Silver sequinned camisole top, Frey skinnies, black knitted jacket.

Or grey silk dress over footless tights.

Both will be accompanied by sheepskin slippers. So glam!

ScarlettDarling · 21/12/2015 18:36

philoslothy where is that beautiful skirt from? I loooooves it!

Philoslothy · 21/12/2015 18:37

LK Bennett

Philoslothy · 21/12/2015 18:40

it is in the sale

ScarlettDarling · 21/12/2015 18:44

Yikes...£200 for a skirt is more than I can justify! It's beautiful though!

CakeNinja · 21/12/2015 18:47

IAm that's really sad to hear you feel that way about yourself Sad

I don't dress up cos I can't be arsed, but dp usually irons a shirt which I find baffling as we are just staying at home!

Talisin · 21/12/2015 18:49

Plain black top, silky black trousers and hopefully this over the top, if it turns up in time.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/12/2015 18:50

Nilby - where is your grey silk dress from? I might wear mine (v old Kew one) on Boxing day. Grey silk is one of my favourite things!

Philoslothy · 21/12/2015 18:52

Very glam talisin

vvviola · 21/12/2015 18:59

I was having a bit of a strop because I've put on a lot of weight this year (stress) that I don't intend to be on me this time next year, so I thought there was no point in buying anything, and none of my nice things fit me.

And then I said sod it, went into Evans at lunch time and found a nice, quite flattering black and silver dress that I will wear with black tights and a silver cardigan. Comfy enough to sit on the floor with the DC, and glam enough for drinks round the neighbours.

And if it only gets worn once, so be it, it'll be a good donation for the charity shop when it's too big for me Grin

SecretLocation · 21/12/2015 19:19

This from H&M sale (if link works!)

remus I love grey anything, I have a rainbow of grey!

Dress is an all saints one, so can be worn loose and unstructured with leggings or skinnies or belted and more dressed up. I think DH has got me an all saints jacket for Christmas!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/12/2015 19:53

Sounds lovely - and wow re your dh! Great present choice.

Wagglebees · 21/12/2015 21:18

Iam If you want to dress up you absolutely should. If you don't want to look for something now, what about a really sparkly necklace or earrings? Fancy shoes? Glittery eyeshadow. Just something you wouldn't wear for everyday so you can mark it like you remember your parents doing.

I mostly don't get dressed up on Christmad day because I like feeling very comfy and cosy on that day but if being a big glam is what you want to do then do it! ✨✨✨

Wagglebees · 21/12/2015 21:22

*Christmas
*a bit glam

My phone hates me.

TeaFathers · 21/12/2015 21:23

jeans and a long sleeved cotton top. what i wear most days. i don't dress up for xmas.

shadowfax07 · 21/12/2015 21:46

Black leggings, a sparkly purple T-shirt and a grey cashmere cardigan, and, for some of the time, a Christmas apron Grin

esiotrot2015 · 22/12/2015 10:06

I tried to find some black jeans in town yesterday
They all looked hideous on me
I love the soft skinny ones but at size 14, 11st 8 at 5ft 6 ShockI loved like a whale

esiotrot2015 · 22/12/2015 10:07

I also tried on approx 15 tops but everything looked hideous

PurpleThermalsNowItsWinter · 22/12/2015 10:16

Navy cord skinnies, cream jumper with a camisole under as it's a 'loose' knit so slightly see through.
Still deciding on shoes.

MizK · 22/12/2015 10:23

esiotrot why do you think that? I'm 5 7, about 11st 5 and I don't feel like a whale at all! I wear skinny jeans and feel great in them. Nothing wrong with being of solid build! Don't put yourself down - you can always lose weight if you want to but it's not going to happen in the next couple of days so work with what you've got and stop being mean about yourself!

Tinseleverywhere · 22/12/2015 11:06

Esiotrot I feel skinny at a size 14 since I lost weight this year (was a size 22). Jeans feel great even though the skinny ones are a bit tight still. You have to keep some perspective about weight I am really happy to look fairly normal size and feel healthy. I bet you look fab x

esiotrot2015 · 22/12/2015 11:09

Aw thanks guys sorry for the self pitying post
So if you were skinny jeans do you wear boots that go over them in the winter ? I usually wear boot cut but couldn't find any

TheOptimisticPessimist · 22/12/2015 11:36

Esiotrot you're only a tiny bit heavier than me (handful of pounds) and I'm the same height. I have pretty sturdy legs, they're short with big powerful thighs so I can rarely find jeans that don't make me look bigger (so I just end up resorting to heels).

This is the biggest I've been for a while, but I have a pair of black skinnies that I love and I'll be rocking them at Christmas with my ridiculous Christmas jumper and reindeer antlers, and looking amazing too Grin

Jeans are just a pain to buy, but persevere and you'll find some that work for you!

I have a pair of ankle books and a couple pair of knee highs that I wear over the top and they work brilliantly. It took a little while to get used to i as I tended to wear bootcut too, but I really like it now.

TheOptimisticPessimist · 22/12/2015 11:37

Bold fail. Esiotrot See above ^
