Baby Chip is so cute - love those baby curls.

Awww lovely pictures of Martha and BabyChip.

I did have a quickie looksie at the M&S Food for 2016 (very innovative and some of it a bit weird though I like the look of the chocolate totrilla chips)

DD and I went Up Larndan but no sign of Christmas Trees (though on the John Lewis Info boards which tell you what's on which floor , it had "Christmas Shop- Seasonal". Near enough Xmas Wink )

SideOrderofChip · 30/07/2016 23:19

The last day of July then we're into a brand new month.

I'm writing some (rough) lists and planning some decluttering.

ConstantlyCooking · 31/07/2016 17:43

I have decided to buy baubles as holiday souvenirs- it's not about Christmas, no it's all about the holiday yes it is all about Christmas Wink

Paperblank · 31/07/2016 17:58

Woolly she was watching Bing Bunny on the iPad...nothing comes in between her and Bing!

Chips Martha says hi to Baby Chips Grin. Can I ask where you got your amber teething necklace from? Has it helped?

70 my friend makes cinnamon sugar tortilla chips. They are amazing (esp. If you dunk them in chocolate sauce. I'll get the recipe for you. Once you try them it's fatal...your bum gets bigger Shock

Constantly it's always all about Christmas. 🎄🎄🎄

I'm planning on making some salt dough ornaments this week with Martha Stinky Moo I saw a good recipe on Pintrest. Will post a pic if they are any good.

Paperblank · 31/07/2016 20:05

Great for planning ahead - although it is a bit Americanised.

SideOrderofChip · 31/07/2016 22:34

Ratbagcatbag · 01/08/2016 13:38

Fell off the thread Xmas Shock

christmasid2 · 01/08/2016 21:44

hello lovely xmas thread, i'm a bit behind so haven't read the last few pages of the thread, will try and catch up later, so I hope my post isn't badly timed but I just wanted to check in here for a mo.....been on another part of mumsnet today where people are so, so nasty and it's always nice to think of this lovely Christmas thread glimmering away in the background like the embers of a Christmas log :-) Xmas Grin

TheWoollybacksWife · 01/08/2016 22:01

Hello christmasid

Christmas and Arts and Crafts are my MN safe havens. There are whole sections that I'm much too much of a coward to post in and other sections that I read with this Shock face Grin

christmasid2 · 01/08/2016 22:35

hello woollyback, thanks for the tip about Arts and Crafts :-)

My mistake was posting in a bitchy section, next time i'm going to try Chat.
It's really sad that people spend time just posting hate, but even worse when you think that this is mumsnet, so they've probably got kids that they're bringing up to be just as hateful.
Anyway, in nice fluffy xmas news, I found a brilliant kids santa suit at a clothes bank today! :-)
thanks again for your post woolly :-)

Its positively autumnal here today Xmas Grin

SideOrderofChip · 02/08/2016 07:27

And yes christmasaid we are lovely in here :) Its quite a bunch of regulars all year round in here (everyone else piles in closer to Christmas) so we ask about kids. Especially bargain thread babies!

lozabella · 02/08/2016 07:42

I announced it was "just under 5months to Christmas" in our staff meeting yesterday...greeted with groans. But we've started looking at Christmas party ideas so it's not just me! I had the heating on last night and was thinking how lovely it will be when it's nice and cold outside all the time.

Tis DH's birthday today. I made him cry with one of his presents - soft old sod!

SideOrderofChip · 02/08/2016 08:15

Paperblank beat ya to it :P

TheWoollybacksWife · 02/08/2016 10:48

I was at CentreParcs last week. On Sunday evening we were walking back to our villa and there was a definite whiff of Autumn about. It must have been wishful thinking due to the dappled sunlight through the trees, the earthy smell and the smoke from next door's BBQ because it was actually a very pleasant summer evening. Blush

I do start thinking even more about Christmas once we have been on holiday though - and the grim drizzly day today certainly doesn't shout August to me Xmas Grin

BiddyPop · 02/08/2016 12:11

Well, I haven't managed to get much further over the weekend.

I did find a lovely wooden angel decoration to add to DB and DSIL's "Bride's Basket" collection - they are into wood. I can always use the ceramic one I had in my box for someone else.

I started the conversation with DM about Christmas events. We've agreed on us coming for evening dinner (well, that was kinda expected on both sides) and that we will have a birthday party for DD the following day (I half think she was hoping to be asked to host - but we need neutral ground between the 2 DGMs!). And she knows, and now knows that I know about elder DB coming home for Christmas (with DSIL and DNiece) - but we're both not to let others know until DB is ready much closer to the time (we think a DSis is likely to travel as well when she knows if it's feasible - which it may just about be).

I spent a pleasant couple of hours waiting for DD to finish her surfing lesson - surfing the web in a cosy coffee shop. (Twas miserable drizzle outdoors with a cold wind - quite like winter in fact Xmas Grin!). And checked on the dates for the Holiday Grand Plan starting (28th August). So I plan to go back onto that site today and printing off the calendars and starting my planning properly there.

Ratbagcatbag · 02/08/2016 13:00

It sounds organised to me Biddy.

We've finally decided we aren't doing a pub Christmas lunch this year. We will host (again) but it's not too bad. My mum and db and my mil only come for three or four hours so we get plenty of us time too.
I picked up a fab bargain on the Shopkins Ice cream van £13.68 from £20 too so that's in the loft Xmas tub.
