So people came here to post pictures of their presents in retaliation?

No not in retaliation some of us thought along side the list threads it would be fun to see in pics too Sad

It seems the many list threads with tons of stuff on them, goes un noticed by the embittered ones, they are OK but my goodness put a pic on and suddenly its a free for all.

See, I'm the type of poster KnittedJimmyChoos could be talking about smile. We've had a shit year, which started with a very sudden and traumatic death of a much loved family member. And recently had very sad news about the health of my bloody brilliant Dad. I don't bother that much with the Christmas threads usually (have been on MN for about 7 years), but have been dipping in and out this year to cheer myself up, distract myself, pass some time and I've enjoyed them

Flowers

Its hard isn't it, it just show how utterly nasty and egotistical some people are.

It worries me we have to share the planet with such nasty miseries.

IgnoreMeEveryOtherFuckerDoes · 09/11/2014 09:31

Interesting that skully because I don't spend that £15 a month on toys, books etc, you choose to spread gifts out through the year so does that make you any better.

When will people get it, that most of us have been able to get excess amounts due to bargains! The mumsnet bargains threads have a lot to answer for, dam them for making people assume we have spent hundreds and thousands when we haven't.

As for the poster who said about interactiving with child, oh please give over

AllThatGlistens · 09/11/2014 09:33

And here starts the bun fight.

SkullytonFlowers · 09/11/2014 09:34

wiggles, i can sympathise, i really can.

i've lost three close relatives this year, including my nan and my dad, my dh lost his job through redundancy and cant get another one and now has depression, i had to take 3 months off work because i have been ill myself and my son has been diagnosed with a ream of special needs, i've found out a relative and a good friend both have cancer. This year has been fucking horrendous, one shit thing after another after another...

I'm trying so hard to look forward to christmas knowing there's 3 people missing from the celebrations and that we're facing the first one without Dad.. mum and i have kind of gone into christmas overkill with planning the decorations and dinner and everything.

the bitching going on is all so 'bah humbug'.

AllThatGlistens · 09/11/2014 09:36

Flowers Skully I'm sorry you've had such a tough year, hope things improve for you soon.

SeeChooJimmy · 09/11/2014 09:37

Ah I see the nasty name calling bitter brigade showed up then.

Some of the name calling is disgusting I wouldn't even dignify that type of language with a reply

actually doth dh and myself spend hours playing with dolls in dds castle with her, watching frozen with elsa dolls singing let it go at the top of our lungs, make up I spend time watching you tube tutorials with dds1&2 and we try out the style on each other, I've I posted some of those pics it would crack you up. I think it's rather unfare to asume that we dont spendtime with them. Board games are already in our house and a new one will be bought as this year thanks to threads im doing my 1st even Christmas eve hamper.

I was hoping this thread would have stayed the way I entended it. As a bit of fun and for ideas for us all.

sometime I wonder why im still on this site it's always the same ones goading, name calling, and putting people down. Mayve I will think of moving to nm.

Sorry to hear of your tuff year Skully. Hope your xmas is magical x

KnittedJimmyChoos · 09/11/2014 09:39

Interesting that skully because I don't spend that £15 a month on toys, books etc, you choose to spread gifts out through the year so does that make you any better.

same here my children would never appreciate anything been given presents on a regular monthly basis. All year I am saying NO.

skully

So you appreciate how some people are feeling but your coming here to comment ...why exactly? Reaching out the hand of compassion to your fellow man?

KnittedJimmyChoos · 09/11/2014 09:44

Ah I see the nasty name calling bitter brigade showed up then.

Yes RJ they did whats odd is that I dont see them on the other xmas threads at all, never seen them on the endless list threads either...

This is whats confusing me, why the very sudden need to come on xmas and be rude and slate people...very mysterious.

I am sorry your thread has been totally sullied and derailed, sadly I knew it would be, maybe if you had waited for Pile Gate to die down....it would have worked.

Thrown the embittered ones off the scent.

Anyway they do swarm like piranhas so hopefully another topic will give them something to get their teeth into...very soon. And they can swarm off.

SkullytonFlowers · 09/11/2014 09:44

funnily enough knitted, i can understand WHY people spend the amount they do and still think its daft, the two aren't mutually exclusive.

ultimately its no-one elses business what we each chose to spend, as long as we're happy, our kids are happy and we have a good christmas.

MimsyBorogroves · 09/11/2014 09:47

As much as I'm loathe to join in, I always get Hmm when people say on these threads "ooh, you've done so well" to those with large piles of presents (either giving or receiving). Does that mean that those of us without the means/desire to reignite woolworths are a little bit shite?

RJnomore · 09/11/2014 09:48

Pile gate sounds painful Biscuit

Grin

Hey, maybe that's what is up with them all!

sweetsomethings · 09/11/2014 09:49

I just don't understand why you would constantly come back to thread that you hate so much. The argument about how much it is offending other parents who cant afford it doesn't make sense. As Ive said before Ive read lots of threads about kids going off to Florida etc. Should i go round all them thread saying how crass it is as i can only afford a weekend in Blackpool Of course not.

SkullytonFlowers · 09/11/2014 09:49

and if we're talking about going overboard.. i bought DH a guitar, which is a limited edition, and being shipped from america.. its cost me £250 with customs charges.

he'd better fucking appreciate it, lol!

KnittedJimmyChoos · 09/11/2014 09:51

i can understand WHY people spend the amount they do and still think its daft, the two aren't mutually exclusive

Thats right but you still feel the need to comment.....but your going mad with food are you? And decorations?

MimsyBorogroves Sun 09-Nov-14 09:47:00

Well I dont think anyone has said that I think a few us put pics in and 14 pages of thread has been mostly attack and defence.

Many people, if you actually read the thread source things from all over and get bargins. Most of us are on tight budgets and spend and buy wisely.

But If I didnt like christmas I just wouldnt come over to the xmas threads.

IgnoreMeEveryOtherFuckerDoes · 09/11/2014 09:52

Where has that been said Mimsy?

you fail to mention the posts where people have suggested about ideas or where they can go to get advice.

RJnomore · 09/11/2014 09:55

Well mumsy, why not post a photo of what you have bought and see what type of comments you get on it?

Then you will know.

I'm confused by you skully you judge, then say its no-one business, then you declare how much you spent on your DH.

KnittedJimmyChoos · 09/11/2014 09:55

personally i think the amount of money people spend at christmas is ridiculous .Sun 09-Nov-14 08:48:45 Skully

and if we're talking about going overboard.. i bought DH a guitar, which is a limited edition, and being shipped from america.. its cost me £250 with customs charges.

Interesting. Confused so another poster who has £££ at her disposal coming to say the four or so pics posted are excessive then admitting to spending loads....ok.

Are you all doing stealth boasting is this what it is?

Your piles are excessive Blush I am only spending £100 on a bike.....

RJnomore · 09/11/2014 09:56

Mimsy. Sorry. Autocorrect.

I'm going to stick the kettle on, anyone want a brew?

SkullytonFlowers · 09/11/2014 09:56

is there any particular reason you're picking on me Knitted? A lot of people have commented much more horrible things than my simple statement that i think the amount some people spend is ridiculous.

I haven't actually judged anyone for it, its just a general comment about christmas spending, an opinion which i'm entitled to share.

Whycantibetangy · 09/11/2014 09:56

Kinell, its crass, its showy, its wanky and just distasteful. Who gives a fuck how many presents you bought or how much you spent?

I too thought this thread was taking the piss...
