Crazy Baubles my DSis has no DC of her own and she absolutely worships her nieces and nephews bless her. They love her very, very much too. I never had to worry about what would happen to them if l died , l knew she would step in for me and look after them like her own.

You only had one horrible night, PSB?! I'm jealous. DS was a godawful sleeper for absolutely ages. It's only recently that he's stopped joining us for most nights at some point in the middle of the night!

Though, to give them their dues, they go to bed when told and generally go out like lights once they've had a story. Thank god. I like my evening to myself.

My two love a good torch!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 12/08/2018 20:43

That's true Mrs! I think it's because of the time I set his bedtime, although, even if I set it for 6 he goes straight to sleep, but wakes up at 4.30! 😴😴😴😴😴😴

I've been very lucky with all of mine Fluffy, I've no idea what I did! Confused

AnotherShirtRuined · 12/08/2018 20:52

Mrsr8 I'm going to IKEA some time next week. I wonder if they still have torches? I'll definitely have a look. It's a shame it's too early in the year for any of their Christmas stuff, though.

So excited to have discovered a Christmas topic!

Please may I join.Grin

AnotherShirtRuined · 12/08/2018 21:06

Wreck It's a great age, I find, to involve the DCs in the actual planning of Christmas related crafts and activities as they are just so enthusiastic unlike DH. DD in particular loves getting involved and quite often comes up with some great ideas for crafty projects.

It's also great fun to think up new - to us - Christmas traditions together as a family, and we have been starting new ones every year for the part couple of years. Nothing major, just a walk around the village to see the Christmas lights with a thermos of hot chocolate and similar.

AnotherShirtRuined · 12/08/2018 21:09

Mrsr8 I'll keep my eyes peeled, thanks Smile Oh, and we already have the IKEA pen and paper Grin

Onwithsocks · 12/08/2018 21:13

Oh, can I join in? I have booked a Santa home visit for my children today and put a date in the diary for our old friends’ Christmas do.
Am loving the chill in the air!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 12/08/2018 21:17

Hello to all the new people! 😆

Onwith what's a Santa home visit?

FurForksSake · 12/08/2018 21:19

Hello! I am back, though I might have name changed since I was last here... it has been ages.

Might make some salt dough with the kids this week and make tree decorations!

SassitudeandSparkle · 12/08/2018 21:23

I am in, I have been eyeing up a light-up cushion and sofa throw/blanket in the Avon offers leaflet Grin Love Christmas!

WickerHippo · 12/08/2018 21:30

The boys have just got into bed, we ordered the Christmas trees today and we’ve made them write their Christmas lists. We make them write another one too, closer to Christmas. But we’ll start buying some things from the first list now. All three of them are sound asleep so I’m just feeding Fred. He’s a week old today! It’s gone so quick! He’s getting so chubby as well. Hope you all have a lovely night

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 12/08/2018 22:01

DD will go to bed at 11. 😴

Mrsmadevans · 12/08/2018 22:08

When we were little many moons ago we used to write our Santa letters and send them up the chimney to Father Christmas . It was a lit fire too but the letter always went up the chimney as if by magic. We thought Father Christmas was waiting on the roof to catch it Xmas Smile that was a lovely memory that l have just remembered from the mention of your DC doing their letters Xmas Smile

SassitudeandSparkle · 12/08/2018 22:10

I used to write letters on toilet paper and send them up the chimney (real fire, obviously) as a child, I used to dash out and expect to see them floating upwards!

Mrsmadevans · 12/08/2018 22:11

Did you ever see them Sass? Xmas Grin
