We have a wicker skirt for the tree, pretty similar to matalan one - it's the one I was originally going to get but was either sold out or unavailable last year can't remember which.

Crazy I was v shy before teaching and hated reading aloud. However, when I am teaching, I am not 'me', I have a teaching persona. DS saw me teaching once and said it was strange because I wasn't the me he knew. Please pm me for more info or if you would like to visit my school.

Wide awake at 5:30am, desperately thirsty. Knew we shouldn’t have ordered that pizza last night!
We’re heading off on holiday today, which feels weird because the weather has been very ‘autumnal’ this week and I’ve got my head well and truly into Christmas planning.
Heading to Norfolk so I’ve had to pack everything from sun-hats to waterproofs!!

I do love these Christmas boards, no-one I know in real life is willing to discuss Christmas in August, but I’ve already written a list of presents to buy, booked a Santa train, and bought some outdoor lights. DH will thank me for it later, I’m sure...

I fell asleep at 08:15 last night after an exhausting week so feeling all refreshed for the weekend. Weather doesn't look great however so I imagine softplay will be involved.

Constantly I have been put off teaching my the experience of two of my friends who found the hours unbearable (working into the evenings and during the holidays) and have both ended up on ADs. It sounds as though you have a very different experience however?

Enjoy your holiday Farrah. Difficult to know what to pack, isn't it? We went away during the heatwave and had amazing weather in North Yorks. We had an awful wet holiday in Scotland last year though!

I am monumentally fed up ! Oh but I have just see the mincing reindeer ! I needed a good laugh !.it has cheered me up no end . As has hearing about everybody's news and Christmas musings .
If anyone else has any Christmas decoration related hilarity it will be greatly received .

I also fancy one of the throws and the Santa cups for the dc. Does everyone have a Christmas dinner set? I would love one, but DH would not be impressed!!

constantly sorry to hear your dd didn't get her place, I'm sure it will all work out in the end but it will be tough for her to see that just now. That's interesting about you retraining as a teacher, I'm really considering this myself but there is a bit of fear of making such a big change!

I have found an old notebook which has become the official Christmas 2018 planner. So all my ideas for presents, recipes and activities are going into it. I'm also going to try the Christmas countdown clean house thing - I never usually get past week 4 🤣🤣
so going to use planner to keep me motivated.

So have I lost! Just need to wait for pay day...

As soon as tins of chocolates are on offer I'll be buying some. I've got lots of paper from last year and we've quite a few cards the children can use for school. I like to handmake cards for my children and mum. There's a Christmas tree farm nearby and I might go and choose one next month. I left it too late last year and struggled to get one. The Christmas tree is the best part of Christmas preparations for me. It has to be just so. I need new outdoor lights this year as the olds ones had lots of dud bulbs. My 9 and 11 year old still believe in Father Christmas which is great because I do too

Evening all. I’ve been suffering a bit today as I went out with Work last night!

Went brambling with DS today, with the intention of making crumble tomorrow - nothing! Looks as though the bushes have suffered from the lack of rain. There weren't even berries forming on most bushes

Firefly, Formby woods were like that; it was awful. Down the allotment is heaving with berries though. We're going tomorrow with the kids as they can go berrying while I do more productive stuff!

I thought the brambles were early this year?

We've got loads of blackberries near us this year. Wet winter followed by lots of sun has been great for berries. Never seen as many.

Oh it was a fab night. We finished at a bar at 2am with a bottle of champagne courtesy of my workmate!
