I’m looking for ideas. What’s everyone doing?

Bagels with smoked salmon and cream cheese. Nice and simple, no cooking, just the bagels to toast.

Lots of lovely ideas 😀 I'm thinking of scrambled eggs with bits of crispy bacon on top for everyone, hot training, fresh oj and a pastry, or maybe cinnamon bun (best place to get them?)

Hot tea ☕

For all you having bagels, which store has good ones? Not just "bread with a hole" as I like to call it, but genuinely good ones. I'm even tempted to head to Golders Green in London to get some.

Love this thread.

Anyone making cinnamon buns have a good recipe?

We usually have panettone, warmed in the oven, but last year was a game changer as we made panettone bread and butter pudding. I think it will have to be repeated!

Usually I drink a lot of Buck's Fizz... but this year it's another sober Christmas (pregnant).

Esker · 30/11/2017 19:49

JingMahsBucket I can recommend the Cricklewood Bagel Bakery on Cricklewood Broadway. It's quite near Golders Green, just a bit west.

Venison steak and eggs for us!

naturallysparkling · 30/11/2017 21:49

Pork Pie here .. thought we were the only oddballs but no ! I'm happy to see there are others ... with a massive mug of tea and mustard of course...

Fffion · 30/11/2017 22:06

Coffee, bacon rolls -nothing special.

JingsMahBucket · 01/12/2017 21:04

@Esker thank you!

Well my brother usually cooks eggs, bacon, sausages and beans. Plus toast. Everyone helps themselves and h makes salad - he is from the med and salad with cooked eggs is normal there. No one has to stuff themselves - just eat what they fancy. Lunch is later than usual and we are the kind of family who go for half a plate of different veg then add the rest. Pudding is even later.

MrsPear · 01/12/2017 21:47

Oh and every year my brother has been in charge of breakfast my mum and I always smile and say they were wrong!

  • he has sn and was written off.
EvilDoctorBallerinaRoastDuck · 01/12/2017 21:47

I suspect toast and chocolate spread. My DC wouldn't eat anything fancy.
