Ideas for those hard-to-buy-for men in our lives

I was going to ask on the bargain thread but thought it might be easier to have a separate thread.

Please come and share your ideas for the men you are buying for. I have DH and several adult relatives to buy for and am stumped. My only idea so far is a Star Wars Thumb Wars light sabre book for DN.

Help me move away from the Lynx gift sets please (or at least get them cheaper).

It's strange because I actually thought all men's shirts come with the pockets for stiffeners - no? Can you check your dp shirts? Tiny little slits on inside of collar? Often they come with plastic ones inside.

He buys his shirts from Lewis and Charles Thrywitt mainly. And if splashing out then a Thomas Pink

I have ordered the silver engraved stiffer nets from various places over the years. Not On The High Street have loads of options if you put in search box.

Have also ordered in the past - one where they inscribe it with hour child's handwriting.

I don't know how to do links on here?

And for anyone who is interested - my Dp is a big golf fan and have just found personalised golf balls - so having them inscribed with our favourite saying

DH buys almost exclusively from Next, they don't have the holes, but have plastic stiffeners sewn in. He gets very attached to a brand is really difficult to tempt away from it, but I'll keep trying! thanks.

Has anyone seen those ads for Below the Belt grooming products? I keep missing the start and then tune in when they start talking about dry balls.

It literally seems to be a grooming range that's like a primer for testes.
It might be good for cyclists or anyone who could be prone to chavage?

I might get DH a bottle for lols as he kills himself laughing at how my head snaps round whenever the ad comes on the telly.

FromIbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 15/11/2016 08:39

We've seen those ads Grin

The first time we were left wondering it was a spoof and were waiting for some confirmation of that but it seems genuine,

Taytocrisps · 15/11/2016 09:47

Debenhams have Marvel and Star Wars pyjamas - might be good for older nephews/sons or even DHs. They're not exactly cheap at €35 but probably a bit cheaper in sterling.

Taytocrisps · 15/11/2016 12:45

Continuing with the themed pyjamas, I've had a look at the Tesco website and they have Home Alone/Elf/Star Wars/Disney Grumpy/Peppa Pig pyjamas for £16 and assorted joggers for £14 (Marvel/Star Wars/Grinch/Batman V Superman). Also a Chewbacca onesie for £25.

Fabulous thread, thanks everyone. DH will be getting form cards as well as t-shirts, beer, work shirts. MIL was delighted I suggested chipolo to her for FIL (and DH) - thank you for getting me brownie points! Grin

My dad will be getting whisky, and also a couple of horseshoes from The Amazing Chocolate Workshop - loads of chocolate stuff made to look like rusty old metal, tools etc. Really impressive appearance, no idea on taste but is worth it for the wow factor (it's chocolate so bound to be well received!).

My DH is difficult to get a present for, normally we make each other gifts. This year I am teaming up with my brother to make a batch of moonshine (Legal in this state if you don't sell it)

Milliways · 15/11/2016 16:41

We bought the I-clip wallet for DS last year and he loves it. So useful for those that don't want a bulky wallet, and its so clever.

scaryclown · 15/11/2016 19:18

If you are in the midlands, theres a place called beer to rent where you can brew your own real ale and do a brewing day. You can make recipies similar tp known brands or do your owm variations and you end up with (i think) a crate or two of ypu own brew amd labels etc Its online somewhere.
