disclaimer. This thread is up early because I am old and tired and need to go to bed. It's actually 99 from midnight

Woolly, I tactically avoided the countdown to be honest! 😂

There’s a reunion for my old school next month, but I’m not going as it’s too much expense. —And it’s my idea of hell as I didn’t really like many people then, let alone now!—

NoWordForFluffy · 10/10/2017 08:21

Strike out fail there.

BiddyPop · 10/10/2017 08:51

🤣Wooly

I managed to get the side rib done for one edge of the cardigan last night, and sewed in 3 ends this morning. 1 more edge to do (buttonhole side), buttons to (find and) sew on and about 6 more ends to sew in, then I'm done. Half a chance it will make Friday's post.

I also made my mincemeat last night as I'd boiled the lemon the night before. A bit more boozy than the recipe called for (there's no point in keeping 50ml of Gran mariner😂).

1 set of match gear washed as used (for soccer) yesterday and needed again (for Gaelic football) tomorrow in school. Surely there are other kids who want to play on school teams! (Separately she had hockey training in the afternoon!).

No cleaning done though....maybe tonight

TheWoollybacksWife · 10/10/2017 10:51

I was very good . I only ate three Grin and I have bagged the others up in pairs and have put them in the freezer.

CbeebiesAddict · 10/10/2017 11:59

Sorry I have been AWOL! How is everyone? DH made the Christmas cake this morning so the house smells divine. Dining table and chairs arriving today and I am going to do the M&S order :)

CbeebiesAddict · 10/10/2017 12:00

Oh and DH picked up stollen bites in Aldi too woolly :)

MuddlingThroughLife · 10/10/2017 14:52

No MRI results today. Docs don't like to give results just from the images, they need the formal report to give results. So we're now looking at end of the week/early next week.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/10/2017 15:42

That’s disappointing, Muddling. I hope it’s sooner rather than later!

MuddlingThroughLife · 10/10/2017 17:40

So do I! Thanks fluffy.

Mrsmadevans · 10/10/2017 17:43

Hope it is good news Muddling
Get better all of you !
Am up to scratch on the countdown l think
it is 76 days or 75 sleeps I do declare!
Why it is so important I don't know but I am like a dawg with a bone and can't seem to let it drop. Will have smack my face to make me come to my senses !

Annwithnoe · 10/10/2017 19:00

all this talk of DLP brings back lovely memories from my pre-dc days of Christmas shopping in Paris and trying to eat roasted chestnuts without burning my freezing fingers Grin
I tried serving roastedchesnuts as a canapé one year and they were a bit meh.

peachy94 · 10/10/2017 21:17

tootsieglitterballs there's a new Paddington film coming out? It's probably for that

NoWordForFluffy · 11/10/2017 07:04

75

Morning! Awful night’s sleep last night and now a joyous day in the office to cope with.

What’s everyone else up to today?

HairsprayBabe · 11/10/2017 07:58

Morning all, more bad news here for my brother, because his apprenticeship is factory based if they can't get the fits under control by april then he won't be able to continue there.

It is too dangerous if he had a seizure near the machines then god knows what will happen.

He is gutted and has no idea what to do now Sad

FridgeCut · 11/10/2017 08:15

Oh no :( it is so hard to see when you are young that there are so many things out there and that it very much will all work out. Fingers crossed it all settles .

NoWordForFluffy · 11/10/2017 08:43

Oh no. Is there an office-based apprenticeship they’ve can give him? Fingers crossed he gets them sorted soon enough.

Mrsmadevans · 11/10/2017 10:07

Morning everyone it's a bit meh here today
I hope it works out well for your DB Hairspray you never know things might work out ok for him , fingers crossed x
Might go to Ikea if I can get my DD2 out of bed lol
75 days omg its coming!!!!

FireflyGirl · 11/10/2017 10:18

Your poor brother, Hairspray. That must be really disheartening for him. And I agree with Fridge, it can be hard to see all the opportunities available to you when you're that age.

I am also at work following a terrible night's sleep.

There is apparently a mystery bug going around DS's nursery, where the children are running an incredibly high temperature but have no other symptoms. DS has had this twice in the last two weeks. At 12.30am this morning, DS, DH and I were all in the bathroom while DS sat on the toilet pretending to poo and DH and I were trying to persuade him to take some Neurofen. Luckily, he took it this time. When he was ill last time, he refused to touch it - we ended up mixing it in with his yoghurt (thanks for that tip, Mumsnet!)

I would much rather be going to Ikea with MrsM. I will even volunteer to get your DD2 out of bed for you! Will you let me know if they have the Christmas stock in yet? One of the Christmas traditions with DM and DSis is we go to Ikea to look at the decorations.

HairsprayBabe · 11/10/2017 10:44

Thanks all, it is his 19th next Tuesday, I have no idea what to get him, something cool like a swiss army knife maybe... (he camps and is a scout leader)

Although he can't be feeling that bad as he just rang me saying:
"Can I bring fireworks to your Halloween party? Nathan and Darren gan get them cheap off the market!?"
Hmm that would be a no DarlingBrother

NoWordForFluffy · 11/10/2017 11:01

Firefly, our DS currently has an ear infection and is on his second lot of antibiotics for it. Sadly he doesn’t like yoghurt or milk (dairy or non-dairy; he’s a recovering CMPI sufferer) so he gets pinned down and it squirted in. Sadly for him!

Mrsmadevans · 11/10/2017 11:07

'I would much rather be going to Ikea with MrsM. I will even volunteer to get your DD2 out of bed for you! Will you let me know if they have the Christmas stock in yet? One of the Christmas traditions with DM and DSis is we go to Ikea to look at the decorations.'
She still isn't up yet Firefly , GRRRRR
This is what we both do together every year we love it!

Annwithnoe · 11/10/2017 11:15

hugs for all those suffering with bugs and illness. We keep getting letters from the school warning of outbreaks of all sorts of contagious things. Don't know if it's a new policy to tell us about everything or there's just a lot going at the moment. The weather doesn't help: we need a good freeze to drive the bugs away.
Sorry to hear about your DB's job Hairspray. Fingers crossed he finds the right mess to bring it under control soon.
