Sorry if this has been done.

Does anyone know when they are planning on releasing other than 'early November'?

It was the first of November last year!

Anyone got any idea on what it might be?

Why do any of you care how much is spent on an advert? It's their money. They haven't robbed it off the NHS or some charity.
Calm down its just an advert.

LineyReborn · 03/11/2016 23:16

Because they've robbed it off me.

NotAMammy · 03/11/2016 23:26

Pickachew are you going to see the window tomorrow?
I think I'll pop along after work on Monday, hopefully the crowds won't be too heaving then. I do hope it's actually Christmassy, although we've taken bets in the office that it'll Peter Rabbit themed.

WalterWhitesNipple · 04/11/2016 09:34

LineyHmm They haven't robbed you at all. It's your choice if you spend your money in John Lewis.

LineyReborn · 04/11/2016 09:40

The full story, Walter, is like something off Watchdog. I have an expensive duff product which wasn't as described, and their cut-price 'customer services' were / are rude and unhelpful.

I would rather JL went back to the old style customer services where they actually, you know, had enviable customer service for existing customers, than spend JL Partnership money on glossily attracting new customers when it can't look after the ones it already has.

mouldycheesefan · 04/11/2016 09:41

Liney, John lewis customer service has been outsourced for decades. Capita are just a new provider. Previously was with a different provider. But they use several different ones anyway.
Capita do loads of customer service including the BBC. It's a non event.

LineyReborn · 04/11/2016 09:42

It's still crap.

notanetter · 04/11/2016 09:42

I know when it's airing.

We had a wedding list at John Lewis.
They delivered our items (small amount and modest) to our house.
Not at the time they said but at a random time when we were out.
They simply left it all in the front garden.
Quite a few things were stolen.
The rest of the boxes were heavily rained upon.

When I complained the sneery JL person said: 'well, I expect things often go walkabout in that area'. :O :O :O and: 'it is only a few things anyway'.
we eventually got a small amount of credit but not all (they implied we were not telling the truth which was really upsetting) and it was awful.

H worked for JL many years ago when their standards were high.
I know quite a few people who've had trouble with their customer service in recent years.

Fools.

Notanetter
Please are you able to tell me? Either here or Pm? I really want to watch it with my little boy when it comes on, and not find out ive missed it on social media etc!

LaundryQueenHatesIroning · 04/11/2016 11:20

Notanetter do you know what it is too? Which song? Or just when it will be released?

OP posts:
Mumofazoo · 04/11/2016 14:01

Has it been on yet?

smellylittleorange · 04/11/2016 15:05

Notanetter - you big TEASE! Grin [santa]

smellylittleorange · 04/11/2016 17:52

but PM me if you have to share

theaveragewife · 04/11/2016 18:11

I think it's going to be a variety of animals being tourists around the world, based upon their new Christmas stuff!

I would like to see a sausage dog with a camera around its neck and possibly a monkey dancing to 'let's dance'. I'm not sure if using Bowie would feel a bit weird though, it might feel like making money out of death.

MTWTFSS · 04/11/2016 19:30

Sainsburys mog advert was amazing!!!

mouldycheesefan · 04/11/2016 21:04

Sainsbury mog was way better than John Lewis crappy moon ad. It's three years since John Lewis did a decent Xmas ad.

gunting · 04/11/2016 21:10

I heard some sort of insider info that it'll be the 10th and read somewhere that they usually tease it during the X factor the weekend before

gaggiagirl · 04/11/2016 21:11

Sainsburys WW1 was a great ad too. Really well done. Mog was frigging fantastic my DC adored it.

I like a christmassy song in the ad. I loved jools Holland for Aldi last year.

leccybill · 04/11/2016 21:11

Sainsburys have aced it the last couple of years. JL got too cocky.

ScarlettO89 · 04/11/2016 21:13

There will be a teaser tomorrow during X factor, and launch on the 10th. The ad agency have been working on it since February and yes, its cost a lot!

mouldycheesefan · 04/11/2016 21:20

Is it the same ad agency that did the rubbish moon ad?

gunting · 04/11/2016 21:43

Mouldy yes, and the same director too.

Yes people just posting "crying" and " I seem to have something in my eye". How they managed to squeeze out tears over the moon ad I will never know.
MOg was so so much better, I feel quite sorry for Sainsbury's their brilliant ad was eclipsed by a crap one the last two years.
