Meds not mess Blush

BiddyPop · 11/10/2017 13:04

Hairspray I hope your DB's team can get him settled again and he can continue the apprenticeship. I like his style with the fireworks though! Xmas Grin

Hugs to all those with poorly people to support, hopefully all those bugs will get zapped by the cold weather asap. Fingers crossed Muddling that your DS gets his results soon too, and that they are positive.

I am almost flattened with work stuff, but just about staying afloat. I didn't want to face knitting straight after dinner last night, so managed another of the "HGP Autumn tasks" - I cleaned the tumble dryer filters (it's a condenser drier so the filters get quite clogged). I did get a few more ends sewn in, and the final rib cast on and started, but I messed up the buttonholes part I think so I may have to rip back a few rows tonight before I can finish it off. Ugh! I HAVE to get it in the post to DF by Friday or else I have to courier it to Canada myself.

No other news really - today's shopping task was buying a farewell gift for a colleague (moving job) so that was a nice change (nice piece of jewellery).

Your poor brother hairspray

It's all go here at the moment although I was caught perusing the M&s catalogue at work Xmas Grin

Hmm... I'm not sure I would trust Nathan and Darren, either, to be honest Hairspray...

I've had a mystery gift through the post! Need to don my deerstalker...

Someone has sent me a buyagift voucher for a day's cookery class. DH says it's not him. There's no sender name that I can see...

So, someone who knows I like cooking, or else someone who thinks I need to learn to cook!

Thank you biddy!

Yesterday's miserable weather appears to have blown itself out (though it's still windy). Not much crisp autumn weather yet. Hopefully it starts here!

HairsprayBabe · 12/10/2017 08:45

Very windy here, going to an apple day harvest festival on Sunday, weather should be good so I am looking forwards to it!

CbeebiesAddict · 12/10/2017 08:47

It's lovely here :) Autumn leaves galore and beautiful sunshine. Built the table last night and have realised we have smashed so much crockery since last year I need to reinvest. Any suggestions for a bit Christmassy but could be used all year round?

FridgeCut · 12/10/2017 10:13

Just done my ocado shop for the 23rd. SIL is maybe coming for christmas day brunch and chooses not to eat gluten, I think that is a big chunk of my basket! Blimey the bagels are expensive :)

FridgeCut · 12/10/2017 10:20

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/253172974052 I've ordered this too hehe. SHould be here by christmas...

MuddlingThroughLife · 12/10/2017 10:31

It's grey and damp here but the sun peeps out now and then. I've been doing lots of christmas browsing online but not much buying, though I did order myself a gorgeous christmas onsie in the hope we get some decent cold festive weather this year! Ds is having an easy morning after a busy OT session which wore him out yesterday, then I'm taking him to school from 1pm to 3pm. I'm already wishing it was bed time!

Can't wait for Halloween to come and go so the shops can get proper festive! 🎅

NoWordForFluffy · 12/10/2017 10:47

Just reserved Ocado with 4 bottles of champagne! I doubt I’ll need the slot, but handy to have one on 23rd!

Mrsmadevans · 12/10/2017 12:36

I have the washing out here! I am deluded
Hope everyone is feeling better and receiving good news about their loved ones.
I am debating whether to buy a Reeces advent calendar
I don't know why I don't know anyone who likes them
I think I am post food hangover from last night that is why I cheated on my diet and ate a large pkt of Ritz cracker thingys and a half large bag of popcorn
My husband was gobsmacked at me lol!
Little does he know I scoffed the whole pkt of the Ritz things I told him it was only half a pkt and 6 jam sandwich bikkys to go to bed with !
oh well back to the grindstone and starvation mode ready for Christmas I suppose .

FridgeCut · 12/10/2017 13:03

I have just stripped the bests and stuck them in the machine and hung out a load of washing. Hooray for sunny and windy days.

BiddyPop · 12/10/2017 16:42

After a dull and quiet time, the autumn leaves suddenly started to appear yesterday morning and there were lots more on the ground today. (And the trains are running late due to "poor rail quality"!).

Last night, I made dinner and cleared up, and did absolutely nothing else...I watched a movie and went to bed. I literally couldn't face knitting or anything else. Tonight I need to knit, and I need to figure out clothes for next week (travelling Monday and Tuesday).

NoWordForFluffy · 12/10/2017 17:04

We hang washing out all year round! We’ve had a load out today. We often plan it round the weather forecast and it’s very often put out at night and darked on too! 😂

CbeebiesAddict · 12/10/2017 17:25

If it's dry our washing goes out regardless of season :)

KatieHF · 12/10/2017 17:44

Can I jump in? New here but love Christmas. I'm the host this year and crapping myself!

NoWordForFluffy · 12/10/2017 18:13

Hi Katie!

How many are you hosting? We have Biddy amongst us who’s brilliant at planning Christmas! Ask her anything you’re unsure of.

KatieHF · 12/10/2017 18:29
  1. I've never done anything like it before so very nervous. But can't wait anyway!.
CbeebiesAddict · 12/10/2017 18:54

Welcome Katie :) Is it Christmas dinner you are hosting or guests over the Christmas period?

KatieHF · 12/10/2017 19:56

They're coming Christmas Eve night through Christmas Day. I'm really excited.

Annwithnoe · 12/10/2017 20:36

Have you done your knitting Biddy? I'm terrible for losing steam with crafts just when I really need to get them finished. I can handle deadlines for work stuff but I hate the building pressure for something that is supposed to be a pleasure in the first place.

Welcome Katie!
