Single figures weeks until Christmas! 🎅🎄🎅🎄

FridgeCut · 23/10/2017 08:12

I've done most of my Christmas shopping now I think. Randomest thing is sleeping bags and head torches for the boys. Mountain warehouse doing 50% off everything and then having an additional code made me go a bit mad!

HairsprayBabe · 23/10/2017 08:14

I still have soooo much to get

in better news DP has found a temp job that will keep us going till january!

NoWordForFluffy · 23/10/2017 08:21

Great news, Hairspray!

I'm done now, I think. I had to take all my family presents down south this weekend, so not only am I done for my family, it's all delivered too, and out of my hair!

SideOrderofSprouts · 23/10/2017 08:43

Morning all!! Wrapped a chunk of presents last night. Still have some on order. Need to start buying family gifts soon

Great news Hairspray!

CbeebiesAddict · 23/10/2017 09:28

Yay fab news hairspray! I have quite a bit of buying to do but I picked some more up yesterday as well as some lovely wrapping paper :)

ThatsWotSheSaid · 23/10/2017 09:47

Currys have just emailed to say I won't be getting the camera. :(

BiddyPop · 23/10/2017 12:42

I am not keeping up with you lot at all at the moment!! Life is too manic.

We cancelled Cubs this weekend because of the weather, so I managed to get the craft materials sorted and some semblance of order on the paperwork. I still have a lot of work to do on the paperwork yet, but there are signs of progress (and I couldn't do anything on it all last week as DD slept in that room - I can only tackle these jobs once she's in bed). I also found a few UFOs of craft projects that can be finished quickly (like, less than an hour), so I will do those for 3 DNieces (3 crayon rolls) and add crayons/twistables (depending on ages) and a couple of small colouring books for various journeys as their Christmas presents. So my gift list is getting more sorted.

I managed to get a family sized and a 2 person sized shepherd's pie in the freezer, as well as a family one made for DH and DD tonight (they will probably eat the lot - DD already had a load of the mince and mash separately, and another bowl of mash last night so the family one is slightly sparsely covered in the freezer!). I am working on clearing out things in the freezer too - making space.

I ordered the Lego advent calendar (very hard to get!), and pj's for me. I have yet to look for DH and DD.

But I am off again later today for another 2 night trip overseas - at least this one, while the usual very busy pace, is different issues to normal and a large group so I should get to unwind and relax a little.

Mrsmadevans · 23/10/2017 16:06

Hairspray I am so pleased for you my dear Yay!
Sprout you sound better sweetie ... I am all agog at your wrapping !!!
Biddy you are on it!
Slow day here today hubbs is going to retire next week and I am very sad about it for his sake because it means the end of his working life and although we are very happy to be finished working and spend time together before we die lol it is still very nostalgic and emotional . He is being very brave but I said to him it is time for the young ones now .
We have been very lucky in our working lives very lucky indeed and now we are getting older it will be lovely to have time together now while we are still well enough to enjoy it.
On the Christmas front hmmm I have eaten a box of Thorntons today
yes you heard me right a whole box that I bought to go in a sweetie hamper.
I always deal with upset by eating it is a bloody nightmare.

SideOrderofSprouts · 23/10/2017 23:26

I am much better thank goodness. MrSprouts now has it though so the world has ended. Only sproutstheeldest and her amazing immune system remain!

🎄🎄62🎄🎄

I haven’t twitched (yet) but then I haven’t really been Christmas shopping yet. My big trip with my SILs and DD1 and 2 is next month. I don’t have much still to buy but who knows what might happen Grin. My plan is to spend the Saturday drinking cocktails and eating dinner with a lightning raid on Debenhams makeup counter on Sunday. I’ll let you know what actually happens GrinGrinGrin

NoWordForFluffy · 24/10/2017 06:56

Morning. Glad you're feeling better, Sprouts!

I've twitched. I've ordered a bloody Fingerling for DD as I'd hate for her to miss out because they're all out of stock when / if she decides she wants one.

HairsprayBabe · 24/10/2017 07:48

You can always sell it if she decides she dosn't want it fluffy

I have an almost aggressive craving for a mince pie this morning.

NoWordForFluffy · 24/10/2017 07:50

She said she wants a walking talking doll last night. No chance! If they even exist!

HairsprayBabe · 24/10/2017 07:56

And thank you for all the well wishes, it has made things a little more relaxed in our house!

peachy94 · 24/10/2017 09:33

Fluffy does luvabella walk? Wink went to Sainsbury's yesterday to find a transformer, got 2 and may go back today to get more because they're such a good price, also left Sainsbury's with more Lego and kinetic sand and got DS a Christmas plate bowl and cup from m&s. think I'm done for DD though I will probably buy more stuff she doesn't need she's only 8 months Blush and will probably spend Christmas Day eating my tree need to look in the loft at what wrapping paper I have, think my stash is running low. Still no idea what to get my dad Confused

SideOrderofSprouts · 24/10/2017 10:39

I’m trying to get a fingerling. Hard when nowhere over here seems to
Bloody have any

CbeebiesAddict · 24/10/2017 10:51

All this talk of fingerlings makes me despair for when DS is older. At the moment I can get him the toys I like Grin

HairsprayBabe · 24/10/2017 11:15

I don't even know what a fingerling is and I really do not want to google it Xmas Grin

CbeebiesAddict · 24/10/2017 11:42

I googled it hairspray and it's safe 😂

peachy94 · 24/10/2017 11:52

sprouts Argos have the playset with 2 monkeys for £30

NoWordForFluffy · 24/10/2017 12:22

Sprouts, if you want me to try to preorder another to send it over to you I can.

Mrsmadevans · 24/10/2017 12:45

62 days yay!
hope all ok I am feeling happier today thank God.
Don't think the fingerlings are worth nearly 15 pounds they are just plastic and do they do anything? Think it's just another fad .Misery loves company lol!
Yes you can tell I have no tiny ones to buy the latest in thing for lol!
Bought hubbs a massive plate from Matalan his normal dinner plate has three chips and counting and he wouldn't let me throw it out till I found him an equally massive one to replace it. I think writing this and reading it back that we sound absolutely mad given the full box of Thorntons yesterday and this chipped massive plate lol!
Have a great day everyone !

NoWordForFluffy · 24/10/2017 12:48

They do apparently do stuff, Mrs. I've no idea what.

But...we have little people and buying the latest toy at Christmas is now our lives for a good while! I wouldn't have bought anything like a hatchimal or the LOL doll surprise thingy. I don't mind this too much!
