my dd is 11 and has had it pretty rough this year.

I have bought her a beautiful silver ring online for £14.99 and its arrived. Its perfect for her, its so beautiful and elegant and just perfect for her.

I know she will be moved to tears since its her first jewellery. I just cant wait to see her face!

What about you?

I found a necklace with the Charmed symbol on, a tiny pendant. I have bought two, one each for me and my dsis as we have always been Charmed mad. Yes we are middle aged mothers. But they are so lovely, and my dsis will be thrilled. Can't wait for Wednesday!!!

MistletoeAndWine111 · 18/12/2014 21:45

I can't wait to give my Dsis an amazing painting someone has done on a canvas of her and her Dh on there wedding day, she lost her Dh a couple of months ago so suddenly and tragically and this canvas is amazing, it also has a personal poem my Dh wrote about there life together written on it. It will bring tears but I know she will treasure it forever Smile

Our children I can't wait for ds to open his phone he has been saving for one for ages but we have now brought it for Xmas.

Dd has a mini iPad and she has no idea it's coming.

Kbear · 18/12/2014 21:46

My DD is nearly 16 and I'm taking her for make over and make up lesson at MAC in Selfridges on Oxford Street on Tuesday.... she has no idea and will F R E A K out... she's been on about MAC and is really interested in theatrical make up so I'm so excited and can't wait to get her to open the box that contains the booking card, once we are on the train!

AND.... bargain of bargains.... you pay £50 for the session then get to redeem that against £50 of products.

theITgirl · 18/12/2014 21:49

Can we all come back on boxing day, to say how well it went?

Storytown · 18/12/2014 21:50

I've got DH some jelly meercats. He's always loved meercats - long before they became famous Grin and they have a special place in my memories of our courtship - that's how long ago it was!

Anyway, there's a charity that leave snacks and an honesty box in our staff room, so my best present has cost £1, which went to charity Smile

Mama1980 · 18/12/2014 21:51

Showy, I'm a archaeologist and sometimes help out when I get a minute at young archaeologist days, they re fab. I hope your dd loves it -excellent career choice there WinkSmile

I'm most excited about giving my dd her Apple computer, she knows I can afford it but has never once asked instead is slowly saving for it (she's 17 and works as well as studying) can't wait to see her face!
My ds1 it has to be his parcel of cuddly microbes, odd child loves science.
My ds2 build a bear turtle,
Dd2 not much she's only a year but loves water so has a lovely new boat for the bath.

FelixFelixNavidad · 18/12/2014 21:54

I have two - a very expensive merino wool cycling jersey which my DP will love, that I got brand new on eBay for £23 (should have been about £120!!).

Then I've sewn him a secret personalised stocking from DD filled with presents from her. He has no idea. It's hidden in my underwear drawer Grin

happsymum · 18/12/2014 22:03

mistletoeandwine111 ive honestly teared up just READING what you've bought! what a special special gift! Amazing.

TheHappinessTrap · 18/12/2014 22:09

My mother has had a terrible year. I'm getting her a nice handbag. I know it doesn't sound special but she never buys nice things for herself . I respect her ability to prioritise, and I learned good financial management skills from her, but I've spent more on the handbag than anything else. I wake her to feel prioritised and special and for her friends to content on the bag and for her to be reminded each time that she's loved and thought about.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 18/12/2014 22:11

I have crocheted a hippopotamus for dh. The last couple of years, I have made something to go in his stocking - first year a sheep, and a t-Rex last year. This year has been really rough for him - his mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 4 years ago, and did really well with surgery, but then they found spots in her lungs a year ago.

Chemo didn't help, and earlier this year we were told there was nothing else they could do, and MIL started to go downhill quickly - she went into a hospice, was discharged home, and died 2weeks ago - so I want this Christmas to be as good as it can be for him.

DD1 (18) is going off into the big wide world on her own this year, so her presents include a matching set of suitcases complete with rucksack, cabin bag and toiletry bag for when she goes to America in the summer and then to uni in Sep. I've got her a tipi tent for festivals complete with cool bag, flask, picnic blanket and willies. And a 16-25 railcard so that she can get to these places Grin

She has no idea

Loobylou3 · 18/12/2014 22:29

Staronthetree...'willies' made me laughGrin

Enormous HUGS sent your way mistletoe x

MistletoeAndWine111 · 18/12/2014 22:51

Thanks happsymum I hope youand your family have a lovely Christmas Smile

apotatoprintinapeartree · 18/12/2014 23:00

What a lovely thread, mine is quite boring but have bought dd bits and bobs of Emily Strange.
It is hard to find and usually not worth paying double to have it shipped from America, but Amazon came up a treat this time.
Didn't quite get the t shirt that was just made for her, so fitting etc as it would have cost £40+ and I can't justify that.

ElfontheShelfIsWATCHINGYOUTOO · 18/12/2014 23:28

STD love your hippp Xmas Grin

ElfontheShelfIsWATCHINGYOUTOO · 18/12/2014 23:29

They're cake boxes from Poundworld believe it or not!

Wowzers!!! what a good idea to look!! may have a quick look at ours this weekend then.

TaytoCrisp · 18/12/2014 23:40

60 page photo book purportedly from DD (4) to DH spanning first 4 years of her life til her little sis (12 weeks old) was born. Its titled "daddy and me" and is full of pics of the 2 of them in chronological order. He will love it and would not usually expect this type of thoughtful sentimental gift from me. Can't wait for her to give it to him.

Oldraver · 18/12/2014 23:52

The Hudl...DS has no idea we have got anything like it. He really wants Minecraft, though we may live to regret it

306235388 · 18/12/2014 23:54

Dd - her skipping rope because it's what she most ever wants from santa apparently!

Ds - more noting from my point of view but ... Football strip and wii game

Dh - cd of a band that's hard to come by and a keyring from the kids

Dm - gorgeous felted brooch

Df- tickets to a show

Everyone else's are pretty standard! I think my youngest nieces will love their pressies but I won't see them open them as they live 600 miles away.
