I’m looking for ideas. What’s everyone doing?

OP posts:
Debby08 · 29/11/2017 15:34

Salmon, bbq, pizza and pancakes.

EdinaMonsoon · 29/11/2017 15:34

Nigella's Christmas Morning Muffins for DC and smoked salmon with scrambled eggs for DH and I. Champagne & coffee to drink (Bucks Fizz sets my teeth on edge!)

Allthepinkunicorns · 29/11/2017 15:43

I'm having a mix of pastries, bacon sarnies and bucks fizz. I love Christmas breakfast. I'm sure I will also fit some chocolate in as well.

UrsulaPandress · 29/11/2017 15:51

I'm a hardened drinker but I cannot face alcohol first thing in a morning - plus I always have to drive to do evening stables.

Nothing special here.

jelliebelly · 29/11/2017 15:52

Same as usual plus choc/ sweets from stockings for the kids! Weirdly the smell of turkey already cooking puts me off eating much at breakfast!

Chocrock · 29/11/2017 15:56

scrambled eggs, smoked salon, toast and bucks fizz - lovely!

missperegrinespeculiar · 29/11/2017 15:59

oh some of these are really lovely! I wish we could have a special breakfast and open presents leisurely, but the reality is, we always host the whole extended family at ours for 24th dinner, 25th lunch and dinner, and they also come on the 26th to eat left-overs!

so on the morning of the 25th I will be waking up relatively late after a late night on Christmas's eve and frantically prepping lunch and cleaning up last night's remains and preparing the dining room for Christmas lunch, I have even set a rule for the kids that they open just two presents each before lunch, or I would miss the whole thing!!

wish I could do it differently! Christmas morning is my least favourite part of the whole thing

Nightfall1983 · 29/11/2017 16:13

Our family’s Christmas breakfast is French Toast (or Eggy bread if you prefer) with Bacon And Maple syrup. This has been our tradition ever since we got married and we love it. I buy extra special bacon just because it’s christmas 🤣 And we usually do it with brioche bread. DS is allergic to egg which put a spanner in the works but at the moment Nutella on toast is a big enough treat for him so he is happy.

Sarahh2014 · 29/11/2017 16:19

Good old bacon baguettes

Lovemusic33 · 29/11/2017 16:23

We have toast Grin

It’s only me and the dd’s and they don’t really do breakfast (slice of toast at a push ), might manage a crumpet but not much else.

Bubblysqueak · 29/11/2017 16:23

Chocolate Blush that is all !

PurplePotatoes · 29/11/2017 16:26

Ready made pastries and bucks fizz , crumpets and cereal for the kids.

Forkrightorf · 29/11/2017 16:49

Pop tarts Blush Father Christmas always put a box in my stocking when I was small and he has continued the tradition for my DC. Smoked salmon band scrambled eggs on Boxing Day.

Whinesalot · 29/11/2017 16:54

Another smoked salmon and scrambled eggs here, sometimes with something fizzy.

EmilyChambers79 · 29/11/2017 16:57

Bacon sandwiches taken off the overnight cooked turkey, croissants and Bucks fizz!

Crazycatladyx5 · 29/11/2017 17:15

Usually coffee & chocolate while we open presents. But I've lost 10 stones since Feb. 8lbs to go to target.. Im not even going to buy all the sweets, nuts etc I usually do cos I'll just eat them. I've bought Slimming World Xmas cook books but I think dinner will just be my normal roast with all trimmings. I'd better have something for breakfast though....or I'll start pinching the kids sweets before lunch. ....maybe poached eggs, or scrambled. Only me & 2 kids....bf & his son plus my parents, daughter & grandkids coming for dinnertime.

EmmaJR1 · 29/11/2017 17:21

My FIL has requested a full English, I want flaky Crossiants and bacon, my MIL isn't a big eater and can't think what she wants so early... and my DH wants eggs benedict...

He can do the cooking and I'll make the tea!!!!

ThatsMySantaHisBeardIsSoFluffy · 29/11/2017 17:46

Wow, CrazyCatLady, that's an amazing loss, and barely any to go now! You've done so well!

And well done for resisting at Christmas too...you've far more willpower than I have!

DiegoMadonna · 29/11/2017 17:50

Chocolate and mulled wine!

What?? It's Christmas!

EmilyChambers79 · 29/11/2017 17:58

But I've lost 10 stones since Feb. 8lbs to go to target

Wow! That's amazing.

suckonthatmaureen · 29/11/2017 19:33

Smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and champagne.

Though I'll probably skip that this year, as we're having Blinis as a starter. So it will probably be pancakes & bacon, fruit, yoghurt, and champagne.
I've always had a big breakfast on Christmas morning, as we don't eat til 3-4ish.

As I'm originally from the East Midlands, a pork pie and piccalilli is also usually available for those who wish to partake!

BeauticianNotMagician81 · 29/11/2017 19:47

Bacon sandwiches and orange juice (Buck's Fizz for DH and I) The children always have the satsuma out of their stockings and one chocolate from the stockings as well. We have Christmas dinner at about 2-3pm.

mumontherun14 · 29/11/2017 20:26

Croissants, smoked salmon, scrambled eggs Buck's Fizz for me & DH. Fruit juice, bagels, scrambled egg & bacon for DC's. Can't wait! X

sprinkleofsunshine · 29/11/2017 20:32

We usually have some form of focaccia with Prosciutto and poached egg. And Buck's Fizz Grin

sprinkleofsunshine · 29/11/2017 20:35

Should add that is at about 10 after we've had the usual cuppa opening presents by the tree!
