I made the mistake of getting the ds's to write letters this year and am now panicing that they will be disappointed not to get everything they asked for. And somehow they have managed to remember everything they wrote/scribbled down, yet they are amazingly fast at forgetting that I asked them to take their paltes to the kitchen once they'd eaten!!
Will it now be a case of little sad faces as they rip open the last one to discover the 20 things on their lists are not inside it.
Have I made a rod for my back????

So pleased I logged on to this thread - great fun AND I got the news of Papa Please Get the Moon for Me at the Lowry which dd loves! Her list (@ 3 1/4) is

A bell
A special bunny

This despite evil m-i-l asking if she'd like "a lovely big red bike" which she isn't going to get!

kagsie · 21/12/2006 19:48

Oh and just bought the last two tickets for the morning show!!

colditz · 21/12/2006 19:58

Lego.

I explained that Santa knows all about the enormous box of lego in the cupboard. So what else d you think Santa is going to bring?

Dummies.

Um, no darling, because you are nearly four, and santa won't bring any dummies.

Toys then.

Yes, santa will probably bring toys.

Kittypickle · 21/12/2006 20:17

I love the "Santa brings free drugs" one !

DS (3.3) would like Santa and Farmer Christmas to bring him a castle. I have been training him to say this since August so that I can finally give him the much reduced wooden castle I got nearly 3 years ago in the M&S sale, thanks to a MN thread.

There was a slightly tense moment when 2 weeks ago this changed to a red wooden castle. I had visions of freezing in the garage with a pot of paint. But, when I finally got the thing out of the box a few days ago I found it has red bits on it so I am saved.

Still giggling at various suggestions but here are mine - tree-girl migh be a Xmas fairy or angel (which goes on the top of the tree). For a Brown Present I am meanly motivated to suggest a poop in a box - though actually (for those of you whose DCs are going through the pee-poo-bum-willy stage) there is apparently a website that sells cuddly toys called Pee and Poo - one is brown, one is yellow, you get the idea. Have so far not taught DS (2 and 3 months) to ask Father Xmas for things, he will get what he's given :-) Which still meant having to run off to the other end of the tramlink to buy a doll buggy that's NOT PINK as he is mad keen on pushing dolls in buggys so I wanted to get him a boy one...

colditz · 22/12/2006 00:11

maadamez, try wilkos. Cheap buggy that's not pink. About a fiver!

DD2.5 asked Farver Christmas for following:

A dolly house
Erm, let me think!
A scooter
A bike
Anything else, let me see...
An apple - a green one and a pear cos I like pears, don't you?

Totally mad on Peppa Pig & seemed to have outgrown Noddy, so bought loads of Peppa Pig goodies, only for her to tell Santa that she wants a Noddy airport!!!!!

Altogether from family & friends shes got 100+ presents to open over the holidays. Is it mean not to get the sodding airport?

NappiesGalooooooooooooria · 22/12/2006 20:47

whoa! do you think she'll notice the lack of airport amongst all that?? doubt it...

GoodKingWestCountryLass · 22/12/2006 21:08

DD (2.5) wants chocolate and an elephant

madamez · 23/12/2006 00:20

Thank you Colditz, but sorted - got blue buggy and blue-clothed baby doll from ELC for £14 the lot, which is fine by me. and Bllcks to the "helpful' toyshop assistant who suggested I buy the mock-Graco pramette for about £35...

mytinselinas · 23/12/2006 00:33

i found out today dd1 has made a list in her diary! she let me have a quick peek
a list of 36 things!!
no 23, have another little sister!!
no 35, make my room bigger!!!

3Ddonut · 23/12/2006 00:38

maggi, I don't think it hurts for kids not to get everything on their list, as long as they get some things and preferably their favourite!

Squiffy · 24/12/2006 04:34

big relief all round. Took DS to the shops hoping he might find and show me the 'tree girl', and hit the jackpot. It's a batman figure called 'poison ivy' that wears a green dress.

And it's only a fiver too so very happy.
