my dd is 11 and has had it pretty rough this year.

I have bought her a beautiful silver ring online for £14.99 and its arrived. Its perfect for her, its so beautiful and elegant and just perfect for her.

I know she will be moved to tears since its her first jewellery. I just cant wait to see her face!

What about you?

My dd, who's 2.9 years old loves Sarah and Duck. I bought her 2 plush figures, that also talk for Christmas. I've wrapped them individually with one being from Mummy and the other from Daddy. Can't wait to see her face.

Also, in her stocking is a little torch, exactly the same as one Daddy has. She covets this particular torch, so will love this one

MIL is spending Christmas with us, her first on her own in 50 years as FIL is now in a care home (will be visiting him). I've bought her a Christmas dressing gown to add to the Christmas pj's that Santa always brings the dc's on Christmas Eve and have decided to do her her own Christmas stocking as well as the kids. Just want to make it a bit more special for her.

DS (5) is obsessed with road sweepers. I got him the Trash Pack road sweeper that sweeps up little trashy monsters. He's sitting beside me on the iPad and has just shown me a video of said toy and told me how cool it is. I think he'll explode and despite having loads of other gifts, this will be the winner. I'm so excited!
Merry Christmas to you all x

A puppycat squishable for dd. which she thinks she's not getting.

You got it in the end viva? I'm so pleased. Was it thanks to squishable Jamie (I think that's the name of the person from squishables)

I've found a belstaff leather jacket for dp and won it after much frenzied bidding on ebay. I know he'll love it and it was a great price - which helps.

VivaLeBeaver · 21/12/2014 12:04

Yes I did get one. Just bought it normally when they came in stock but at least thanks to Jamie I knew to keep checking and actually got one before the email came saying they were in stock.

Love this thread and love your post OP, hope things look up for her soon. You both sound lovely.

I found a book of watercolours on my mum's obsessive "mastermind subject" interest which I'm pretty excited about seeing her open....and various other bits and bobs.

Also got carried away on amazon and bought my favourite kids books for one of my little French babysitting charges (she understands all English but doesn't speak it much)- Each Peach Pear Plum, Winnie the Witch, Can't You Sleep Little Bear etc, all stuff I loved when I was little & learning English myself. They're a lovely close family and she loves books, really like the idea of them discovering the British classics Wink together.
Such a treat to be able to give Each Peach Pear Plum to someone....over here everyone's got a copy somewhere so wouldn't risk it but I think it's one of the best kids books ever. The page where Robin Hood's in his den made me dream so much, still does :)

major overuse of the word 'love' in this post, but it is Christmas so allowed I hope!

Toothless from the Build a Bear Factory (already stuffed weeks ago as I knew they would sell out, and they did) with a roar inside.

DD (6) loves everything about him and will be thrilled.

And I'm about to buy a present for the whole family to use, which will put a huge smile on my DS's (13) face as totally unexpected.
DH is against it as it's quite expensive, but I think I will simply ignore him. I know he will be using it all the time and after a few months will be happy that I bought it.

I'VE got my ten year old dd take that tickets.

She doesn't think she would ever be allowed to go because her friend told her they played until 11 and that's WAY after her bedtime but she loves Gary them sooo much.

Cannot wait to see her face.

I'm most looking forward to my husband opening his present. I've got him a zorbing experience (Google it if you don't know! Grin) it's basically getting in a big plastic ball and rolling down a hill. He's always wanted to do it for some bizarre reason. It is on a gift card so I have put that in a hamster exercise ball which looks like a zorbing ball and wrapped it up. Smile

I can't wait for DD to open her Snow White dress. She has been asking for one for months and asked Father Christmas for it very sweetly, and didn't seen to quite understand when he asked her what else she would like.

Also looking forward to giving my DSis a joke pen that is related to her job. It's a piece of total tat but it will make us both howl Grin

My DD is desperate for flashing shoes (the ones with wee lights in the soles). But she knows that she can't have new shoes until her feet grow bigger so the old ones don't fit. She's had her old shoes for 14 months now(!!!!!!) - it's practically a medical condition (small-foot-it is). She plays with other kids shoes, for AGES at a time. She pretends hers flash.

Santa is bringing her boots with soles that have flashing lights in them. They're cheap ones (£12.50) but I really think she may just explode...and I can't wait!!!!

DD1 (10) is a massive my little pony nerd. She really wanted a certain collection and had hunted high and low for them in the shops coming to the conclusion you can only get them in America.

I found them on Amazon and although they weren't cheap, I can't wait to see her face.

Lovely thread. Chumhum the stocking for mil is such a nice idea.

Mine are, DH - A proper 1984 Ewok, it's preloved from eBay and was a bargain. He coveted them as a child and still talks about the Christmas he thought he'd get one but didn't. I can't wait to see his face.

Dc1 - Minecraft lego, she'll be thrilled.

Dc2 - Batman costume, he's obsessed, I am expecting to be 'saved' from peril many times on Christmas Day. Xmas Grin

I've bought dd2 a digital piano, she is music mad and so her own piano and lessons in the new year is her idea of heaven. She has no idea and so expect squeals Christmas morning.
Ds3 is obsessed with dragons (autism) and I've bought him a model of his all time favourite dragon from the Final Fantasy games. I'll get one of those all too rare smiles for that one I think.

insanity a digital piano, that is amazing, incredible present!
(I love mine)
if you want some fairly easy sheet music, I really recommend this big Beatles book which is great fun to play through & very easy. Once she's learnt some basic chords and can sightread c major scale she'll be able to play lots of stuff from it.

Ooh thank you velour I'll put that book in my Amazon basket it's full of songs that she knows and sings as well. She might be 11 but she's mad about music from the sixties and seventies and has been since she was a tot.

I'm now more excited at some ludicrously expensive Vivienne Westwood undercrackers for DP. They now sell the Japanese import ones in the shop and are stupidly overpriced but hey, he'll be happy.

Insanityscratching, one year I got my young son about 40 yu-gi-oh figures all from China (and probably full of lead). I put them all in a posh shoebox and that was him for the rest of the holidays! I hope you son loves his dragons half as much!
