There must be a squillion threads along these lines, but I looked back a few pages and couldn't find any!

My DH is so hard to buy for, in that he doesn't really have hobbies and he isn't really into stuff that would be me in this relationship.

He likes reading but works such long hours that he only reads on holiday, and his book stack is growing rapidly. I've bought him a nice bottle of aftershave, CDs and some socks but would like to get him a big present, or at least a few nice smaller ones.

Any ideas?

New earphones
A leather wallet
a Joules rugby shirt
pjs and sweets for his Christmas eve box

Janet12Conger · 09/12/2014 11:41

A coffee Mug and the movie tickets of latest movie launch. I love to have both this gifts because I want this type of gifts.

LumionaMoonsplash · 09/12/2014 12:04

Sex

darlingfascistbullyboy · 09/12/2014 15:34

jeans & a jacket from me. I think pretty much everyone else is contributing to his New Suit fund.

MummyPig24 · 09/12/2014 20:49

Ironman 3 DVD and slippers. Maybe some sweets.

Germgirl · 11/12/2014 14:24

Because of this thread I've added a back massager wotsit (Holmedics)and some beard oil to my Amazon basket.
I also saw a recommendation for a nice travel bag & think that's a brilliant idea, I'd like to get DH a nice bag to use when we fly, it doesn't have to be a big one as we don't pack loads for the plane, but at present he's using a ratty old black rucksack thing & I'd like to get something nicer. Has anyone got any suggestions?

VikingLady · 11/12/2014 16:35

New boots. He won't say what else he wants!

TheWordFactory · 11/12/2014 20:29

I've made a start today;

A coffee machine.
A pedometer.
Several books.

Not very inspiring!

happsymum · 13/12/2014 11:16

Just had the idea of a voucher for a very traditional wet shave for my boyfriend and bought others might find this suits their partners too! My boyfriends dad keeps speaking about one and trying to convince him to do it! Think might be lovely and relaxing , like a male equivalent of nails done? GrinBlush no?

happsymum · 13/12/2014 11:16

Thought not bought

RJnomore · 13/12/2014 12:10

Kevin bridges tickets - but then he bought some himself.

Nespresso machine, pods, storage for pods, and espresso cup from one of his favourite small English companies
Fitbit charge
Isley midair aftershave
Molton brown shower gel set
Clinique shave kit
Trickett jumper
Dress shirt from Charles tyrwhitt
Mophie space pack case for his iPhone (storage and extra memory)
Yoda slippers
Bottle of Havana especial
Food and beer hamper
Polo trainer liner socks
DVDs - some films, and Gomorrah tv series
Cd of a band we are going to see next year and an iTunes card
Maltesers
A little pouch that goes onto his shoe laces for his key when running

I think that's it - it's quite a bit isn't it? I was debating FIFA 15 and bluetooth headphones for running too but now I've written it down I might wait for his birthday for them.

He got a fancy camera for out trip to New York in October so that was his main Christmas present. The trip was a combined present too.

Also got

A build your own projector kit for a smartphone
Two hardback books that he's been eyeing up
Pjs
A casual shirt
A home one t-shirt
Leather briefcase/bag

Stocking=
Lots of chocolates
Some American crackers and candy
Mini tub of Pringles
CK boxers/trunks
Neals Yard shower gel
Elemis Moisturiser
Pens
Notebook
Fancy coffee
Bacon jam
A lottery ticket or scratch card (not bought yet obviously)
A home alone t-shirt
A camera/photography magazine

And that's it so far. Not very inspiring but with the NY trip and camera I think it's ok. He always says he doesn't want anything and is very hard to buy for.

Coumarin · 13/12/2014 17:50

Ooh an iTunes card is a good idea RJ

Davros · 13/12/2014 19:29

stevebrucesnose has your DH been to the Harry potter studio tour? He would love it

AmericasTorturedBrow · 13/12/2014 21:55

We're treating ourselves to a night in a local hotel while my parents babysit so that's our main present.

So he has something to open on Christmas day I've got him (bought in spectacular Black Friday sales) Calvin Klein boxers and long cycling tuhts

Jenda · 15/12/2014 23:53

Cider homebrew starter kit
Hoodie
Calender ( themed one he will love)
Bike Computer
Daylight wake clock thingy.
Stocking with yard of jaffa cakes, chocs, miniture bottles of booze

Mousefinkle · 16/12/2014 00:18

Well he wants a PS4 so he's selling the PS3 to a colleague and only having to put £75 towards a new console, don't mind that at all. Also we don't watch live tv so the Playstation is all we have (netflix, iplayer, youtube etc.) so it's useful for the whole family! That's his main gift though I guess.

He's really fussy. I'm doing him a stocking as well but honestly, he doesn't want for anything. He likes sweets a lot so I've got him quite a few bags of different veggie sweets. Socks, undies, shower gel, deoderant, a good hand cream because his hands are awfully dry and cracked this time of year... Then I'll let the DC choose something perhaps. Men are stereotypically so boring Xmas Grin.

PhoebeMcPeePee · 16/12/2014 00:30

Movie projector and outdoor cinema screen (we live in a warm country)
Espresso cups
Calendar from the kids
Socks from the dog
Number plate frame (every number plate has a frame in the USA) that says "my other car is a tardis"
Shorts (his idea, not mine)

callmekitten · 16/12/2014 04:56

Smallish messenger/man bag

Box set of old Sci fi movies

Doctor Who t-shirt

Doctor Who book

Travel bag

And 2 or three other things that I can't remember now even though I just wrapped them up yesterday.

traviata · 16/12/2014 09:19

oh blimey it is difficult. January birthday here as well.

So far I have:
a couple of books off his Amazon wishlist (which is 100% books and CDs);
a book not on the list, which he will look at politely and put to one side;
a couple of DVDs, which he will add to the unwatched pile on the shelf;
a waterproof notebook, which he may like or may give to the DC;
a phone charger;
a novelty pizza cutter, which he will smile at, but privately wonder why (our pizza cutter broke last month, but he is very much of the 'back to basics' school);

and..erm..dunno.

perhaps a fancy pedometer? (then I can have it if he doesn't use it).
