impossible to get last year. But seen plenty around now. Don’t think my lot are that in to them.
Boys - Bey blades seem popular. Getting 2 young grand sons some Monster Jam trucks.

janaus · 21/10/2018 01:37

Of course, LOL doll things are flying out the doors. My daughter found Bigger Surprise, whatever that is. More packaging I expect.

I’ll look when I’m in the shops, can’t think of the names. Little dolls that come in a bath?

wonderandwander · 21/10/2018 08:07

Rainbocorns
Hatchimal peacat

I must have missed something. I haven't seen any posters saying their kids have "demanded" anything Confused

JustJoinedRightNow · 21/10/2018 12:26

I’m loving this thread! I absolutely love buying toys for my kids. Have two DS’ but am loving hearing what the girls are all into this year. Good ideas for birthday presents for family and friends

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 21/10/2018 15:58

Baby shark toys

Cutesbabasmummy · 22/10/2018 11:23

Following for ideas!

HighwayDragon1 · 22/10/2018 12:33

DD now has a wrapple and a pomsie, after I bought a wrapple in Sainsbury's forgetting that she had a pomsie in the wardrobe.

She's not asked for a poopsie, if she does she won't be getting it. She has asked for LOL so has a wrap, confetti and pet. Need to get a glitter and little sister, was going to buy the pearl surprise but you get more buying the balls.

HairyToity · 22/10/2018 12:34

For us the hard to get toys - hatchimals, fingerlings etc. never get played with. I have learnt to avoid them.

I agree with an earlier poster there is too much plastic waste from lol dolls.

BlueOooChristmas · 22/10/2018 13:34

We had one fingerling in our house and it got all of 2 minutes play before being chucked in the toy box. To be fair, it doesn't do much I can see why they kids didn't care about it.

The hatchimal was amazing until it came out of the egg and then it was as dull as ditchwater. I quite like the look of the hatchibabies though, they look to have a bit more play in them. Still quite a price tag for a gamble.

I'm secretly delighted that Grandparents have offered to buy Poopsie.

Breadfoam · 22/10/2018 17:44

Hatchimals are played with endlessly by my nearly 3 year old. Not the big ones though, the tiny little ones. Those and shopkins get loads and loads of play. I know it is plastic tat but it doesn’t matter, I got two hours of peace today thanks to shopkins!

MinisterforCheekyFuckery · 22/10/2018 17:50

Bread my DD(5) plays with the Hatchimal colleggtibles for hours too. Have brought her the Hatchimals Nursery playset this year so hoping she'll get a lot of use out of it.

nocutsnobuttsnococonuts · 22/10/2018 20:06

bread and minister I'm glad the hatchimals are popular with yours, how old are your children if you don't mind me asking? I just bought a bundle off Facebook - the nursery and over 120 figures for £20 for dd2 who's 6 and loves shopkins. I got a pack of the new series in the Sainsbury's sale so dd has a few of the eggs to hatch.

I've got a pomsies luna, wrapple and rainbocorn in my cupboard and dds haven't asked for any of them!! They both have asked for another sodding fingerling!!

PodgeBod · 23/10/2018 08:32

Does anybody else get irritated with Rainbocorns, Poopsie ect urging kids to "collect them all" while also pushing the surprise angle? It's not like they're a cheap little toy Confused

HighwayDragon1 · 23/10/2018 09:58

Podge that's the point, they've got parents over a barrel. £50 toy in a blind bag, buy as many as you can to see if you can collect them all. Angry

choli · 23/10/2018 17:22

that's the point, they've got parents over a barrel.

They don't have parents over a barrel - nobody has to buy this type of crap. They choose to buy it.

snowmanshoes · 23/10/2018 19:00

My dd7 loves the tiny hatchimals (colleggtibles?) too and so I'm getting her a few of the new series for Christmas.
