Bayeux thanks for the kitten feedback. I think it sounds like eBay is the way forward then!

SecretLimonadeDrinker · 24/09/2017 18:35

Where's the coffee - which metal detector did you get?

The Beginner’s Metal Detector with Analogue Display is currently £25 (half price) on the Maplin website - last few left.

TweedyF · 24/09/2017 18:35

I'm really enjoying this thread and excited to be Christmas shopping again - I've now got a few Playmobil bits put away!

One of the presents I had the best reaction from last year was a flower subscription from Bloom and Wild.

Amazon lightning deals have some vehicles that can be constructed and deconstructed with a screwdriver for about a tenner . My son was given similar once and it kept him very occupied at about three, although grandad had to put it back together again

Pinkyboo20 · 24/09/2017 19:13

Thanks for retro cadbury box, no home bargains near me but have a click and collect order with wilkos now. £4.75

WheresTheCoffee · 24/09/2017 19:17

Secret I bought this one metal detector.
It has a sensivity dial, so you can search for everything (great for DS) or fine tune out some metals (fun for DH). I've been looking for one since June so really happy with this one.

Unicorn81 · 24/09/2017 19:17

Lots of bargains on superdrug site, some advents half price

VoldemortsNipple · 24/09/2017 19:20

Re: Victoria Secret offer I posted earlier.

I went to rl shopping earlier specifically to see if they had the same offer in store which was their body mist sprays for £6 each. The only offer they had in store was 3 sprays for £24. So I have emailed Victoria Secret to tell them it's false advertising as they are advertising an offer that is impossible to get.

They say on their website they can't post liquids overseas however I'm sure they must have a U.K. distribution centre or offer them as collect in store.

penstemon that was a close one! If they can send porn and sex toys in plain brown paper why wouldn't they automatically do the same with toys? not necessarily speaking from experience

For Irish bargaineers: pricespy.ie is worth checking for Lego prices (and other stuff no doubt) as it compares between smyths, Argos, littlewoods, Amazon and other shops. I was checking a set for ds and it ranged from €32 to €59 Shock They also send price drop alerts.

TalkingOrmer · 24/09/2017 19:36

TweedyF just wanted to let you know that we can see your full name with that link.

Not xmas but I am currently finishing a hamper for SiL's 30th, any ideas for some little bits to go in it? she likes food, beauty stuff etc, pretty easy!

TheOnlyPink · 24/09/2017 19:39

Anne thanks for the tip about pricespy!

NeitherNowtNorSummat01 · 24/09/2017 19:53

@tootsieglitterballs pm me and I'll give you link
I can't post it on here as it gives my name

MummysMaison · 24/09/2017 20:04

Echo Dot....any good?

Currently buy 3 get £25 off. I might get one for DH, DD11 and DSS24?

Reastie · 24/09/2017 20:36

Forgot to say went to Poundland earlier and they had loads of those mini hamper crates to use for bottle hampers that were popular last year.

@Minster2012 as far as I know the junior dobble has less pictures on the cards. My guys all love dobble even the 2.5 yr old has started finding the 'match' on the other card!

gingerbreadmam · 24/09/2017 20:39

the nip fab peel pads are supposed to be good. think i saw on superdrug they are bu1 get 1 free at mo for you sils 30th.

carmex lip balm is good. £1.69 in home bargains.

fluffy socks are always welcome here.

gingerbreadmam · 24/09/2017 20:40

also ive got the echo dot. great for the price i only use it for music but there is so much more you can do with them.

Minster2012 · 24/09/2017 20:42

@carrie76 so it seems that, and from the reviews too that most people think the adults game is ok for children 5 & older?

Matilda2013 · 24/09/2017 20:46

I bought the adult double and it's worked fine and dsd was 5 when we started playing. It's very competitive Grin

Mountsnowdon · 24/09/2017 20:49

Can anyone tell me what a fingerling is and what it does? Are they suitable for a 10 year old? Thank you.

Unicorn81 · 24/09/2017 21:01

@voldemortsnipple i think superdrug do the vic secret sprays for a tenner or some here or here

AlbusPercival · 24/09/2017 21:03

For those who were asking the Costco animals were £100 to £400 depending on size.

Carrie76 · 24/09/2017 21:04

Yep I'd definitely go with the older one. It's a great game we all enjoy it. We've been known to keep playing, when the kids have had enoughBlush

penstemon · 24/09/2017 21:17

Can anyone recommend any bargainous fabric pens? I need several but they don't need to last that long. I'll have lots of children doing an activity at once but, when it's done, I won't need to use them again. Otherwise, are there any alternatives? Sharpies?

DS was playing Dobble from 3.5. He didn't know all of the words but could spot matches incredibly quickly.
