I saw across Aldi a Christmas magazine out but I was at the checkout and I didn't want to risk the wrath to run to see what I was. I have love 2 shop vouchers so can hit up smiths when the mags are out.

LaylaDoesAHipToss · 02/10/2016 09:40

Not seen any out yet Ratbag but I'm sure that some are out. I'm having to console myself with the Christmas Studio catalogue at the moment!Grin

Blueisthemagicnumber · 02/10/2016 09:48

I have just bought some spray paint to try to make a particular colour bauble, that you can't actually buy (navy), so I can try my navy and gold theme. Planning to dip some in glitter too.

Boots catalogue not online yet.

My family keep looking at me weirdly when I mention Christmas, forgetting that I am not actually on here Xmas Grin

InYourHonour · 02/10/2016 10:33

Morning all!
Think I'll join here as love Christmas!
I've posted on the bargains thread too but its a bit manic buy buy buy for me really.
I've also been on the Poncetastic thread as love making christmas bits and pieces.
I have a craft business based on Elf on The Shelf so have been in full festive swing since beginning August when orders for this year started coming in

LaylaDoesAHipToss · 02/10/2016 10:51

Navy and gold theme sounds great Blue. You'll have to post a pic when your tree's done!

I know what you mean Honour- I love my bargains but I would just spend, spend, SPEND. Love "Elf in the Shelf"- did it last year for my son...he loved it so I shall do it again this year. The joys of having a lo!🎅

Guitargirl · 02/10/2016 17:10

InYourHonour - ooo, tell us more about this Elf business of yours!

We have done Elf on the Shelf for, I think, 6(?) years now. Even DP (Christmas Grinch that he is) gets into it coming up with ideas.

MrsDilligaf · 02/10/2016 19:50

I have treated myself to the Cath Kidston Christmas Organiser today (£10 in the Bicester Village Outlet) in fact the two friends who I was with also bought one.

They are v pretty and we love them and have agreed that it is best handwriting only - we're now too scared to write anything in them!

LaylaDoesAHipToss · 02/10/2016 21:17

Ooo really fancy the idea of a Yankee Advent Calendar. Must look that up!

ConstantlyCooking · 02/10/2016 21:27

MrsD - I now have organiser envy. Might try phoning the store and seeing if they will send by post....

Vegangelist · 02/10/2016 22:32

Star 12 WEEKS Star

I love this little group on here too (I namechange a bit though, but am very regular, with the occasional drop off when RL gets busy). I'm also on the bargains threads, and a new Fb group for Xmas as well! Fb group for shopping and ideas etc.

Constantly give them a call and see what they say otherwise if you could bear to wait for a little while I do need to go back so I will happily pi k one up for you.

I got the Good Homes mag last week, Good Housekeeping and Ideal Home versions were both on the shelf this morning as well.

GH looks like basically just recipes, I presume that they will have a more rounded entire celebration one soon. But I am going to go back through my stash of older ones first before I buy anymore, my collection goes back to 1999, and I have at least one from each year since. Xmas Blush

Blueisthemagicnumber · 03/10/2016 09:10

There are gift ideas in GH too. And only 24 days to wait for the Christmas edition. Going to head to my nearest newsagent to see what others are out there.

BiddyPop · 03/10/2016 09:16

Sorry I just realised that I didn't say which GH- the Good Housekeeping Cheistmas 206 collection was the one that seemed to be mostly recipes, I just flicked through it from the shelf and returned it.

Good Homes has some nice decorating ideas so far - I'm only 1/3 of the way through.

HairsprayBabe · 03/10/2016 09:32

I got a nice mag the other week, crafty projects, recipes, decorations, gifts, lots! Can't remember what it was called! It's kicking around in my living room I'll check it when I get back home.

nickdrakeslovechild · 03/10/2016 09:36

ConstantlyCooking They have the organiser on Amazon for a bit more money.

Its so cold here today, the car says 7 degrees and really misty. I am going to mop the floor using my new warm Cinnamon Zoflora! Love this time of year.

MrsDilligaf · 03/10/2016 10:03

Oh Nick...pop round and do my floor too there's a love Smile

DH has painted the radiator in the bathroom and he'll be doing the one in the hall later on this morning. This means we're not putting the heating on for another 48 hours at least. I'm holed up in the lounge with the emergency heater on.

Brrrr

TheImprobableGirl · 03/10/2016 10:04

I got the simply Christmas magazine a week ago, that is very good, lots of different bits and pieces!

ConstantlyCooking · 03/10/2016 10:16

Thank you for the offer Mrs D I will look into amazon and placing a phone order first. I am sure Christmas threads must be amongst the friendliest Smile

TheWoollybacksWife · 03/10/2016 10:52

Morning all Smile

I seem to have been overtaken by some sort of weird virus today. The worst symptom is obsessive cleaning. I am certain I'm not pregnant too old and I've checked and neither my DM or DMIL are coming for a visit. I must have a particularly bad dose as I've cleaned the oven and I'm contemplating taking the steamer to the shower Sad

I've booked a day after half term with my lovely friend to go Christmas shopping so I'm spending the next couple of weeks making lists. I think I need an organiser too Xmas Grin

Blueisthemagicnumber · 03/10/2016 14:13

Ah, I meant the regular GH. Saw the recipe one in WH Smith earlier.

HandbagCrazy · 03/10/2016 21:59

I was in Tesco earlier and saw the Ideal Homes Christmas magazine out. I didn't pick it up because I'm only allowing myself one or two or five this year but the free on the front looked lovely.

YY to pp who said Christmas threads are the friendliest Xmas Smile

I am all alone this weekend as DH is away with work so although I'm working a few hours on Saturday, I'm planning to crack on with my Christmas planning / crocheting / film watching. And I have a leftover Christmas Yankee tartlet thing that will set
The weekend off nicely.

We had the first real autumnal day of this year yesterday and I saw mince pies in m&s but I resisted temptation (pats self on back).

HairsprayBabe · 04/10/2016 07:49

It's brisk today here too, I am WFH today and really do not want to put the heating on yet if possible!
