I'll start.

Hello elf... Yes I will post some more photos later this week. I will confess to having another 5 trees shock in the house. They all have a theme depending on which room they are in the house...as I said previously, I am an unrepentant tree nazi..

Can't wait Prada.

ElfontheShelfIsWATCHINGYOUTOO · 12/12/2016 20:11

yes love the holly one.

Yesitsmeagain · 12/12/2016 20:14

It's cute isn't it?

I'm really missing my second tree for the silver decorations this year. Don't really have the space and couldn't be bothered to persuade DH but regretting it now. Definitely on the cards for next year. might just go and buy a little potted one tomorrow

ElfontheShelfIsWATCHINGYOUTOO · 12/12/2016 20:18

likeyourhairy I do like your bay - whatever window reflecting the trees glory and lights.

mummummummummm · 12/12/2016 20:26

Thanks Elf, I took the curtains down so they did not impede its beauty!

Trumpton · 13/12/2016 00:31

It's up ! 400 lights and many many decorations . I haven't decorated the tree for years as my DD's always do it but one has moved away and the other has a tiny baby so DH and I did it . I had forgotten how much up and down the step ladder was involved ! My poor legs Xmas Grin

Trees were not so impressive back in the day. This is ours from when I was just one !

Finally get to add mine! I've loved this thread.

I've put coloured and white lights on, and added some pics of my fave baubles.

Oh and NC as my tree is a identifying to anyone who knows me!

KitKat1985 · 13/12/2016 09:55

Ours is really boring this year. We decided just to go with lights and tinsel as DD1 (2 years old) is a destructive force of nature and would remove any baubles etc, and we're both knackered at the moment from sleep deprivation after having DD2 (1 month old).

I was just lying on the sofa and the tree looked so nice I thought I'll do a daytime shot too.

Love seeing everyone else's trees.

I prefer the Scandinavian way of doing things. It is beautifully minimal.

llike it is bushy - is it norway spruce> we went for that last year and again this year, the room smells devine and its so busy but lovely shape like yours - will up load when I know how too Grin

firsttimemum15 · 13/12/2016 19:00

Cara is that your home and tree. Gasp. Beautiful

CaraAspen · 13/12/2016 20:00

"firsttimemum15

Cara is that your home and tree. Gasp. Beautiful"

Obviously not given the link!! However, that is my preferred style of decor. Will not be having a tree as I prefer to decorate a beautiful spruce bough or something. No lights and minimal decoration.

BaublesAndGlitter · 13/12/2016 21:07

Cara I've spent Christmas in Prague and Reykjavik and both places were beautifully minimal in their decorations.
In Reykjavik especially, everyone has trees with just plain warm lights on and hardly anything else. I swore while I was there that I was going to bring that style home.

And then I put up my tree and my hunger for nostalgia takes over and before I know it I've got coloured lights and the bauble collection out Xmas Smile

CocktailQueen · 13/12/2016 21:14

And mine. With a couple of my favourite decorations.

Elf it is a spruce, we've had nordmans the last few years because the spruce have been a bit sparse, it's a good year for spruce though, my Dad had a similar specimen. The smell compared to the nordmans is heavenly.

FantasticBeasts · 13/12/2016 21:35

Cara - I love that style of decor too, in fact we visited my sister last week and her tree is absolutely lovely and looks very much like that.

Mine on the other hand is very overcrowded with decorations acquired over the last 30 years - looks like a riot of decorations all clamouring for a feeble branch - decorated by DD I used to be fussy.

firsttimemum15 · 13/12/2016 21:37

Sorry Cara no offence meant. I didnt know if you had uploaded the pic elsewhere.

glitterandtinsel · 13/12/2016 21:57

Trumpton, are those teeny tiny crackers? My mum has them on my parents' tree. She got them when she was first married. They were favourites of mine. I would shake them to check if they had gifts inside. We weren't allowed to use them though!

EnidButton · 13/12/2016 22:06

We have a box of the tiny crackers. It says 1906 (I think) on the box. They all still rattle and have a mint inside apparently. Haven't ever opened one to see if it's still edible. Xmas Grin
