Another that was me! Do you have a pic? So glad it inspired you Xmas Smile

PSB your meals always sound so tasty and exciting

We had a roast today (cooked by me - it was lovely) and got on top of the housework and work is about to get a lot busier and DH is back tomorrow (teacher).
I'm oddly feeling very un-festive. I think it's stress, I'm potentially applying for a promotion in work while also considering if I want to push my career or change it completely. All the thinking is making my head hurt.

Going to bed now. Can't believe we're going to need thread 6 soon. I just checked - last thread ended on 11th August so this thread won't last a full month at this rate!

PhilomenaButterfly · 03/09/2018 04:31

Thanks Crazy. I like cooking. 😆

Morning! Trying to get some chill out time before DS2 wakes up. In bed drinking coffee. Brew

Morning!

Went back on the cross trainer today. Almost killed me as you lose the type of stamina you need for it quite quickly. Should be back up to 30 mins next week at some point though (I did 20 today).

Off to work soon. I've got a trial today, though I'm not going as it's a bit too far and I'm only in 3 days this week too.

Chucking it down now, though we installed a water butt this weekend, so I'm looking forward to it filling! And it saves me going to water at the allotment. 😂

I'd go for the promotion, Crazy. You can still change jobs later if you want!

Mrsmadevans · 03/09/2018 07:45

Morning all Smile
Good luck and love to all the DC going back to school and attending for the first time today or this week. Bless you all including the parents , it is not easy. l can remember like it was yesterday Flowers

Mrsmadevans · 03/09/2018 07:56

Fluffy . It sounds as if those tablets are doing a great job thank goodness , great that you only have 3 days in this week too. Any news re the job?
Crazy l am another voice for the promotion , l had to make this decision , promotion or another career [teaching] but it meant 3 years of Uni and the uncertainty of income and no guarantee of a job at the end of it . So l went for the stats quo, l am very glad l did , it was the right decision for my family , not what l really wanted to do though . Weigh it all up and then decide , Good luck Flowers

NoWordForFluffy · 03/09/2018 08:00

I didn't apply for the one I was going to last week as I couldn't be bothered with the questions in the application! I have an interview for another job on Friday.

The tablets are really working, yes. Thank god! I feel so much more rested. And not in as much persistent pain. How's your DH getting on?

DS starts school this week, hence only doing 3 days instead of my usual 4.

PhilomenaButterfly · 03/09/2018 08:11

Mine don't go back until Wednesday Mrs. 😆

DS2 starts in KS2, he has to wear a tie and I have to pay for his lunch! Shock Also, his teacher gives them a project every holiday. 😭

BiddyPop · 03/09/2018 08:19

Morning all, we had a busy weekend - dh cleared the ivy off the back wall and fixed and repainted the shed (again) - we think it will be replaced next time. He had to go to the dump with the green waste as there was so much.

And I got a few other (fairly big) declutrering jobs done, including my dressing table and wash bags organizing after the chaos of the last few months! I could see wood again on the top!

Another day at work today - my coach gives me the results of my 360 review (eek!) but boss is away so I can get a lot off my desk in the peace. Dd is up and ready for school - she’s a different child in the new school. And dh is almost back to normal after his holiday illness. But we all need a few more slightly relaxed weekends!

Mrsmadevans · 03/09/2018 08:24

Fluffy am so pleased the tablets are giving you relief. The job must not have been the one or else you would have been answering those questions with alacrity Smile. DH is getting there nearly better , fingers crossed, he is and l am making sure he is being very careful what he does re the heavy work. He has really been injured for over 6 months and it hasn't been pleasant as you can imagine.
PSB Yah Boo Sucks to paying for DS lunch! Can't he have sarnies ?
Mine were awful, they went out to the cafes and chip shops in the town and my Parents , my Sister and brother all live in Crickhowell so they used to roll up there at random times Xmas Grin. They weren't stupid !

Mrsmadevans · 03/09/2018 08:26

Biddy that sounds like a very productive weekend well done! Great news your DD is happier in her new school such a relief for you all. Xmas Grin

Nofilter · 03/09/2018 08:31

Hello Ladies!

Delurking. Inspired by TOMM to split down gifts to buy into XX weeks and have it all done by December 1st.

I'm looking for a fairly realistic farm for my DD, we live on a farm/equestrian property. She has the Breyer range (it's all quite realistic and scaled down.)

Found a few brands but wondered if anyone had seen anything on offer as will be her main gift.

TIA

DeltaG · 03/09/2018 08:33

Schleich for farms! They have a huge range including things like cow sheds and milking equipment. It's really popular here in Switzerland.

AnotherShirtRuined · 03/09/2018 08:47

I second Scheich for farms. They are pricey, though.

Crazy I will post a picture later Smile I'm on the excercise bike right now...

Heavystream · 03/09/2018 09:34

Morning all, last day with my Arthur before school!. Then hopefully everything starts to get back into a routine. I’ve loved having my boys for the 6 weeks but I do like a proper routine.

AnotherShirtRuined · 03/09/2018 09:54

@CrazyBaubles My Santa's washing line

PhilomenaButterfly · 03/09/2018 10:00

Compulsory school lunches Mrs control freaks. Hmm

NoWordForFluffy · 03/09/2018 10:38

They can't insist on that, PB, not at all. I'm amazed they get away with it

Redgreencoverplant · 03/09/2018 10:57

Ooh compulsory school meals is a plot in a Doctor Who episode where a chemical in the chips makes the children super intelligent which enables the aliens to use them as a super computer to break a code that would give them control of the universe. Clearly that is what the school are doing PB! Grin

CrazyBaubles · 03/09/2018 11:29

@AnotherShirtRuined that's amazing!! You put my wonky creations to shame Blush Am stealing the scarf idea from you though!

Seafoodeatit · 03/09/2018 11:29

Mine starts in KS2 too, It feels weird paying for lunches all of a sudden but thankfully he loves school dinners.

anothershirt that's a very cute washing line :) .

biddy Good luck with your review, I'm glad to hear your dd is happier at her new school.

CrazyBaubles · 03/09/2018 11:31

Also, thanks for the advice. Funnily enough MrsMad it's teaching that I'm considering but it's a huge step and I've worked hard to get where I am, and it would be a considerable pay drop too, not to mention the bartering our savings would take for tuition fees and the drop in earnings for the time I would be studying.

Ah well. I will likely go for promotion anyway to be honest - it won't be up for grabs until December I wouldn't have thought so I have time

CrazyBaubles · 03/09/2018 11:32

And on to thread 6!!!! (Link posted a few posts up)
