Me. I don;t put decorations up because ds1 takes them all down. Will put up the tree, but am holding off as its too big and irritates me and ds1 starts flicking the lights on and off and goes ballistic if any blow, and ds2 goes into a frenzy of excitement, god only knows what ds3 will do.

Bah hambug.

Getting it on Saturday as moving tomorrow. Will decorate a hosue full of boxes !

Tommy · 13/12/2006 22:47

never do it until the weekend before Christmas - I think you get bored of them by Christmas if you out them up too early

iPodForLifeNotJustForChristmas · 13/12/2006 22:47

Me - couldn't face spending three weeks yelling at DS not to climb it!!!

Need to wait for my parents to come back so I have two more pairs of eyes to help - also need dad to go in the loft as I am banned due to chronic clumsyness

ClementClarkeMoore · 13/12/2006 22:48

I put a few decs up today. We're having a carpet fitted next week so no point putting tree up yet. I usually put it up early too.

Kbear · 13/12/2006 22:51

We haven't. I think DH is getting it on Friday. Must clear out the toy corner tomorrow night or the tree will be in the middle of the room! This year the toy corner will not be coming back in the new year either. I'm having a "toys live upstairs" resolution thing !!

PrincessPeaHead · 13/12/2006 22:52

tree up, lights on, was meant to decorate it tonight (and write christmas cards, and make fairy cakes for school party, and brush out the dogs before their haircut tomorrow, and wrap all the teachers' presents...)

but for some extraordinary reason, I didn't get around to it. can't think why

hoxtonchick · 13/12/2006 22:53

we're not getting ours until the kids break up next week. will pass a few hours nicely i reckon.

mozhe · 13/12/2006 22:53

We've just moved to France and this year are going to abide by the tradition of putting up tree on 24th !

We are not decorated at all and although I might seem a bit of a scrooge I don't think we are going to decorate this year. I'm 6 months pregnant and we are in the process of selling the house and simpy can't face unpacking all the stuff and putting it back again (hoping for completion date in mid Jan)
I might cave in and get some candle holders out but at the moment I just can't be bothered.
Bah humbug

moondog · 13/12/2006 22:55

I'm waiting until my sadly missed dh returns from Turkey on the 21st.
Children very excited about going to get it with Daddy.

Have you just arrived then Mozhe?
How is it going?

PinkTinsel · 13/12/2006 22:56

decs up, tree on friday when the dole comes in

thewoodlandfairy · 13/12/2006 22:57

me

trixymalixy · 13/12/2006 22:57

Me, we're having work done in the house so seems pointless to decorate until it is finished.

We have a tree as we made the mistake of leaving it really late to buy one last year, but it's sitting in some water in the garden till we're ready for it.

QuootiepiesChristmasName · 13/12/2006 22:57

Just done last night & tonight.

moondog · 13/12/2006 22:57

the dole...
Haven't heard that in years.
So people still say it then?

QuootiepiesChristmasName · 13/12/2006 22:58

and Longacres had run out of trees and nearly decorations! Got an awful tree from homebase, but it'll have to do...

PinkTinsel · 13/12/2006 23:00

nobody calls it anything else over here! even the social welfare officers call it the dole!

chocolaterobin · 13/12/2006 23:00

Me.

moondog · 13/12/2006 23:01

(Al;though not at you waiting for yer cash PT.)

I posted on your b/feeding thread.

Jbck · 13/12/2006 23:03

Moved house few weeks ago, currently living in the dining room till lounge floor laid so no tree till then. DD has a little 2ft fibre optic tree in her room to quell the 'when's the tree going up' whines. Aiming for around the 20th, condition of buying this house as DH was keener than me was that I could get the tree up on the 1st as I love to have it up as long as possible

marymillington · 13/12/2006 23:06

We usually leave doing a tree until 22nd/23rd, even xmas eve if we can hold out. Makes decorating it really magical and special. Have made a nod to festiveness by shoving some holly from the garden in with a vase of flowers though.
