In need of a giggle...what are the strangest things your DC have asked for?

Dd(5) again - "a pull string PE bag"
She has a lovely canvas rucksack, but wants a cheap nylon pump bag.

FuckingHateRats · 08/12/2016 20:09

Over the years we've had requests for a cheeseburger, a shopkins eraser, and a three step ladder. All were fulfilled, and the ladder was carried about under his arm for at least six months after. He was amazed that Santa was able to bring it!

Dirt Clod, as advertised in an episode of aquabats

Astley · 08/12/2016 20:53

I remember asking for Head and Shoulders when I was about 8. I'd been swimming with a friend and that's what she'd had. We didn't have branded products so I thought this was incredibly fancy Grin

Another suggestion for a guitar backpack here, though toddler-sized.

DS1 (4) wants a "conveylor" belt for christmas. We've bought him a playmobil one, hoping that's what he means, but I have a feeling he means a full size one or an escalator Hmm

Crazybusy1983 · 08/12/2016 21:20

My youngest DS has asked for a doctor!!
When questioned he said he wanted a "real man dr" to live in our house with us so he can give us medicine when we're are poorly

Doesitreallymatteranyway · 08/12/2016 22:05

A yogurt
Dd aged five a few years ago. I took it as a real request though she probably meant there and then not in a month's time for Christmas but she wrote it in her list (which she was writing just after breakfast).

Mammylamb · 08/12/2016 22:23

My brother also wanted a wee willie winkie hat!

Finlaggan · 08/12/2016 22:26

A ginormous monkey...

RhodaBorrocks · 08/12/2016 22:48

My DS(9) is pretty boring compared to some of yours.

However, this year he requested "a pack of Tesco fizzy multicolour belts" on his Christmas list and has refused offers to have a pack in the weekly shop because "I'm getting them for Christmas."

At 53p a pack, I pushed the boat out and bought 3. Grin

When he was 5 he asked for bath bombs. I bought him a whole selection from lush and lovingly wrapped each one individually. He's a regular in our local store now, and pink and sparkly baths are a guilty pleasure of his but I mustn't tell any of his friends, they think he only uses the 'boy coloured' ones because "they don't understand gender equality, mum!" . Xmas Grin

More worryingly, my nearly 30 year old Dsis has requested we all buy presents for her cat.

TigerLily666 · 08/12/2016 22:48

A 'big road roller with lots of batteries in it' and a 'gazebo' (following gentle probing 'one that you can dance in like In the night garden')

Roadroller = tick; Gazebo = large cardboard box with some holes cut in it

BikeRunSki · 08/12/2016 23:51

A few years ago, DS, then about 4 wanted "an eagle, an owl, a bat and a fox".

He has slept with this doorstop every night since.

a couple of years back ds said he'd got everything he really needed but a tub of lollies and a pile of annuals would be very nice please Santa. He has form. He once asked the Santa at the Garden centre to bring him a green flannel ( I think he panicked...but Santa did in fact deliver said facecloth) and one year, in a very silly giddy mood..he requesting a cuddly wuddly lickle fluffy pink bunny ( he was about 10 at the time and trying out his best attempts at sarcasm...again Santa came through) Now he is 13 and a seriously cynical consumer ...." anything is fine Santa...but really....no one really needs new sock and pants for Christmas do they?" Gotta love that boy !

awayinamazda · 09/12/2016 00:15

The most difficult one we ever had was DS at 3 - who decided he wanted 'a son of his own'. We checked, and he didn't mean a brother, nor a 'sun', he wanted his own child to look after.

We weren't able to satisfy that request (but managed to prepare him beforehand to know that a child would not be delivered in his xmas sack, and to distract him with some more age appropriate gifts!)

Parkourbench · 09/12/2016 00:48

A magic typewriter and a Viking hat

bobsleighteam · 09/12/2016 00:52

"A cat cupboard"
"What's a cat cupboard?" (Shit I've already bought the xfactor mic you asked for I can't afford more overpriced shite)
"A cupboard to lock cats in cos I hate them"
Ds aged 5

NeedsAsockamnesty · 09/12/2016 01:25

Last year my 4yo asked for a

"Trackmaster dead Timothy with red eyes"

This confused me greatly for quite some weeks until I realised that the crappy you tube rubbish he watches (opening boxes and cracking eggs) had changed from the usual to some random person making up train stories with the actual Trackmaster tracks and trains and one featured a ghost train.
So I found a normal Timothy and painted him white with red eyes and 4yo was most pleased.

aforestgrewandgrew · 09/12/2016 02:22

The wind!

It was at the end of a very long list of everything DD (3.5) could see at bedtime, basically. She started off asking for teddies, then dolls house, books, bed, walls, door, house, the wind!

Toyslayer · 09/12/2016 06:29

DD doesn't have a list yet :)
I was asked by MIL for my Christmas list and after exclaiming that I wasn't 7 so wouldn't be writing one ... she presented me with hers Blush
