Six months on- which toys are still being played with?

I really enjoyed reading the thread about the most appreciated and play with gifts just after Christmas and I wondered what everyone's DCs were still playing with and what has been forgotten about (almost) six months later.

DS was 2 a few weeks after Christmas and I tried to buy toys that he would grow into over the year. He still loves his play kitchen best and the way in which he plays with is developing as he does. He isn't playing with his Brio train set as much as I hoped but he is starting to show an interest and I'm sure he will be ready to add to it by Christmas.

Anyone else?

My dsd plays with a crayola art case my gran bought her most... Genuinely can't think of anything else she plays with much books were a hit though

Lego! It's always bloody Lego tbh. Christmas 2016 I and just buying Lego.

V Tech Switch and Go Mega T Rex gets played with daily by 4.5yo and 1.11yo.

Giant wooden train set with special play table was destroyed Christmas morning and hasn't been touched since. Massive waste of £150 and wish I'd bought the eldest a decent bike instead of having to fork out for one now just because he desperately needs one.

Toot toot stuff remains very popular with the youngest and the Duplo is also consistently popular with both.

Playmobil is still a great hit in our house. Also Lego and super heroes.

The bike DS1 got hasn't been touched

The baby remains disdainfully unimpressed by all toys and just wants to climb the stairs. She likes to watch us dancing to her noisy toys though.

The toddler likes the Brio if someone else builds it although I've put it away as part of my toy rotation at the moment. Bath toys are played with every night altho I already binned some mouldy ones.

Everything for Dd2 - she's a real player.

Even our ds loves playing with it

We bought the Klip Klop Castle (horse version) 3 months later for her birthday and it's still a big hit with both kids

Ds is 15 months

Mine are older just turned 5 & 7 but thought I'd add mine. DS is another Lego fiend. He can't get enough so I'm thinking of a Lego only Christmas this year too. Also K'nex and an electronics set are regularly played with.

They both love dressing up so all the dressing up is in use at least every weekend as is DD's "make up". Books and notepads were also a hit and have been replaced because they're full.

Playmobil and the Magiclip Princess Dolls have been great, but the absolute best thing was the Leapreader pen and books. She reads them every day.

Biggest waste of money- a flying fairy thing that lasted less than a day, a swimming seahorse in a tank and a furby.

I can't wait for DS to be really into Lego. He does like Duplo but it's not the same as the proper stuff, I think I will be buying it for me rather than him

I think Lucy the dog is my biggest disappointment!

Toot toot track and ramps for the third year running. We've been adding to the garage at Christmas and birthdays and it's still used daily.

Glad toot toot tracks are rated. Planning on getting ds them this year for Christmas (he will be 2 in March 2017(

Ds 2 loves his play kitchen and like your ds the way he plays is progressing he gets older. He loves any car at all. His easel. His tent. Also starting to play with fireman sam toys and act out rescues which I find adorable. (his birthday is after Christmas so some of these are from then) and books!

Not as interested in duplo tends to just like pulling it all apart.

Oh we have baby born too I thought she cried like made noise cries and was electronic. I wasn't impressed. Haven't see her for a while!

Same here matilda. DD was so excited about having a doggy (a tendy one) yet she can't say the commands properly and the fucking mutt just barks at her.

She has played with the bunny jump game and her duplo though.

Oh and DD is 3.5. The Christmas before last she had a dolly and pushchair and just recently she's played with them loads.

Oh gosh the Toot Toot stuff! The track goes everywhere and when every single vehicle is switched on at once I just want to hide under the sofa and now there are so many garages, fire stations, cranes etc it's a nightmare to store but my DSs adore it and it comes out pretty much daily. Family know how much they enjoy it and buy it at birthdays as well.

Both boys had balance bikes at Christmas and ride them whenever they get a chance.

Brio also still very popular.

Ah clearly I didn't research my dolls well enough. She probably still wouldn't bother with her though.. Just me that was disappointed --she likes that she can pee-

DD was 3.5 at Xmas; coming up to 4 now. Barbie & her pals get played with lots; she likes her musical jewellery box (has one of those twirly ballerinas when you open it); that's pretty much it tbh. Can't even remember most of what she got! Toddler Elsa was definitely the biggest letdown - she took her plait out and that was about it; she's knocking around in a box somewhere with one shoe on afaik. She isn't massive on toys generally; prefers crafty type stuff - we get through a helluva lot of PVA in our house! Her birthday is coming up in a few weeks and I think we'll be getting mostly sticker books & craft sets.

Can you try to help me argue with dh that Dd will be better off with a balance bike and not a bike with stabiliser bike.

She will be 4 in March and we have agreed to get her a bike for Christmas. He just wants to go to halfords and buy a bike with stabilisers, I want to get her an Isla balance bike.

Help?!
