Yes, our kids are back at school / preschool today.

It's freezing here. First frozen windscreens of the autumn and lots of frosty fields visible from my train!

HairsprayBabe · 30/10/2017 09:06

1 degree c here this morning!

CbeebiesAddict · 30/10/2017 10:00

It is so cold today! Am on annual leave and DS is in nursery so going to do some wrapping :) Picked this up for him yesterday.

Cold and frosty this morning, really was exciting to see!

My DS doesn't go back till tomorrow, so ready for him to go back! Good job as we havne't done his collage homework yet.

I have sorted out under the sink in the kitchen and several big drawers in the kitchen, just got the tops of the cupboards to do now. My bedroom is next... Really enjoying getting ready for Christmas through cleaning and decluttering.

BiddyPop · 30/10/2017 11:36

I'm currently sitting in the sailing club doing beach master duty - launch the kids, record sail numbers and who is on the water, and be the on shore person in case of emergencies - but I am mostly free except for recording them as they come in for lunch, launch again for the afternoon and come ashore tonight (that no-one has been left on the water!). But its only a small group today, so I can sit in the (closed) bar and write the minutes of a meeting a month ago that are outstanding.

If I was organised enough, I would also have a craft project in the boot that I could pull out, but we got home too late last night.

Oh well, I may have put my Christmas paperwork in the bag, so I might do that later too.

Mrsmadevans · 30/10/2017 19:52

Biddy ....pity it's a closed bar Halloween Wink hope you found your paperwork
Fridge ...Good girl on the clearing out... I am hoping against hope I can get some done too before Xmas but my very elderly parents are throwing their spokes in my wheels !
Ceebs I love your darling son's xmas eve box... have a great week off with him my dear.
Very cold here too, frost on the windscreens and moisture inside the windows this morning ...not much but enough for dh to get out his little Karcher water hoover out lol, kept him quiet for about half an hour ! Just enough time for me to watch the news and have a cuppa in peace!!

Christmas cakes made today. I've just got to decide how to decorate them now. They will be cack handed rustic. Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 31/10/2017 00:02

Ooh. Technically I made my cakes yesterday.

55 Xmas Grin

NoWordForFluffy · 31/10/2017 07:45

Ooh, got in there, Woolly!

I have a cold so went to bed early last night. Feeling slightly better today, but the cross trainer was HARD going this morning!

Facebook just gave me a memory from last year...looks like the squirrel woods are an annual event in late October! 😁🐿😂

Morning all

Bit cooler this morning here. Actually hat weather!

NoWordForFluffy · 31/10/2017 07:56

I only wear hats if it's seriously cold or chilly and I have to stand still. I boil if I walk around in one! I needed a hot water bottle in bed last night though!

HairsprayBabe · 31/10/2017 08:10

The decorations are up on my commute now!

NoWordForFluffy · 31/10/2017 08:17

Wow. That's keen!

I go through countryside on my commute. Very little chance for decorations! 😂

autumnintheair · 31/10/2017 08:23

I have had a strong jolt of festive feelings. Our lapland UK invites arrived, never been before it all looks excellent already. The invites come in a gorgeous Xmas theme box and each invite is wax stamp sealed.

FridgeCut · 31/10/2017 09:27

Ooh looking forward to hearing all about Lapland uk, that sounds so exciting!

Someone on my estate has their decorations up, I know it’ll be a rapid transition into more having than up than not over the next five weeks. Yay!!

NoWordForFluffy · 31/10/2017 12:29

Not many people had decorations up along our road last year. Maybe it'll be different this year!

I want to go to real Lapland. A touch £££££ though. I love the sound of those invitations! You'll have to let us know if it's really worth it. 😁🎅🎄

HairsprayBabe · 31/10/2017 12:32

Oh! Sorry I meant in town and the shops not in peoples houses....

That would be quite mad!

Mrsmadevans · 31/10/2017 20:35

Halloween Envy @ Woolly making her cakes well done !
Lovely pic of the 2 children and the squirrels Fluffs hope you feel better my dear .
The shopping centre (not really a centre just a walkthrough really lol) has the decs up already, the usual misery guts have been writing and complaining in the local rag..... bah Humbug
Been to Cardiff today and bought the most gorgeous dress I am very old now 56 and shop in EWM now but here is the dress I couldn't resist it www.ewm.co.uk/navy-leaf-print-cowl-neck-dress-2097486.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpqe22Nqb1wIV4bvtCh3KZw1sEAYYASABEgKq7PD_BwE
I also tried on a few hundred but my bank card wouldn't work and so I just bought the one with cash but it is gorgeous I luffs it !!!

FridgeCut · 31/10/2017 21:15

I love that dress! I'd absolutely wear it, I haven't a local EWM but I am 35 and shop anywhere!

Mrsmadevans · 31/10/2017 21:19

Aw thank you Fridge I don't feel so over the hill now my dear!
I love Orla Keily (but not the prices )and this reminded me of her leaf Pattern stuff . I luffs it ...

TheWoollybacksWife · 31/10/2017 21:27

That's a lovely dress MrsMad. The print is gorgeous. I can't wear cowl necks - they don't seem to sit right on my saggy boobs. We have got an EWM a few miles away and I'd love to go for a browse but I've already bought a dress for DD1's graduation next month and a party dress for my work's Christmas night out.

I'm now trying to relax after the deadline passed this afternoon for applications to senior school for DS. It's going to be a loooooong 5 months.

NoWordForFluffy · 31/10/2017 21:34

Did you apply to my old school, Woolly? It's a bloody long wait for secondary, isn't it?

I love the print on that dress, not sure about the material though (I get bad static shocks if I wear the wrong thing!).

TheWoollybacksWife · 31/10/2017 21:42

I did Fluffy. Along with the one that is walking distance from my house and another new school in the town. DS said he would be happy wherever but both DDs want him to go to their (and your) old school. What will be, will be.

NoWordForFluffy · 31/10/2017 22:04

There's a reunion for pupils from the 80s at my old school next month. Sadly I can't go. Makes me feel very old!

I think I know the walking distance one. It was a really good school when I was at school. I think it's a specialist academy maybe now? Or something like that!

Which end of town is the new one? I know nothing about that one! (Didn't know it existed!)
