Happy Birthday Martha Iris Grin
Beautiful little girl (worth all the effort and worry Paper Wink )

Enjoy the newborn snuffly snuggles and rest while you can (and eat Cake and Chocolate )

She must be MN newest baby I reckon.

AbbyCadabby · 24/02/2016 15:30

Happy Birthday to little Daisy (unless labour was today but birthed after?).

And huuuuuge congratulations PB, welcome to the world, Baby Girl! Flowers
Enjoy your new daughter!

Thanks abby ds's birthday was yesterday. It's all Star Wars and sports stuff with him now! I have dc3 at 15mo for the baby cuddles, but seeing baby Martha makes me broody all over again Grin a squishy newborn in time for Christmas!

Hope all is well with the papers xx

YetAnotherAlias · 24/02/2016 21:05

Paper congratulations, she is absolutely beautiful! And what a lovely name! I am not broody, I am not... she lies Grin The run up to Christmas 2016 will be even more magical for you now.

Sigh, newborn snuffly snuggles... and she's off again

ConstantlyCooking · 24/02/2016 23:10

Congratulations paper! I hope you are managing to relax and enjoy this special time.
(Wanders off feeling broody - six foot teenagers just aren't as cuddly!)

BiddyPop · 25/02/2016 09:34

Welcome to the world Martha Iris. And I hope Paperblank and MrPaperblank are doing ok too (and not in too much shock at what they have unleashed on the world)! She's gorgeous!! (Nope, not in the least broody at thoughts of snuffly snuggles and tiny warm bodies) 10 year olds do not seem to have either a volume or activity level adjuster in the mornings - just full blast ON!!

Happy belated birthday to MrDaisyJunior. (Didi you know, if you have to travel for Christmas, Samsonite has a Star Wars luggage set!!)

303 And a Happy Rudy Day!! Xmas Grin

Today, I am recovering from the latest chest infection (at least this time the anti-b's actually kicked in properly!) and hoping the painter does finish up so I can put my house back in some sort of order over the weekend. Oh, and I have a workshop in DD's clinic for sensory stuff, which hopefully will give me more coping strategies!

Not a lot of Christmas prep on the agenda....

daisydalrymple · 25/02/2016 11:16

Ooh Star Wars luggage... I'll go off and peruse that now...
And dc3 is 16mo today Grin I had never heard of the rudolf day concept till joining this thread!

As ds1 and dd were both spring babies, they were fairly alert for their first christmas, but ds2 was still at the cuddly newborn 2mo stage. It was nice being big and fat and pregnant at christmas with the older two! Dd is off with tonsillitis, and just said she really would absolutely love a sister. Trying to explain we can't choose, I'm ancient, and dh would probably pass out isn't the easiest Grin

Anyway, onto festive issues. I already have a couple of stocking items! Stationery sets (ruler, pencil, compass etc) in ASDA sale £2 each, and a lovely 3x notebook sets each, as they get through so much paper and its a stocking staple. I don't really get going till the autumn, as like to choose nearer the time, but these are fab quality and a bargain.

Hope you feel better soon biddy.

Not so good on my saving in envelopes so far- I'd filled the postie and recycling/ refuse christmas tips envelopes then we had to get a plumber in to look at the bath tap and that was the only cash in the house (and now DH knows of my secret stash too!)

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/02/2016 21:47

Ooh get well soon Biddy

Yes to Rudolph Day , I told someone at work it was now 10 months to Christmas (they thought I was bonkers conkers Xmas Wink )

My DS is stealth cuddly (he's 16 and 5'10" and will wander through and sit on my lap, mainly I think to dig his bony little arse bones into my leg. But he leans his bristly little chin on my head , quite sweet)
DD is nearly 14 and still cuddly.
My guinea-pig should be cuddly but she is a bitey one (DD has two non bitey guineas, hmmmm )

nickdrakeslovechild · 25/02/2016 21:53

My little piggies are not coming now 70 so upset about it Sad, but am sill working on it so not lost all hope.

Congratulations and enjoy your snuggles paper she is gorgeous.

Aww nick Sad about the piggies , keep guineas in mind they are fabulous but also boars especially need a lot more space than you'd imagine

My DD loves the boars (we have our 4th boar at the moment, he's a soppy article) it's the sows that rule the roost Wink

ConstantlyCooking · 27/02/2016 09:52

But we are only 4 weeks away** from Easter which I know many of us are planning to celebrate.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 27/02/2016 21:03

Xmas Grin Good Friday is the next Rudolph Day.
It'll possibly snow too ( I think 2005 was snow at Easter, it was late March same as this year. We had to do the Easter Egg Hunt indoors )

We have an Easter Tree (indoors)
An Easter Egg Wreath (on the door)
And the DC get a bag of Easter Eggs (I'm already sourcing the bags )

I don't go as far as Easter Crackers ( I have seen them in shops) but we have a nice tablecover (green) , Rabbit printed napkins, ceramic bunny spoons.
I usually give the DC a Good Friday present (like the Christmas Eve Hamper) underwear, bath smellies.

We have our food traditions (DH and I are vegetarian so no roast lamb here) but we always have chocolate crispie nest cakes with Mini Eggs at tea time.

My DC are teenagers so I am Sad that all the Traditions we did are tailing off now.
DS just pats my head in a "There There" way, DD still plays along for my benefit.

Congratulations Paper! Flowers

What a beautiful baby! Smile

Have you already been perusing any 'first Christmas' merchandise? Xmas Grin

daisydalrymple · 28/02/2016 18:58
Xmas Grin Ahh thanks Abby, I did try [cgrin] so I was close-ish at a stretch!!!
Paperblank · 28/02/2016 19:15

Guitar

She already has Christmas PJ's and a dressing gown Grin.

I suspect she will be in Christmas Attire from mid November!

Guitargirl · 28/02/2016 19:21

Aww! And yes - why absolutely not? We all only have one first Christmas! (Not that she will remember any of it of course but the photos will be fab!)

daisydalrymple · 28/02/2016 19:29

Ooh paper! Hope you're all having fun getting to know each other and are settling down as a family! (And probably getting more sleep than 16mo dc3 allows me ...)

Yes good idea re christmas attire from November. Ds is still wearing his Robin vests and snowman tanktop, as they're lovely, and still plenty of room in them!

We're already down a hundred....eek!

I am feeling more human this week - a combination of drugs working, making myself get some rest, and actually doing some stuff to the house to get it in order and getting some fresh air over the weekend (Cub scout meeting was in our "2nd Den" - the local park in an old quarry, so a short hike, combined with geology, climbing/safety and history lessons, and then game of rounders!).

We had a painter in last week as well, so chaos has been somewhat sorted (partly caused by his presence, partly because his presence meant we needed to clear certain spaces which we then put back together tidily!).

Lots of rain here today, so I am procrastinating - I am supposed to be writing legal instructions but am instead hunting for inspiration about organizing Cub camp (main leader asked me to take over logistics of 1 of this year's camps, EEEKKK!!!!).

BiddyPop · 01/03/2016 11:26

No news to report today. Another procrastinating type day, although I really ought to get on with the legal stuff. Could do with 2 days solid sleep though. And DH announced last night that, instead of driving to 1 city in this country for an overnight on Thurs, he has to go to Paris on 6am flt tmrw and back at midnight thurs, and he still doesn't know who is coming to stay at the weekend (he was supposed to drive MIL back up with him, who is very "yes, oh no, oh maybe I will, oh I can't face it, sure DD (her DD) will stay too as her DH is away"......for the past 2 weeks).

So I go from BIL (DH's DB) and DNephew (definitely staying and going to a match with us), to including MIL (fine - spare room has 2 beds but DN can sleep up in DD's room as she has a chair that pulls out into a bed and they get on great), to potentially also having SIL as well (who is pg and needs a bed) and no place to put her. And DH won't let me make up 2nd bed in guest room until Fri as "it's nice as it is" (we just did it up, finally, and the 2nd bed is still under the 1st).

But I have Cubs on Saturday morning before we trek into town for the match (and DH is suggesting Ikea between Cubs and match). Work all week, another sensory workshop for helping DD on Thursday afternoon, organize getting DD to her final communications workshop tomorrow (which DH was supposed to be doing), clear up after painter leaves tonight (DH will do some but not all that needs doing), and find time somewhere to get food in (which I can't plan ahead now and order online as I have no idea how many I am feeding or how many meals - I know BIL/DN is only 1 night but not a clue about other potential guests, which could be up to 3 nights and extra lunches too).

I may ignore the fact I am still on anti-b's tonight and have a good large wine or 2 with 2 friends I am meeting for an early bird dinner after work.

BiddyPop · 01/03/2016 11:27

What a weird little bit of number freakery - the post for 299 days was post 298, and the post for 298 days was post 299!! Sorry, we're into 300's now and going up.....Xmas Grin

daisydalrymple · 01/03/2016 12:05

Hi biddy thanks for the countdown! Hope you're feeling better soon and all is resolved.

Dydd gwyl Dewi hapus / happy St David's day one and all. Making Welsh cakes later with dd. And I realised earlier I'd mixed up the Easter dates and thought it was the week after, due to the dcs breaking up on the 24th, as they usually break up the week before rather than the day before. Nice to have something to plan Smile
