What a day!
DD1 gone back to Uni today .I am not ashamed to say I cried Xmas Sad
Miss her very much but at least we put the tree up like we always do to Christmas music of course ! I know it is early but needs must .
Went to Asda then and bought a top for dd to wear on Xmas day very reasonable £8 Here it is , the pic doesn't do it justice it is very sparkly she loves pugs so it was ideal
direct.asda.com/george/womens/tops/christmas-pugging-top/GEM586601,default,pd.html
Then to Farmfoods for my parents frozen food and back home to watch Songs of Praise about the Queen and Prince Phillips 70th wedding anniversary , it was lovely seeing the footage from their wedding and their years together. They sang some of my favourite hymns too. Went out for a lovely walk later and came home to the news that poor David Cassidy has passed away, bless him this dementia is such an awful disease.
Hmmm not very Christmassy tonight must stop this and let normal service resume.
Hope all are well again and everyone take care

WreckTangled · 19/11/2017 19:40

Nothing Christmassy happening here either. I was just thinking about all the things I need to pay for after pay day never week Shock I have two works dos, dh’s birthday, trip to Longleat with hotel and some Christmas presents still to buy. Oh and we’re going to see little mix on Saturday and ds’ birthday Sunday!

Mrsmadevans · 19/11/2017 19:48

I've not had a chocolate Hob Nob in years. But I'd eat the whole packet if I located some! 🙈😂🐷

It really is expensive for you, Wreck. I have a similar list, but it's not too painful as I've spread it out. It's very inconsiderate having a December birthday though (my DSis and DH!).

WreckTangled · 20/11/2017 07:22

Five weeks!!

Yes quite a bit going on hopefully will be ok, will be worth it!

NoWordForFluffy · 20/11/2017 08:17

Oh my god...we have a LOUD snorer on our train this morning! I hope he doesn't miss his stop as he's well asleep! 🙈😂

WreckTangled · 20/11/2017 08:29

I would be too scared to fall asleep on the train! I’m going straight to a visit this morning so don’t need to go into the office. Time for another coffee!

HairsprayBabe · 20/11/2017 08:59

Second to last payday before Christmas for me today.... of to Amazon this could be a little on the pricey side

NoWordForFluffy · 20/11/2017 09:00

I've only got one payday now, on 6th!

CbeebiesAddict · 20/11/2017 09:43

It was an error Mrs, we managed to time leaving for the same time as the match finishing Confused

FridgeCut · 20/11/2017 09:52

I don't feel very Christmassy. I have done so much plan and prep and now it is just waiting for pay day to buy the last few things and then I think I will wrap. I just feel in limbo, it is so close now but not quite here.

SideOrderofSprouts · 20/11/2017 10:04

So on my ‘on this day’ On Facebook last year I had my tree up by now!! Next weekend ya going up

CbeebiesAddict · 20/11/2017 10:39

I know what you mean fridge, I think once the tree etc goes up it will really feel Christmassy :) When will yours go up. We are doing ours first weekend of December so less than two weeks!

FridgeCut · 20/11/2017 11:01

First weekend of December, we will be going to the Christmas tree farm and selecting and having one cut down :) We see FC the next day at Gullivers land. Wilf is going to be so excited!

NoWordForFluffy · 20/11/2017 12:23

Fridge, I feel the same now it has to be said. I might put our tree up next Sunday as I'm getting twitchy which makes me liable to spend cash I don't have! 🙈

I've already wrapped, so have very little to do right now. It's dangerous! Xmas Grin

Minster2012 · 20/11/2017 12:52

Just blanched and frozen my Brussel sprouts for Christmas Day after they were on the super 6 at Aldi!

And....treated myself to snowy sparkly nails for a few parties over the next few weeks I thought they are Christmassy nails without being too over the top (I will save over the top for actual Christmas & NYE!)

FridgeCut · 20/11/2017 13:04

What lovely long fingers you have! Love the nails, so sparkly!

BiddyPop · 20/11/2017 15:56

First lot of presents successfully handed over.

DD birthday present acquired.

A Christmas tree shaped pot scrubber acquired for festive fun in the washing up department! (DH will really roll his eyes at that!).

DM gave me my Christmas pudding. I managed to sweep up loads of leaves, mud and crud out the back, and unblock a drain, in return! Xmas Grin (Luckily I had brought a change of clothes with me for emergencies!)

I desperately need sleep - but the 70th birthday surprises and celebrations all went well!

Another work-week looms, one seminar done (all morning) and lots more happening this week so I may not get on here much.

Mrsmadevans · 20/11/2017 20:48

Well done Biddy!
I think the nails are superb Minster how the hell did she clean sprouts with them?
I have been very busy visiting three dear fogeys today , In Pontypool Handbag!

Minster2012 · 20/11/2017 21:55

Thanks very much!! And they were longer when I cleaned sprouts, they were cut a lot!! Practice!! What a beautiful picture I love places like that, isn’t thd countryside gorgeous

FridgeCut · 20/11/2017 22:05

I dashed to Poundland while wilf did gymnastics today. Really worth a visit, they had some wonderful stuff and I got some Christmas mojo back :)

HandbagCrazy · 20/11/2017 22:31

Mrsmad I hope you enjoyed your visits? Your pic is lovely!
I haven’t actually left the house for 2 days after braving Cardiff on Sat as I had tickets for the match.
CBeebies it was manic wasn’t it? Although I must say, I love the lights they have down there.

I’m still unwell, although much better now. Will hopefully be back in work tomorrow, depending on dizziness. I have however, spent today finishing lists and starting my Christmas cards.

Muddling I love your Christmas outfits!

Woolly we have a tradition in my family that you get Christmas music at least once a day from Dec 1st. When I lived at home it was played downstairs, getting louder and louder until you woke up. Now me and dsis have moved out, whoever gets up first on 1/12 rings the others and blasts Christmas music down the phone Xmas Grin DH dislikes this tradition as there is competition in it so the phone calls are always very early!

Hairspray is your bank card all hot and melting yet?

I thought I’d managed most things but we have decided to take dnephew on a little trip in February which will need to be booked and paid for with November’s pay so that’s an unexpected expense!!

On the plus side, my lovely, very very prem dniece is doing unbelievably well and drs are hopeful that she’ll be home by the end of November at the latest which is still 2 weeks before she was supposed to be born! Xmas Smile

Morning!

That's great news about your niece, Handbag. And how lovely that she's likely to be home for Christmas. 😊

I made more chilli jam last night; last batch now to use up the monster sack of sugar I'd bought! That stopped me buying things I didn't need last night. Xmas Grin

I think I've decided to do the trees this weekend. We are busy the weekend after, so it'll be a squeeze to fit it in.
