Hi all. Sorry fell off grid. July was a very busy and expensive month. I bought my first two xmas presents on sunday and DS2 a birthday present. Can't believe we are in August already. Happy birthday to your DH Paper**. It my wedding anniversary today. It's so cold and wet not lilke my wedding day it was roasting

mimsnet · 02/08/2016 16:07

Sounds organised to me, too, Biddy.

Welcome back, Lolly, and happy anniversary! Flowers

It's feeling autumnal here; I love summer but I prefer the thought of being in a cosy jumper!

By the way, JL have reduced some Christmas cards to clear, can you buy them all before I get more tempted? We already have enough for three Christmases! Xmas Grin

Autumnal here , there were yellow leaves on the grass verges , Xmas Shock they should be Green and still on the trees.

BiddyPop · 03/08/2016 10:11

Another wet start here.

And a slow start for me - DH went off at 5am to the airport, and I then heard the alarm on the ipad go off, so I turned that off thinking it was his backup. But he'd already reset it, so it was in fact an alarm for me (and I think my old clock radio one is on the blink) so instead of getting up at 7am, I arose at 5 to 9!! Yikes, that was a bit of a dash to work.

But getting things done now - and as I was so late, I got a seat on the train and started filling in the calendar for the autumn (I am not great most of the year, but Sept-Dec come under a Christmas plan so that DOES get done!).

I love this thread Grin everyone else just groans and glares at me when I try and count down to Christmas.

Added stress for us this year; I get married on December 18th Shock

thanks for your welcome......so what's a bargain thread baby?

well the only xmas news I have to report today is that baby's xmas bib still needs de-staining! I don't mind bib stains normally but ones that look like mould are a bit much.
hope you all have a lovely restful night!

nickdrakeslovechild · 04/08/2016 09:01

Bargain thread babies are born to those on this and Reasties Christmas bargain threads. We are a pretty friendly bunch Xmas Grin and so much calmer in here than other parts of the site!

nickdrakeslovechild · 04/08/2016 09:03

Nearly forgot 143 after seeing another thread on here I am looking at Christmas things to do, have booked our local panto and doing a breakfast with Santa. Deciding if I need to do something else "Big" ??

SideOrderofChip · 04/08/2016 09:25

SideOrderofChip · 04/08/2016 10:07

This looks AMAZING

BiddyPop · 04/08/2016 10:35

I was bored for a few minutes at work yesterday, so I went onto the National Concert Hall's website to check their calendar and found a few nice concerts over the season. I only booked 1 so far (a lunchtime one by the choir from the local music conservatoire (?) 3rd level institute - my DSis was in the choral society of that institute so I first saw the serious choir at her Christmas concert and try to go when I can as it is lovely). But I booked 2 tickets as I am hoping the DMIL can be persuaded to come up to it (a Friday) and stay the weekend with us - I won't broach that for a while yet, but it only costs me €5 if she doesn't, and yet if she does, could be an important step as she'd have to get the train up most likely (free travel), with DBIL dropping her to the train and me collecting her off the train. Instead of DH having to go down to her. Fingers crossed.

I picked up a birthday present for DUncleIL this morning, but also ordered a book that I think DH will like (currently out of stock) as part of his Christmas present.

There's a definite autumnal feel - I have a cardigan on today and contemplating what to bring back into my wardrobe from summer storage. But I also had a lovely 45 minutes drinking coffee and starting my real planning for the next while.

TheWoollybacksWife · 04/08/2016 15:26

As the greying and demented parent of a 17 year old I can assure you that you won't have any problems persuading her to sleep Grin

Paperblank · 04/08/2016 17:55

Grin Woolly you can remind me of this in 2033 when I am moaning about the fact I can't dig her out of her pit!

BiddyPop · 04/08/2016 18:09

Woolly - do you promise? Deadly Dog promise??!! I've got a 10 year old who believes sleep is for the weak - goes to bed an hour after I send her (so no down time at night) and is up by 7am every weekend, crawls in with us about 6am midweek.....
