3ft fibre optic xmas tree at Argos for £4.99

weebarra · 19/09/2017 22:20

Thoughts for my two DSs, aged 7 and nearly 10. They are getting a Nintendo switch as a joint present, but I'm looking for smaller things too. They already have so much stuff! We already have some science activities from last year which are still un-played with.
I need inspiration!

Tattybogle89 · 19/09/2017 22:22

Also large Nivea gift sets women's and men's available for now £8.99

The clangers home planet playset £4.99 at Argos. Elsewhere £25 ish

RJnomore1 · 19/09/2017 22:23

Im not sure about this one wood - different set number, looks very similar, possibly TOO cheap?

@Pigleychez My local Smyths had them reduced at the front of the shop this weekend.

macnab · 19/09/2017 22:28

Thank you all for the updates, I LOVE these threads every year Xmas Smile

I pre-ordered the LOL Surprise Big Surprise - holy crap it's expensive Shock I do think DD will love it, she adores anything small like that as opposed to normal sized dolls like Barbie. But still, it's a LOT! Please tell me I've been a savvy shopper 🙏🏻 Please tell me it's gong to be the present this year (like the stupid hatchimal last year) I'd hate to think there'll be loads of them for bargainous prices before Christmas!!

woodwaj · 19/09/2017 22:29

I've just been looking at that one rj and too cheap was my first thought for a new without box Lego!!

Pigleychez · 19/09/2017 22:40

Ohh thanks shestoodinthestorm

SockEatingMonster · 19/09/2017 23:30

@woodwaj, this is probably not helpful at all, but if you or family are close to Norfolk, it might be worth contacting the department store Jarrolds to see if they still offer their store card, which I seem to recall used to come with a discount on your first purchase. They are selling the Death Star at £410.

Alternately, if you are close to Windsor and happen to have either a Legoland or Merlin annual pass, it would be worth contacting the big shop to see if they can order the Death Star in for you which, I believe as an annual pass holder, you'd be entitled to get 10% off the rrp of £410.

Still nowhere near as good as 20% off £400 though Sad

whatwillicallmyself · 20/09/2017 00:22

Totally congratulations hope you enjoy every minute with your new bundle.

Just woke my toddler up by LOL at Terrys chocolate organs 😀😀 then went downstairs to tell my dh, I could barely talk I was laughing so much and he looked at me as if I had two heads, obviously we have a different sense of humour.

I have a code for house of marbles for 10% off valid until 30th sept if anyone interested, code is Catscradle.

margaritasbythesea · 20/09/2017 06:07

woodwaj / my only hopes would be keeping an eye on amazon warehouse deals, ccc (I had a look / lowest ever price arounf 340) and setting up an alert on ebay. I´m sure you have thought of all that though.

Who´s the luckt bugger getting that one, then? My DS would probably pass out!

Brittbugs80 · 20/09/2017 06:56

Right ladies I need your help. I need this for under 😓😓

Lego death star

If smyths did their 20% off like they are supposed to there wouldn't be a problem

Lego doesn't reduce that well, though I have seen it go for £399 in Smyth's at random times through the year.

Not to make you feel worse but to highlight price difference, I looked at the Death Star in Lego shop New York but couldn't fit it in my case. It was $325.99 which is about £240.

I ended up buying the Ghostbusters car and the Back to the Future car for $63 as I had space for them! That worked out about £45 for both and the Back to the Future car goes for £49.99 here.

If you can get a cheap enough flight and room, go to New York to buy it!

Brittbugs80 · 20/09/2017 07:06

How do I get the 30 pounds off for Very, have registered for a new account and not seen it anywhere

The offer for it is online when you open the account and spend more than £100. You can also defer payment for 9 months interest free.

I opened a Very account for 20% off. They were selling the Toot Toot Airport for £20 which is £5 cheaper than other places, free click and collect so it cost me £14.99 which I'm pleased with!

Ratbagcatbag · 20/09/2017 07:26

Macnab what's the LOL big surprise please? I'm struggling for my four year old and we seem to have a million LOL dolls that she loves.

Ratbagcatbag · 20/09/2017 07:28

Eeeeek macnab. Just did googled it. Ouch, that's a lot of money!!!! Is it the size of a football? 😂

Kraggle · 20/09/2017 07:41

Reastie its cardboard but really very sturdy. They're beautiful!

SpiritedLondon · 20/09/2017 08:17

woodwaj I assume you don't have any friends in the US who would ship it for you? Of course there are companies that will do it for you for a few although big department stores like Macy's and Target chain ship internationally ( I'm not sure it would be worth it). I would wait though and see if it was reduced in
The Black Friday sales in November.

SpiritedLondon · 20/09/2017 08:18

Uggghhh for a fee! Fat fingers

christmasunicorn · 20/09/2017 08:25

Is this a safe place to call my dc every name under the sun? If you don't like an honest parents view then please, scroll on past.

Fucking little shits!
Sent them to get ready for school but instead they've gone into my room, opened up all my parcels and had a wonderful morning playing with their Christmas presents!! Bastards!!!

Disclaimer: I love my children dearly and would never ever call them any derogatory names in RL. They mean the world to me

WreckTangled · 20/09/2017 08:27

Oh no unicorn I would be gutted!

tiggersdontlikehoney · 20/09/2017 08:31

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 20/09/2017 08:46
