This thread has me rofl. Esp love horsewoman's dd with moon present and brown present (!) and Marina's balls/presents! presents!
And toilet of doom, pmsl

sadly even ds2 (3.5) has the idea, asking for a Spiderman suit, a batman figure and some knights. Sigh. All rather war-like.

DD1 (2.3) has just told me she wants pudding for her Xmas present. When asked to elaborate she explained she wanted Tubby Custard.

This has made me ROFL.
DS1 wanted 3 trucks last year (He was 2) but when he said it it sounded like
"Santa bring free drugs"
We got some very strange looks from people who asked him what he wanted.

lpl · 20/12/2006 09:22

I picked my two year old up from nursery last night and he had written a list (with help I suspect!!) and asked for a snowman and some sweets but his friend of the same age had asked for some toilet paper!!

hannahsaunt · 20/12/2006 09:36

Ds2 who is 3.11 has asked for a hat and a scarf and some gloves (and was very cross with Santa at the Sunday School party who didn't bring said items).

He wants to buy me a real penguin . Dh is struggling!

SchneeBallFight · 20/12/2006 09:47

DS1 (3y4m) wants a 'Wight Saver' which turned out to be a light sabre from Star Wars which he has never even seen! Not sure how he knows what it is!?

Am loveing some of these - really made me smile

SchneeBallFight · 20/12/2006 09:51

OOps loving even

spinasnowflake · 20/12/2006 09:53

Seansgirl · 20/12/2006 09:54

Great thread, its lovely to hear all the truly innocent requests that have us all LOL

DD 3.8, seems to have cottoned on to the idea and has asked for:

2 dolls buggies (already has 1 buggy) and 1 pram
2 new big girl drinking cups
a photoframe
a babyborn

When asked about the 2 buggies and 1 pram she said (with that durr look)

"Mummy, The two Annabels (that she already has) are squashed in their buggy, and the new baby born needs a buggy too."

So I asked whos going in the pram

"My new baby sister that Im going to ask FC to put in your tummy"

At this time she didnt know I was prg, so hopefully all her wishes will come true (tho dont know about 3 buggies and a pram)

Seansgirl · 20/12/2006 09:55

Sorry should say that i am pregnant not was.

DD (3) announced last week that she wants a real life elephant.
Not so sure we can manage that one.

blueamema · 20/12/2006 10:08

When 15mth dd was asked what she wanted, we knew we wouldn't get much response as her vocab is very limited and mainly single words.... however when she was asked she simply replied 'Santa'!!!!

Not sure whether that will be possible, BLESS

spinasnowflake · 20/12/2006 10:18

AHH> Congrats Seangirl! Kids are spooky aren't they? I remember my parents sat my DB and I down on Xmas eve(21 years ago) to tell us whe was pg.Before she got a chance to break the news the doorbell rang(noone there faulty wiring and a stormy west of ireland night!) and my DB(7yo) said "I think it was an angel telling us about your baby mummy!" WEIRD!!!

bobs · 20/12/2006 10:20

Haven't been on MN for ages, but knew it would give me a giggle somewhere - and this was it!!
In our house, I'm afraid dd1 wants the latest, most expensive (just about) mobile on contract tarif - this for a 13 yr old! She's getting £100 towards it and she has to stump up the rest, and absolutely NO contract - I feel soooooooo mean but what can I do

Seansgirl · 20/12/2006 10:49

Yellowfeathers LOL at elephant, im presuming its a baby one

Spinasnowflake, they are spooky arent they sure they must have sixth sense. My DB at similar age muttered to my mum one xmas eve when semi-asleep "is that you mary? its me joseph..." strange as never been a religious family. Course he denies it.

Sherbert37 · 20/12/2006 10:55

Yes, make the most of these innocent (and inexpensive) requests as they become far more specific when the kids are older. MY DD asked for a snowman ice lolly when she was 3 so we wrapped it in tin foil and put it in the freezer. I found it was Santas asking which started the mania for lists.

zookeeper · 20/12/2006 11:03

a present. (DS2 age 3)

IdreamofClooney · 20/12/2006 13:54

lostinfrance re leopard print slippers.....I frequent cheap shops such as QS looking for bargains and yesterday came accross leopard print slippers in child sizes. so if you are near a QS (does that stand for quick save??) then go and bag her a pair - think they were £3 or £4.

snowydelight · 20/12/2006 13:58

DD (3) seemed quite oblivious to the whole thing, despite her two big brothers, so I didn't even think of asking her what she wanted. Then she ran in the other day saying "can Santa bring me a scooter". It wasn't what I had planned but as her birthday is in February it was fairly easy to get the scooter and I'll save what I had already bought her for her birthday. Specific is easy but far less cute!

BettySpaghetti · 20/12/2006 14:00

DS (2.5) wants Father Christmas to bring him:

some ice-cream
a comb
some caterpillars

-thankfully Hawkins Bazaar came up trumps with wind-up caterpillars
