A few mince pies in Sainsburys yesterday, but resisted the temptation. There were also Christmas dog toys and treats available.

Mummyshortlegz · 18/09/2016 09:34

This week I am definitely cracking on with my crafting. Definitely.

HungryHorace · 18/09/2016 13:39

Definitely, Mummy?! I've heard that before! 😂

MrsDilligaf · 18/09/2016 13:41

I am in the same boat on Christmas decluttering and preparations at the moment....getting precisely nowhere.

RL is intervening in a big way. But at least I know that by the end of this week, every item of clothing in the house will be clean.....don't even ask......bloody foreign travel

TheWoollybacksWife · 19/09/2016 10:48

My decluttering is slow and steady. DD1 was deposited at uni yesterday and has taken all of her extra stuff that had been shoved stored in the airing cupboard. So my plan today is to tidy in there and also sort through DS's drawers and charity bag and excess bedding and outgrown t-shirts. I'll take any tatty towels down to the vets.

I've just ordered a Christmas tree storage bag which should be here by Friday so once it's here I'm going to sort through all the decorations and make sure they are all stored properly. (By properly I mean in colour coordinated boxes Blush) I'll probably end up having a bit of a clear out in the garage too.

TheWoollybacksWife · 19/09/2016 15:36

Airing cupboard and small boy's room decluttered and tidied. I've also purchased my colour coordinated storage boxes so the garage may get sorted in Friday.

I'm 3/4 of the way through Martha's Christmas hat MrsD but Christmas crafting is on hold while I finish up some bits and bobs for my scrumptious new great-nephew. I'm hoping to do a few things for the Woolly Hugs Christmas sale too.

Does anyone know when the Christmas magazines are in the shops? I have a vague idea it is the end of October. I buy them every year. Scrutinise them from cover to cover and then keep things the same Xmas Blush

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/09/2016 18:06

Decluttering ah yes Xmas Grin

I have a load for the Charity Shop pick up

Shoes shoes (which will go into those recycle bins)

I will waterproof all the shoes which need this and wash my waterproof coat (check it still fits me first)

I have Christmas Pudding I made last year (I did 2)
I will decide on my cake nearer the time ( I soak the fruit in Amarreto for a week)

Still got Hallowe'en to plan and I;m planning a Coffee Morning a work on the 30th.

And yes, I buy the Christmas magazines (usually Good Housekeeping, Woman&Home and maybe Prima) look at the recipes and ignore anything new.
I stick to my Traditions, there are many other days to try new things, Christmas isn't one of them. Xmas Wink

Mummyshortlegz · 19/09/2016 19:21

I love a Christmas magazine. I don't buy them at any other time.

HungryHorace · 20/09/2016 07:11

It seems to be going faster now it's only double figures!

Ratbagcatbag · 20/09/2016 08:07

Ooooh I've never bought Christmas magazines. Are they as fab as they sound? Maybe I should this year. :)

Mummyshortlegz · 20/09/2016 09:04

Good housekeeping Is my Christmas magazine staple. I love it sooo much.

Blueisthemagicnumber · 20/09/2016 09:57

I buy every one Blush I love them, even though they sort of say the same thing every year!

Mummyshortlegz · 20/09/2016 10:11

There are usually some good craft ones too. Prima maybe?

I don't mind the repeatition, it allows me to reminisce.

MrsDilligaf · 20/09/2016 10:33

Woolly I can't wait to see it. She'll be wearing it constantly Smile

I was talking to DH about our christmas goodies yesterday and mentioned that I ought to start getting the ingredients for the cake. He said "is it not easier to buy one?"

Shock

Well yes, it is easier to buy one. But it's not the same is it????? Not the same at all.

He's a plonker.

I Just got back from York for our anniversary and DP took me to the Christmas shop Xmas Grin it was like my own personal nirvana! But crikey the prices were steep! I bought one bauble, Father Christmas riding a stag, and I have been forbidden from looking at it till it goes on the tree now! Shock

I buy all the christmas mags, every year, and keep them for several years i have a huge library of christmas magazines!

Mummyshortlegz · 20/09/2016 14:17
