Ideas for those hard-to-buy-for men in our lives

I was going to ask on the bargain thread but thought it might be easier to have a separate thread.

Please come and share your ideas for the men you are buying for. I have DH and several adult relatives to buy for and am stumped. My only idea so far is a Star Wars Thumb Wars light sabre book for DN.

Help me move away from the Lynx gift sets please (or at least get them cheaper).

Thanks to those that mentioned the Leatherman Multi tool, have ordered one for DH and one for 23yr DS. Both come with free Leatherman torches and I know both will be thrilled with both items.

My DH loves a good torch. This is expensive but on a good offer and Maglite is a good brand: torch

Dh is nearly impossible. He's a physics nerd and this year I'm buying him a glass marble solar system. Previous scientific gifts have been a gyroscope, a prism and a globe. Apart from that, he will get lots of chocolate and a gap t shirt - very unoriginal I know. If I'm feeling flush I'll either book him a day at Chewton Glen or a night away for us together in a naice hotel. All the women in my life are so much easier to buy for!

Oh, and a Powerstick for ds and dh.

And for ds, I'm getting super-hot sauces from hotsauceemporium.co.uk. Some great stuff for lovers of hot food.

Just bought DH Chipolos for his birthday which he seemed to like - they are little electronic tags to put on keys, wallet etc - they are connected to an app on your phone and if you lose them you tap on the app and they beep! So a geeky version of the whistling keyring I guess! £20 each so not cheap but I think the time saved and especially if you lose your wallet/keys in a shop etc I can imagine it would save you a lot of worry. Also bonus for you if you live with the man: you don't get asked "have you seen my X?" multiple times a week! There are other brands available but I liked this one as you can replace the batteries on the 'classic'.

I so need this thread. One son is having prescription sunglasses for driving. Everyone gets a stocking with their own favourite sweets and snacks, and some little fiddle gadgets, puzzles etc.

OMG! I want form cards and sugru! I had no idea what they were... Amazeballs! Thanks everyone!

Some lovely ideas!
More of a stocking filler and definitely a love/hate one, but I've bought DH Marmite Chocolate before. He loves it!
He's so hard to buy for, as he likes 'useful' presents...

Place marking for ideas as I have not a jot of a clue what to buy impossible DH and 16 yr old DS

The form cards and sugru look brilliant. This is such a great thread. They have form cards on amazon if that helps.

Secrid Wallets are great for men who don't usually like wallets. The mini one has been great for DH who never carried one before and was forever damaging his cards by carrying them loose in his pocket

Form cards on amazon? I can find sugru but not form cards! Do you have a link?

Just bought several things from this thread for my very difficult DB - thanks
Formcard are on Amazon search with no gap between the words and you should find them. Not sure how to link - lots of lurking not often posting.

Some fab ideas! Have just ordered Form card for DH and my DSs.

I've just seen Formcards mentioned on here and ordered some for DP. I had thought about Sugru but like the reusable element of Formcards.

Also wanted to add that I saw Glencairn whisky glasses mentioned on another thread - apparently they are the definitive glass for whisky drinkers so have ordered one for FIL. ( here but also on Amazon, ebay etc)

After years of different gift ideas I've found what is most appreciated is a night of true pampering - be it his favourite meal and a nice bottle of wine, a proper full body massage & maybe a bath or um a wild night of sexual indulgence!! anyway just some suggestions but I think that is what a lot of partners love & all low cost & fun!

For other men folk in your life I'd recommend Laithwaites wine or The Spicery?

Successes from previous years: new boots, snood, cycling gloves and puncture repair kit, swafega hand cleaner, heart rate monitor, go pro accessories, down gilet, belt, wallet, jumper for ski holiday, book about history of our local area, photo of the dc's, bottle of interesting gin

but my favourite is the specs holder which is made of wood and is in the shape of a nose (he loves it too!)

I will try to think of more...

Thanks all. Some great ideas for my dh.

One question, does anyone know about these hologram things for your phone? They are £10 for 2 on Amazon but £0.99 on eBay (from China). Is there a difference?

Thanks!

Anyone looking for torches, I bought this head torch a few weeks ago, very happy with it.

Any suggestions for someone into mountain biking & DIY?
