Thanks to those who suggested playmobil sets for dd. Have narrowed it down to, the playgroup, the park and the water park. All around £20 each.

Have been looking on ebay for cheapish build a bear outfits and not a great deal available. Is there another brand or company who sell clithes that would fit them?

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 04/10/2017 22:58

Is playmobil suitable for a 3 yo? She sat and played beautifully with her sister's sylvanian families the other night but it's a bit small and fiddly. I was thinking about getting her a playset of her own but wasn't sure whether to go toot toot route (bit babyish), bing or peppa set (rapidly outgrowing) or something more grown up

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 04/10/2017 22:59

(She'll be 3 just after Xmas)

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 04/10/2017 23:11

@GingerAndTheBiscuits Ds will be 3 in Feb and he loves playing with his older cousins Playmobil sets. I'm planning on getting him the Stables and some horses for Christmas. There are some small bits in the sets but they could be taken out to start with if you were concerned.

Thank you Tootsie , that's very useful Smile

LostMyRubySlippers · 04/10/2017 23:40

10thcuppa Argos have range of clothes, they had some in sale not long ago

cookiefiend · 04/10/2017 23:58

@chocolatepudandchocolatesauce I think it was this one though I thought it was a little smaller. I would have taken a pic if my toddler hadn't run towards something breakable!

There are some lovely ones online.

Pumpkintopf · 05/10/2017 00:02

@ja9r which store was that in please?

FreshSet · 05/10/2017 00:29

imsorryiasked Thank you so much, it was Wilkos! Thanks. Xmas Smile

cookiefiend · 05/10/2017 00:40

Oooh! Santas playmobil house £29.99 on amazon here which seems to be near enough a best price if you discount the time it randomly dropped to £13.99 (wish I had spotted that).

You could put the bits in a home made advent Calendar and build it up on the way to Christmas.

yumyumpoppycat · 05/10/2017 00:48

Very impressed by all the wrapping! I wrap in December so I can have the tree lights on and a Christmas movie in the background but it takes hours and hours. I have done number and letter codes on presents before and added lots of zeros for realism Blush I need a spreadsheet this year as always end up frantically opening some to check they are correct on xmas eve.

TheDrsDocMartens · 05/10/2017 01:09

Urgh spider willies Confused

cookiefiend · 05/10/2017 01:24

I use a sharpie pen to write on sellotape in the underside of each present who it is for. I keep a spreadsheet as I go along for each person. Last year we had an empty drawer unit with huge deep drawers I filled with wrapped gifts. This year it is gone, so I will need to work out where to keep them.

I wrap and store then put ribbon etc on when I pull them out to pop under the tree. It is very satisfying doing it as we go along. I used to do it over a few nights, but since DD1 became mobile (and now DD2) I can't just leave the living room spread with wrapping paraphernalia.

Isadora2007 · 05/10/2017 03:45

Wrap kids presents in their own paper so you don’t have the confusion of whose present isn’t whose. Four kids and last year was the first year I did this. Saved myself the usual frantic unwrapping come xmas eve pile-sorting time!!

minnymoobear · 05/10/2017 06:09

Great thread! Just found it and can't wait to get some bargains

Reastie · 05/10/2017 06:54

They had light boxes in primark the other day of varying sizes that were, I think, £5,£8, and £10.

I went into Primark the other day to look for Harry Potter stuff for my friend’s daughter. Dear god, it’s a hideous shop. Almost impossible to find anything and appears to be thrown together like a jumble sale. Much like TK Maxx.

The one in Liverpool was heaving too, even on a weekday lunch time. I doubt I’ll go back too soon!

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/10/2017 07:33

Thanks Reastie, I love these threads.

hoopdeloop · 05/10/2017 07:45

Does anyone have any ideas for my little boy who will be 3 in March. I want to get him the ELC CD player with mics (I know I’ll regret as he ‘sings’ along!
He loves Fireman Sam and trains but he already has all the sets! I want to keep outdoor stuff for his birthday.

I had considered getting a dress up chest and filling it with costumes/accessories but he doesn’t show any interest in this so think it would be a waste

buckeejit · 05/10/2017 07:50

😀. Reastie-for info the joules outlet link comes up as bargains unlimited.

Bilibo-9 may be too old, my almost 8yo ds doesn't really bother with it now but 4yo dd loves it

Thanks to pp who recommended aigle wellies-got a bargain pair on eBay, now for some welly liners....

Jessica78 · 05/10/2017 07:58

I think I'm about to re-enter a co-dependent relationship with Boots the Chemist... Lots of advantage card vouchers arrived in the post yesterday, I've already had a crack at the 3 for 2 already and gagging to know the next star gift Hmm

WreckTangled · 05/10/2017 07:59

I hate primark too. The oxford street one is pure hell. The one in Guildford is fine though nice and tidy and never heaving.

Does anyone know, when the Sainsbury's toy sale starts, does it start from as soon as the store opens so 7am for us?
