Anyone NOT got their tree and decs up yet?

We haven't either. We usually get it the week before Christmas, so will get it this Sunday from the school tree sale.

Not yet. Waiting until Saturday. Get fed up if they are up for weeks before hand.

Not yet given that it isn't actually Christmas yet. Ideally I'll wait until Christmas eve but discovered last year that tree decorating and wrapping presents for ds = very late night so probably do it 22nd.

I really don't understand why so many people put their decorations up so early. Doesn't it make Christmas less special if you have all the decs hanging around for weeks beforehand?

I'm still in mourning for the 1920s Chinoiserie decorations that we used to have when I was little - sadly lost in a house move. Christmas isn't the same without them!

Might put them up on Saturday, not even got the cards up yet, still in a pile on the telly.

I like to limit the time they are up, plus I need to have a good tidy up first each year.

We haven't got any lights - all our decorations have been kept in a Safestore lock-up and the roof there has leaked and the lights got it

We will be getting a tree at the weekend but have a big family party on Sunday and I haven't done cards yet and I am in the middle of finishing decorating DS2's room (it's been an ongoing project since last Nov ) so we may well end up having a festive C Eve tree session, edam

Bought the tree last weekend and stood it in a bucket of water outside to keep it fresh (they all get cut in November unless you go somewhere where they grow their own).

Will probably decorate it on Sat.

Did give in to the extent that we put some coloured lights outside on Sunday - very tasteful though - just little lights, no models of Santa, snowmen etc. I would buy a 10' inflatable Scrooge if they made them, but for some reason I couldn't find one anywhere {fgrin]

no tree and no decs although christmas cards are hung in the blinds. Have some decs that dd1 made at kindy that I might put up. Usually do tree christmas eve.

Tree up here. Wasnt going to bother as we are away for Xmas but DS was disappointed when I said we wouldn't. So it went up last Wed and we finally finished all the bits and pieces on Saturday.

If we weren't going away on 20th would prob have put up this weekend.

Waiting til DS and DH break up next wednesday, otherwise every morning would bring "is it christmas today???" etc etc. Putting up the least I can get away with, and taking it all down again on ythe 27th cos we are going away til after NY.Last year I think they came down on Boxing day

DS1 is 14 on Friday and so we wait until after his birthday. We used to wait a week but now he's started asking if we can put it all up within a day or two of his birthday.

Tree's in the garden waiting for his say so!

I haven't got my tree up yet,why oh why do i always decide to decorate just before christmas?I have done my hall stairs and landing and we're onto the living room now, I have painted the ceiling and 3 walls just waiting for dh to put up the new fireplace and paper the 1 remaining wall and thats done, then i have got to paint the dining room but if i do it it will be done in a day.Hopefully put my tree up on mon/tues at the latest.(knackered emoticon)
