Was talking to the mother of one of DS's classmates. And he said he wanted a flying dominoes game. This puzzled his Mum who sat down with the Argos/ELC/Toys r us catalogues and tried to find it. Anyway the boy was eventually sick of being badgered and just said "don't worry mummy you will get to see it at Christmas" in an exasperated tone of voice.

Fortunately one of her DH's colleagues has come up with the goods.

lol

I can guess what my 2yo ds wants

A proper screwdriver like daddy's
A set of car keys
Some biscuits
A remote controlled car he saw (we have actually got him this - I am worried, dp is insistent)
A watch
Some wrapping paper
To live at Granma's house
A sharp knife or pair of sissors

..well he's got the car!

HoHoHorsewoman · 18/12/2006 22:27

DBW, just remembered I bought her glow-in-the-dark stars to go in her stocking! See, I'm that in tune with my offspring! However, failed to see the others coming..

If any one knows what a 'push button Thomas' is I'd be grateful, it's the only thing my ds (3) has asked for and I've no idea what it is......

octobermum · 18/12/2006 22:38

My dd (2.11) wants bigpresents.

Hasn't ask for anything just bigpresents

Busyalexsmummy · 18/12/2006 22:50

We have a thomas that you press the man on the front down and her speeds off?? maybe?

cazzybabs · 18/12/2006 22:52

or a battery operated thomas for a brio track?

sorkycake · 18/12/2006 23:05

Last year it was chips, beer and a sword - Ds aged nearly 2. This year a tent, outta the blue, with no warning stunning both Santa and myself. When pressed he pointed at Santa and declared himself to be "only 2 you know"!
This year Dd (4.5) has asked for a hat. When pressed she'll say a funny hat, ffs.
It's like mission impossible!

busybusymum · 18/12/2006 23:08

A friends DD asked for a bottle of ketchup one year. (cant remember her exact age but was over 5 yo and she really meant it!)

MerryChipmonkAndAHappyNewey · 18/12/2006 23:08

One year ds1 wanted a real magic wand like Harry Potter's that actually worked. Santa gave me a pitying look as we left the grotto and commented "Tough one!" in a distinct Dublin accent.

PrincessPeaHead · 18/12/2006 23:10

hey spiceymulled shiraz you can get wind up, walking, chattering teeth at Hawkins Bazaar. Honest! I've bought some for ds2's stocking

Peridot30 · 18/12/2006 23:25

My dd who is 3 is very adamant that she wants a dolls house, which is fine but it has to have a roof that comes off with a man that cooks the dinner and a lady that watches tv!! You can tell what happens in our house

Glitterygookwithchocsonthetree · 18/12/2006 23:25

OMG, this is making me ROFL!

Mine have been pretty easy with ds1 (5.9) wanting a Darth Vader lightsaber (red), some cars, some planes, some motorbikes.

Ds2 is 4 and all he wants is 'cars'. Even is his letter to Santa from nursery says 'cars'. Although yesterday he was saying to me 'no, planes', 'no actually trains', 'and cars'...

ARrghghgh!

Loved TheChristmasArmadillo's ds wanting some biscuits - my ds3 (2) would be over the moon with a packet of biscuits too!

ninja · 18/12/2006 23:26

my dd (3) has asked for a 'weein, pooin, talkin doll' - that always quietens Santa (and me - the talking got added after the said doll had been bought. But bless she does only want one thing.

brimfull · 18/12/2006 23:32

ds said he wanted
A handle (?)

finally figured it out to be a gun he'd seen in a toy shop. The pirate type .
