Morning! In bed drinking coffee and listening to the latest FT news courtesy of Google Assistant, the DC are still asleep. 😆📻😋☕

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 15/08/2018 06:28

Sky Sports news now. 😆

NoWordForFluffy · 15/08/2018 06:32

I love Danny too, Firefly. I hope you're OK; being sick isn't good.

I don't know the vlogger they've announced. But I'm not down with the kids! 😂

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 15/08/2018 06:41

Never heard of the vlogger, if he doesn't play Minecraft or Pokemon, we don't watch him. Markiplier's popular in this house at the moment.

Lallypopstick · 15/08/2018 06:43

Morning all. It's another morning with an autumnal feel here. I'm feeding the baby and starting to think about Christmas baking. In previous years I've made a Christmas pudding but might make a cake this year. Anything that lets me start Christmas early!

NoWordForFluffy · 15/08/2018 06:47

We don't like Christmas cake or pudding here. I tend to do all of my baking at the last minute. But, now I don't work on Fridays I'll be able to do more mince pies throughout December!

It's nice to have the time to do more, isn't it?

Our two are too young for either of those, PSB. I've no idea who that is either! We're still on Ryan and all the other toy demonstrators. Mostly for Batman Lego items!

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 15/08/2018 08:07

Had chocolate pancakes, watching Talking Tom. 😋🍫🐈🐱

FurForksSake · 15/08/2018 08:29

I haven't made a Christmas cake for years, but this year I am going to. Just a small one, I think not too alocholic so might leave it late. I want one the kids can eat but is a fruit cake. Maybe I'll ice a dundee? I love making mincemeat and pudding, I'll do the mincemeat soon, I best start saving jars!

AnotherShirtRuined · 15/08/2018 09:08

This thread moves so quickly!

I'm feeling very inspired by all the talk of Christmas baking Smile I think the DCs and I will attempt our very first ginger bread house this year. Should be a fun Christmas activity if I can find a good recipe.

Mrsmadevans · 15/08/2018 09:13

Morning Smile
Fluffy. l don't know Joe or Vick but l know the rest of the contestants so far and l really like Katie Piper , she is such an inspiring young woman. To think she was so horribly attacked and disfigured yet she has not let it make her bitter , or hide away, so it seems . l think she is just awe inspiring . I think l have my favourite already Xmas Grin
DHs GP has ordered the physio and the Cortisone injection before the xray results have come back , l am not too concerned because he seems to know what he is doing , they will be back before the physio and injection though. l think he must be very experienced in seeing these injuries tbh , they must see patients with them every week l think. It seems an incredibly common injury . You, my DH , Firefly Girl , l think there were others here too if l remember rightly. Didn't Woolly & Biddy have it too or was it Sprout or all of them!
Firefy l hope you are feeling better my dear , my Dad sucks on crystallised ginger for nausea he swears by it .
PSB lunch yest sounded lovely , l think you may have solved my Christmas present for my DGN , LEGO e - gift , YES!!
Fur, l bought DD2 Delia's book of cakes and she said she is going to do us a Christmas cake from it ....YAY!!!
Better get moving , up to the parents this morning take mum to hairdressers and sort everything out , lady coming for a hearing appt for mum later .
Have a good day everyone Grin

FurForksSake · 15/08/2018 09:18

I did Mary Berry Ginger bread house last Christmas, that worked well. You print out the templates and then cut round them.

AnotherShirtRuined · 15/08/2018 09:24

Thanks for the suggestion, Fur. I think I've found it www.bbc.com/food/recipes/mary_berrys_gingerbread_91126

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 15/08/2018 09:24

Mrs it's pointless getting DS1 anything else for birthdays or Christmas! I've said I daren't buy him Lego, as I don't know what he's got, he's got £1000's worth! He'll just use the card in part payment for his regular online order, as he's not very mobile. I must email him to tell him actually. He's not great at looking at his phone Hmm, but he's always on his laptop.

AnotherShirtRuined · 15/08/2018 09:25

Oh and I love your tablecloth Grin

FurForksSake · 15/08/2018 09:43

That's the badger! We had great fun sticking sweets to it and making it garish.

I had a frozen shoulder and had it operated on last August. Touch wood the joint is moving freely still although I still have bicep pain which I'm starting to believe is due to holding my phone Blush #21stcenturyinjury

I had 2 cortisone injections while I was waiting for my op and I had no idea that I wouldn't be able to have a third. Thank goodness it wasn't needed.

I don't know what I'll be baking this year apart from the mini gingerbread houses. I usually make my DM a cake but she is quite ill and not really eating. I'm the only one that eats Christmas cake here and DH is the only one that eats Christmas pudding so not much incentive to do festive fruit dishes. I may make some sort of chocolate dessert but that'll be a Christmas Eve job.

Seafoodeatit · 15/08/2018 10:24

I'm lazy and just the gingerbread kit from IKEA! fur that looks really good! :)

I bake gingerbread men, shortbread, apple tarts and mince pies, I'd love to make a small christmas pudding but it'd have to be teeny as only DC1 and DH eat it so far, not sure on the youngest.

AnotherShirtRuined · 15/08/2018 10:49

That looks like so much fun Fur!

JurassicGirl · 15/08/2018 12:18

That looks great Fur we made one last year (from a pack) & the kids had so much fun it's going to happen every year now 😀

FireflyGirl · 15/08/2018 12:21

I've wiled away my morning watching Jamie Oliver Christmas cookery programmes on More4. Still feel grotty Sad

I'm running a temperature, but had to close the windows as we live quite rurally and the farmers are muck spreading... 😷

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 15/08/2018 12:29

We used to live over the road from a mixed pig and arable farm Firefly, nothing smells as bad as pig poo! 😷 The plus was that we used to get very cheap legs of pork for our freezer!

NoWordForFluffy · 15/08/2018 13:08

Oh it does, I'll take your pig poo and raise you the maggot farm (and its workers) near where I used to work in Nottingham. And the Pork Farms factory, also Nottingham.

SideOrderofSprouts · 15/08/2018 13:12

Sprouts, how are our babies going to be 3?! It feels insane. Gabe is still in a cot, might get a bed for Christmas!

FireflyGirl · 15/08/2018 15:36

I've watched 5 programmes now, in between snoozing. He's made roast potatoes in every.single.one. Guess what I'm craving now!!
