What is your DH getting for Christmas?

There must be a squillion threads along these lines, but I looked back a few pages and couldn't find any!

My DH is so hard to buy for, in that he doesn't really have hobbies and he isn't really into stuff that would be me in this relationship.

He likes reading but works such long hours that he only reads on holiday, and his book stack is growing rapidly. I've bought him a nice bottle of aftershave, CDs and some socks but would like to get him a big present, or at least a few nice smaller ones.

Any ideas?

A pair of Craghopper trousers that I have just had to return because he just brought himself some.

A Tile app to find his lost keys and stuff but it won't arrive in time for Christmas ( or maybe at all according to some)

A funky vintage 70's shirt that's a joke about where we are staying this Christmas.

Socks.

revealall · 03/12/2014 22:33

And for his birthday ( week before Christmas) I got him a personalised book on his favourite team. Which has all the newspaper cuttings from his team over the years.
Unfortunately cut of of the Mirror newspaper which appears to
a) not like his team and
b) missed the the last years which showed them winning.

On the plus side this was thanks to MN which gave me a half price spend code from Very. So I got the book at discount and the 3 filler gifts to bring up the order to £60 for free.
And some Sugru

Rosvita · 03/12/2014 22:35

Main present is a telly for our room - it's all mounted to the wall and everything already ur we can't get it to work! (Argh -no freeview in our area so need to try and link it to our Sky box.)
Other gifts he doesn't know about are - xbox one controller (so he can play with Ds) and a photo panel of his fav picture of Ds at gymnastics.

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 03/12/2014 22:37

College cufflinks and rugby shirt

Cycling gloves

Rosvita · 03/12/2014 22:38

That should have read Dd at gymnastics!

Ikeameatballs · 03/12/2014 22:40

I have bought my boyfriend:

Joules shirt
Wagamama cook book
Hotel chocolat chocs
Mini bottle of port
Personalised mug

avocadotoast · 03/12/2014 22:43

A book
Some pyjamas (which I am yet to buy)
And something else... Maybe some nice chocolates.

We don't spend much, which is good really, because his birthday is straight after Xmas and I hate thinking of stuff for both Grin

MsRinky · 03/12/2014 22:50

An amber ale microbrewery kit and some pyjama bottoms. Oh, and a japanese thing to squish hard boiled eggs into the shape of a bear.

FelixFelix · 03/12/2014 22:50

I've done well with DP. Only spent about £70 as got lots of bargains! Everything should have been much more expensive:

Rapha merino wool cycling jersey (ultimate bargain as it should have been around £130 new and someone was selling an unworn one on eBay and i won it for £23!!)
Issey Miyake aftershave gift set

In his stocking there is:

Rapha cycling socks
Calvin Klein boxers
Cycling magazine
Giant candy cane
Chocolate coins
Photo bauble with a pic of him and dd inside
A cone of sweets

Pantah630 · 03/12/2014 22:58

Polish army greatcoat closest to RAF greatcoat that was destroyed many moons ago
Nick Drake biography
Private Eye annual
Airey Neave biography
Chocolate

He doesn't want anything as usual, hope he'll be happy.

LemonDrizzleTwunt · 03/12/2014 23:12

Pantah I think I want to marry you! Grin

123rd · 03/12/2014 23:13

Sorry to hi-Jack...but I'm looking for a lovely soft cashmere jumper for DH. I bought one from sainsbury before, which is fantastic.
Can't find one this year that's a decent price so if any of you have any ideas I would be ever so grateful.

Optimism · 03/12/2014 23:53

BunnyBunnyMooseMoose, any chance of a link to the zombie-killing board game?! I have a husband who might like that too!

5446 · 04/12/2014 02:05

Couple of non-fiction, politics and science books
XBox 360 games
Swiss Army knife and leather holder to replace the one he lost
Kurt Geiger shoes
Fitbit Flex
Calvin Klein pants and PJs

All for less than 200 quid. I've had a right string of luck with bargains this year.

CheerfulYank · 04/12/2014 02:32

Bottle of brandy
Set of 4 Longmire novels
Boxers
Nice thick sherpa hoodie

I want to get more but can't think!

GreenEyedMonster14 · 04/12/2014 08:05

Mug (tradition)
Normal Socks
Christmas socks
Eddie stobart book
Chocolate
Exfoliating bath mit
Nail brush

Which are all basically stocking fillers. I have no idea what to get him for an actual present! Doesn't help that his birthday was Tuesday so all my good ideas were used up for that.

StockingFullOfCoal · 04/12/2014 08:16

The Silmarillon special edition to go with the other special edition Tolkien books I've bought him over the last 2 years.

Various fandom t shirts from Qwertee.

Dark chocolate Lindt truffles.

StockingFullOfCoal · 04/12/2014 08:18

And a big bottle of Jack Daniels.

DollyMcDolly · 04/12/2014 08:28

Laptop case
Boxers
Massive tub of Lions midget gems
Dr Who Blu Ray
Pompeii Blu Ray
Dressing gown
Wallet

elQuintoConyo · 04/12/2014 08:28

JuniperTisane are you me?

We're getting dining chairs (down to three here) and a big Toblerone for his stocking!

Uncanny!

We may also be pooing our money together and printing our wedding photos from 5 years ago

All very practical; nothing very exciting. Oh, and also a clip-on book light so he can read in bed when I'm asleep!

He is now panicking about what to buy for me. We mostly just buy for DS, but this year he might twig that 'hang on, mum and dad don't have anything to open - what's going on?' type thing.

I may also get a pic of DS looking like James Dean with spikey hair on a cup as a pp mentioned - a black mug that reveals the photo when you poor boiling water in. That'll make him chuckle.

EthelCardew · 04/12/2014 09:48

elQuintoConyo That's a grotesque and hilarious typo!

GirlAnachronism · 04/12/2014 11:52

tsuro board game
south park dvd
hobbit themed messenger bag
2 geeky tshirts
old spice set
childish gambino cd
short stories of the style of HP lovecraft
kindle cover

marne2 · 04/12/2014 12:02

IPad mini ( though I may end up using it too )
Boxer shorts
Lap tray ( to eat his dinner off )
Walnut whirls
F1 t shirt

Butterpuff · 04/12/2014 12:27

A drum kit.

I must be mad

madsadbad if you were looking at heated car seat covers because your DH does a lot of driving then you could also consider a heated massage seat for the car. DH has one and is very happy with it. He has a HoMedics one...we also have a HoMedics massage chair for the house, and a foot massager, oh and a hand held thing for target areas.....I guess that means we would recommend the brand!

bananapuddles · 04/12/2014 12:34

As I will be 20 weeks with our first baby (and DH's birthday is in January and I do try to spoil him a bit for it), I got him the Animalium book which he has looked at longingly but would never buy unless we had children, new guitar strings, a music book of children's songs and a personalised plectrum. He's very excited about the idea of bump being able to hear external noises so I thought he might like to get back into guitar playing and play to the baby! He's also got a onesie (family theme present) and some chocolate/toiletry bits for his stocking.
