I’m looking for ideas. What’s everyone doing?

Eggs Royale for me, Benedict for DH and scrambled eggs for DD. I usually try to cook just one meal, but at Christmas everybody gets their favourite!

elQuintoConyo · 28/11/2017 21:30

Pancakes. I'll make them in the Gingerbread Man frying pan DS is getting in his stocking Grin

We don't cook breakfast. I hate fish and champagne/cava.

Lunch will be light and healthy, Christmas Dinner at 6pm with the twinkly lights on.

Pork Pie with fresh rolls for us! Weird I know but a family tradition

CakeNinja · 28/11/2017 21:39

Smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and bagels/toast.
My dc have this as a weekday breakfast, it's not a special one, but we will all sit and eat this together which we don't usually do during the week!
No fizzy for us until guests arrive otherwise I'd need a lie down midmorning Grin
We don't have our Christmas dinner until around 4/5 so no worries about 'fitting it all in'.

GoingRogue · 28/11/2017 21:40

@elQuintoConyo a gingerbread man frying pan? That sounds amazing! Where did you get it please?

MonumentalAlabaster · 28/11/2017 21:43

I'm with you WhimsicalTart
It's all about the fizz!

Jasminedes · 28/11/2017 21:44

Toblerone coffee and toast probably

DeepPileTinsel · 28/11/2017 21:45

Maybe eggs benedict. Probably just a boring healthy breakfast though to allow for the onslaught later on.

DC normally have their usual porridge/weetabix, but DS has been hinting about having pancakes and as it's the first time he's done so I might give in.

I've said the kids can have their stocking chocolate this year! 🙈😁

We will have bacon sandwiches while the kids unwrap their presents.

goose1964 · 28/11/2017 21:50

Early breakfast mince pies and tea or coffee, later breakfast smoked salmon with scrambled eggs and but is fizz

Jenni2legs · 28/11/2017 21:50

I might make cinnamon rolls (made night before) or nigellas Christmas muffins.
Definitely nice coffee.

DorisDay88 · 28/11/2017 21:56

derelict we've always had pork pies too, since I was small. I usually have piccalilli with mine too Smile

YesILikeItToo · 28/11/2017 21:56

Scotch pancakes/ drop scones. Dd and I make the batter while we’re waiting for Granny to get out of bed. It rests while we open our presents. Takes care of any jam type gifts too.

Strokethefurrywall · 28/11/2017 21:57

I'm under the impression that I will be festively organised this year to make Baileys French Toast whilst we all drink coffee and sip mimosas, but in reality it will be a shit ton of coffee, champagne and croissants.

Scrowy · 28/11/2017 22:00

Frosties. It's tradition

HolyShet · 28/11/2017 22:01

cinnamon buns (homemade) and chocolate santas

itusedtobeverydifferent · 28/11/2017 22:02

I don't do a big one, because I want everyone to eat their dinner! So maybe just toast with a special topping like chocolate spread, or similar.

itusedtobeverydifferent · 28/11/2017 22:02

Oh, always Buck's Fizz for me. 👍

missyB1 · 28/11/2017 22:03

american pancakes and bacon.

Justabadwife · 28/11/2017 22:05

Dd has requested breakfast in bed (my bed, not hers)so we are having bacon, thick pancakes and maple syrup followed by hot chocolate with squirty cream and marshmallows. :)

NapQueen · 28/11/2017 22:05

I saw sort of christmas tree twist chocolate pastry thing on Pinterest that I will convince myself i can make. Right up until 3pm Christmas eve when I will think "ahh fuck it" and dash to Lidl for four of each of whatever sweet pastries are left in their bakery.

BitOutOfPractice · 28/11/2017 22:06

Christmas Day is one of only three days a year when it is allowed to eat chocolate for breakfast (the other two being your birthday and Easter Sunday) so, chocolate.

Well that's what the kids eat. I don't really have a traditional breakfast for myself.

A glass of fizz is compulsory
