Ideas for those hard-to-buy-for men in our lives

I was going to ask on the bargain thread but thought it might be easier to have a separate thread.

Please come and share your ideas for the men you are buying for. I have DH and several adult relatives to buy for and am stumped. My only idea so far is a Star Wars Thumb Wars light sabre book for DN.

Help me move away from the Lynx gift sets please (or at least get them cheaper).

This is similar to Grid-it. Got it for DH years ago and still going strong.
Cheaper too!

DH, BIL and FIL are getting a golf taster day together with an instructor. They love spending time together and this will be something new for them all to try followed by a nice mans lunch at the club.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Costaproblemo, I'm afraid I can't answer you question about the phone hologram thingies but I've just bought the two for £9.99 on Amazon and finished buying for a v v v difficult to buy for nephew.

Also for anyone asking about the Formcards, I ordered mine on 11th October anticipating a 2 month delivery but they arrived today. Bonus! Thanks to pp for those - ideal for my dad who does like to fashion his own tools when he hasn't got one to do the exact job.

HerGrapeness

you're welcome. I still haven't ordered them (should do, I guess!) I was still hoping that someone would say the 99p are the same quality!

Re Formcards. Did you order from Amazon?

Thanks!

Costaproblemo

I ordered my Formcards from here I didn't know you could buy them from Amazon Blush or I probably would have.

TBF i would imagine the 99p hologram thingies would probably be about the same as the ones from Amazon, look like just a bit of plastic to me so can't see how they can be that different I just didn't want to chance the wait for delivery from China as I have to send over to the US

Just got some Formcards for DH. They look ace.

Someone gave my DH membership to the Wine Society for his birthday.

Glad to see that the formcards are going down well with people! And to see that you already received yours when you ordered on the 11th. I ordered mine on the 7th, so hoping to receive them soon now!

Zombiezumba thank you for wooden glasses holder idea - exactly the kind of novelty thing I was looking for.
Most successful gift I bought my extremely difficult to buy for DH was a cycle computer, really not very expensive and very well used and appreciated

I think a batch of formcards must have been posted last week. I got mine today too. Thankfully there are some instructions on the back, because I couldn't quite remember what it was, just that they seemed like a good idea at the time!

For any Bond nerds (DB) there was a new book out last year - .Trigger Mortis, and there's also a graphic novel called VARGR
Beard comb and conditioner
DH is getting a decent coffee grinder (and if he's nice he might get a coffee advent calendar). Also a range of tshirts related to his favourite TV shows, new tracky bottoms, and a Kanye West hoodie (he thinks he's still 16!)
DDad is getting an engraved house sign for his new house, but like compound 9 for him as he loves fiddling with things and has engineering background.
DFIL - was struggling for ideas but Spicery subscription will be right up his street!
Great thread!

boiling coffee advent calendar?? Where would I get one of those?

I'm on a run of getting DH first editions of books he's interested in that are signed by the author. Love books as a present (but realise this makes me very old-fashioned in an era of kindle).

I picked up a present for DH in the most unlikely shop - The Disney Store. It's a 'Nightmare Before Christmas' Christmas tree decoration. They have Star Wars decorations too.

He's very into extreme sports/mountaineering etc. so I might look out for a book or DVD along those lines. He's watched a few documentaries about Everest/K2 and really enjoyed them.

He's also a big Star Wars fan but I always get him something Star Wars related so I'm trying to think of something original. If all else fails, I might pick him up a Star Wars dressing gown. There's one on Amazon for £18.

Oh and I'm considering some superhero socks.

Clickclickclick they're on Not on the High Street. A quick google of coffee advent calendar should find them as I came across them while looking at extortionate prices for the whiskey advent calendar from earlier thread!

Has anyone seen any nice page to view diaries that are pretty sturdy? I've started a bit of a tradition for my DH to record his work hours, so it will get battered about a bit! Thanks!

I have a lovely Leuchstrum notebook for bullet journalling. They have a day to view diary and this shop have a selection of lovely things, although I also like a good stroke of a notebook before I buy it.
