Eolian - you have the distinct advantage of having 2 DC that like the same expensive main present - lots of people aren’t in this position

Well yes, but we don't normally buy them a joint present. They normally get 2 or 3 presents each, totalling around £50.

Well yes, but we don't normally buy them a joint present. They normally get 2 or 3 presents each, totalling around £50.

We wouldn’t have known that from your first post. And you don’t know what anyone on this thread “normally” does, what their budget is, how much they buy throughout the year etc. People have different circumstances and choose to do things differently. Sometimes even from one year to the next.

There may be a good argument for less is more, just as I’m sure there is an argument for not buying gaming consoles, but I don’t know if a thread where people are sharing what they’ve already purchased for their children with some sense of excitement is the place to raise it?

For my 5 month old so far I’ve got the following-

Stocking-

  • My first Christmas baby grows and bibs
  • Christmas books
  • Santa plate

Presents-

  • Bright beats robot thing
  • sensory balls
  • Rattle
  • train set
  • wooden plane
  • Toy eggs
  • toy tablet
  • Bean bag
  • Outfits x 3
-Workbench and tools -Mega Bloks

My friends and family are getting him toys too so I don’t want to go overboard, as space is an issue but I’m wondering if I’m being too stingy? It’s his birthday in July so I’m thinking he can get more developmental stuff then rather than it just sitting upstairs not used for a few months. Don’t want to buy him many clothes as planning on going to Xmas sales!
