Yes, bells come in a little red white and green box. Ds1 loves the film, he watched it last week. DH said xmas films in april there's now doubt he's your kid.

Sorry I've been MIA again - Cub camp is proving a bit of a nightmare to organize! But each Patrol will have to sing their campfire song - and 1 chose Jingle Bells. To go with that, as we also have to have a skit of some sort, I found a Scout camp version of "Twas the night before Christmas" (about pizza deliveries) and I have printed that to read out. My part of the Christmas effort!

Happy belated birthday Constantly - I hope it continues as it started. A friend told me last year (well, 18 months ago, when I celebrated a birthday with a 0) that all years there is a Zero in the number must be a year of celebrations, not just marking the day. So we have 2 reasons to celebrate all year here!! (I'm watching that space 70!)

Who is buying a Christmas shop? I'd definitely work in that - I visit every Christmas shop I can find on holidays (I managed NYC, Boston, Disney, and one in Banff in Canada so far). DH has finally accepted it, my DM was a bit Hmm when I did it in Canada (wider family holiday).

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/04/2016 18:13

Xmas Grin I was looking at things I want for my Birthday (presumptous moi? ) for DH or the DC to buy me (then I can look surprised)

The Christmas Shop was "Christmas angels" in York (this was last year, so it's most likely sold now) it was a lovely toyshop with a year-round Christmas Shop at the back. Really nice but the market must be a bit limited . And the commute would be a drag.

The shop in Tooley Street was gone when we went there in June. Xmas Sad

Another milestone Countdown number.

Might get DH to re-pot our living Christmas Tree this Bank Holiday. We bought it 6 years ago, it wear solar lights all year round , never complains Xmas Smile

We're off to the garden centre this weekend, (along with the rest of the population probably...) We're going to get bedding plants for the garden but what I really want to buy is Christmas stuff!

nickdrakeslovechild · 28/04/2016 21:34

I've been to the Christmas shop in Bath before, it was lovely. There are not too many around now Xmas Sad

nickdrakeslovechild · 28/04/2016 21:58

Just ordered a new Christmas jumper and skirt from Boohoo! £7 delivered, get in!

TheWoollybacksWife · 29/04/2016 07:59

You are a bad influence nick Xmas Grin. Both DDs now have new Christmas jumpers winging their way here. DD1 doesn't even usually wear one - but this has a quote from Elf on and that will tickle her.

Nick I'm afraid I have to concur with Woolly - except that I spent a bit more than that (€24 for jumpers). One is about not being calm - as I am renowned for being the calm one (and also for being a Christmas nut!). I will wear that to Scouts. And work. And possibly "down home".

It certainly feels wintery enough for Christmas out there today. I need to root out a Santa hat (if I have one at home - they might all be in the storage unit) tonight, to being on camp tomorrow. One patrol's campfire song is "Jingle Bells" (I had NO influence on it! Xmas Grin I Swear!!) - and I found a version of "Twas the Night before Christmas" about Scout camp to read at campfire as well.

Oh, God, camping in this temperature - is it too late to back out of being a Leader?!

Oh,God,camoing in this temperature-is it too late to back out of being a Leader?

Yes.
Xmas Grin You did ask............................................

Get your thermals on and get under canvas. Show 'em what you're made of.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas' and some marshmallows to toast (for the non-vegetarians) you'll be fine Xmas Wink

nickdrakeslovechild · 30/04/2016 22:04

ha ha, boohoo must wonder what's going on selling lots of Christmas jumpers in April , Love it Xmas Grin

Well today has been an emotional roller coaster.

DD1 left a few minutes ago for a month away in Europe which is very Sad for me but Grin for her. As a "last day at home for a while" treat we all went to the cinema and then out for lunch.. At lunch DD1 noticed that there was a stone missing from my ring. I was inconsolable as the ring was a gift from DH and has three stones representing our three DC Blush soppy devil

I walked around town with my eyes glued to the floor in the vain hope that I'd find it. Got home and searched the bed without any success. Then as DD1 was saying her goodbyes I spotted the stone on the rug at her feet.

So I'm MNing and planning to eat my own body weight in chocolate with relief.

Paperblank · 02/05/2016 16:05

Woolly Oh I would have cried with relief!

DD1 will be home before you know it - full of tales of her travels.

Enjoy your chocolate GrinChocolate

Xmas Shock stroke of supremely good luck finding your stone Woolly , you must have the vision of a bird of prey.

Your DD will enjoy her adventures and return more wordly (and hopefully appreciate you all the more)

Thank you Paper the chocolate was lovely and DD1 has arrived safely so all good now. My DDs are thrilled with their sweaters but I did get the Hmm face from DH and his mini me DS.

There are gorgeous patterns on Pinterest for Christmas themed baby hats. I'll happily make one for Martha once I've finished my knitting and crochet for the bajillion babies my nieces and nephews are having this year.

TheWoollybacksWife · 03/05/2016 21:29

Cross post with you 70. Thank goodness for my varifocals - my eyesight is obviously making up for my rapidly deteriorating hearing, although thanks to a thread on here I'm going to give ear wax micro suctioning a go. I will not be posting on Sporner Corner though Grin
