Mrsmadevans · 13/08/2018 16:31

Ahhh thank you all for the warm wishes for my DD2 birthday Flowers
I have just come home from taking my mum to have 3 teeth out and a filling and bottom dentures fitted. To be fair to her she was such a stoic bless her, l am not sure l would have been quite as brave !
Bought DD2 a coffee travel mug, a bottle of wine , chocolates, Delia Smith book of cakes, Candy perfume, make up organiser & assorted stuff in the bottom of her bag of pressies, like fake tan mittens lol . I gave her money as well and paid for her and her 2 BF to go for a meal tonight. I went a bit OTT tbh but ahhh well it is only money and l just wanted to treat her & her friends who are all skint lol Xmas Grin
When ours were little they had one of those plastic red cars which they loved. Their kitchen was from ELC we bought a great amount of stuff from there . I suppose it was in its hay day then.

Hello Christmas people! (plonks down with a rustle amongst the tinsel) 😊
Massive festive congrats to @BakewellGin1 and @December2018 🎄😘
My Christmas baby will be 6 on Dec 18th. Still remember that Christmas as the best ever!
Currently ttc DC2 - first month of trying.
We got back from taking MIL to the airport at 8.30 yesterday morning and spent all day snuggled in duvets with the patio doors open watching all the rain - Very lovely and wintery 😍🍂🍁🍃 I definitely feel the countdown has begun! ☃️❄️🌟🎄

TheWoollybacksWife · 13/08/2018 17:05

Very. Important. Announcement.

StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar

Tesco has got tubs of Heroes and Celebrations in store. I don't buy them. We buy other wrapped chocs and I reuse a Heroes tub

MyPatronusIsABadger · 13/08/2018 17:08

woolly that is VERY exciting news indeed

flapjackfairy · 13/08/2018 17:20

To update from previous thread I am still stuck in hospital with youngest who needs another 5 days of IV antibiotics before we can finally go home so my Christmas spirit has waned a bit the last few days Been in 2 weeks now so all holidays cancelled and all school holiday plans gone out the window.
But there is a definite nip in the air which is reminding me that autumn is nearly upon us. I just can't wait for the dark nights and being able to snuggle up in warm PJ's and slippers with a lovely Christmassy candle burning away . Ah bliss. Best time of the year by far.

FurForksSake · 13/08/2018 17:22

I just booked Waddesdon tickets, that feels really early. I am very tempted to go and get some Heroes.

FurForksSake · 13/08/2018 17:24

Please remind me that I am only buying Christmas junk to come in the shop that will arrive on the last day before the end of term. Usually I start stashing stuff from now and then I eat all through January. Not this year. I am going to make more home-made treats (I make excellent fudge and give it away, this year I am doing a tin for us!) and stop stretching the celebrating beyond Christmas /NYE weeks.

Mrsmadevans · 13/08/2018 17:30

Ahhh Flapjack you are not still in Hosp with your DS . I am so sorry my dear Flowers Bless you both my dear

flapjackfairy · 13/08/2018 17:36

Yes Mrs still here !.
But he is on the mend v glad to say and I will sleep in my own bed again one day ( or night ! Or possibly both as sleep deprivation is taking its toll now)
Thanks for the message x

Mrsmadevans · 13/08/2018 17:40

Thank God he is on the mend Flapjack , it must seem like an eternity no matter how kind everyone is , hospital life sucks big time.
Flowers & Wine GALORE!

CrazyBaubles · 13/08/2018 17:42

Oh flapjack that's completely rubbish. Does it mean he's on the mend though? I have my fingers crossed for you 🤞

I am still on holiday. It 32 degrees today. I wouldn't dare say it to DH who's enjoying himself immensely but I want to be home and feel the cold

We spent a lot of time in the car today (& crossed a border which took ages) and as it has AC I started to crochet a baby crown as requested by SIL for newborn niece. That made me feel slightly more festive...

CrazyBaubles · 13/08/2018 17:44

Cross post with you flapjack as signal is rubbish here.

Focus on the next 4 hours, then the 4 hours after that etc. Get someone to bring you coffee and the GH Xmas mag to read while DS sleeps.

NoWordForFluffy · 13/08/2018 17:49

I'm glad he's on the mend, Flapjack. It must've been scary for you. I hope you're both home and in your own beds soon.

Cheaper than Amazon, Wreck? 🤔

I hope your mum is OK after the teeth / dentures, Mrs. Even small things can take a massive toll on the elderly. I hope your DD has a lovely night!

I have my x-ray tomorrow night. At least I'm progressing forwards!

Redgreencoverplant · 13/08/2018 17:51

Oh no sorry to hear that flapjack, really hope you are both home soon.

Seafoodeatit · 13/08/2018 18:10

I'm really sorry to hear that flapjack I hope the next couple of days fly past and you can all go home.

Japril · 13/08/2018 18:10

Happy birthday PSB and i’m Glad your son is on the mend flapjack. I have been laid up all day with a stomach bug. The kids have been brilliant and played really nicely together, I was feeling smug. The dh got home to discover they had painted a picture (and the floorConfused). We move house on Friday so this is not good! I have been up to try and help clean the floor but am now back in bed feeling sorry for myself.

BakewellGin1 · 13/08/2018 18:27

Flapjack Glad your DS is on the mend. Hospital stays are the worst.
Woolly I can't buy Heroes or Celebrations as the will last 0.1 seconds in here Blush
Japril Fingers crossed you pick up soon !!
Christina Thank You x

Mrsmadevans · 13/08/2018 18:55

Ahh thank you Fluffy, just phoned up now and Mum is doing ok , told her to eat her trifle now and then have her dinner a bit ltr , to see how she gets on with the trifle first bless her.
Am so glad you are having your xray tomoz , DH is awaiting the results then he is being marched off to get a cortisone injection in his shoulder asap !
DD2 just gone to her meal out , she will enjoy it l am sure , she dolled herself up enough for it anyway heehee !

Mrsmadevans · 13/08/2018 18:56

PSB we had chicken stir fry tonight Wink and DD2 birthday cakey ..
Hope you had a good day m'dear

Mrsmadevans · 13/08/2018 18:58

Woolly l am definitely not going to buy Heroes or anything else remotely fattening this side of Christmas , l have not got rid of all the Christmas food from last year yet [shook] nor the extra pounds l gained from it !!

flapjackfairy · 13/08/2018 19:03

Oh thanks for lovely messages
We have taken to the sensory room and are listening to some chilled out Celtic music and dozing on and off. Little chance of sleep on the ward . The child opposite had about 10 relatives round his bed!.
Oh bring back the Hattie Jacques style matrons I say to impose some order !
I did actually find a Christmas cd and was tempted but resisted incase I am quietly sectioned . Not everyone is as mad as us you know ! Grin

Seafoodeatit · 13/08/2018 19:11

I hope they're enforcing visiting hours at least? way too many visitors was always my biggest pet peeve on the postnatal ward. I'd speak to reception otherwise, it's a hospital not a cafe! they can loiter in the communal room if they want that many people surely.

flapjackfairy · 13/08/2018 19:36

There were about15 when I got back !
