Did you not see the thread on there today knitted? followed on from this thread...was removed today.

They do clearly look for fight's, they look for people who they can pick on and push down into the ground to make them self feel better.

My best friend who I adore is in a very different position to me, she doesn't work and spends £30 on her child for Christmas so I buy his main and despite our huge different ways of doing Christmas I would never look at her differently! x

HonoraryOctonaut · 08/11/2014 23:26

It was oven pride Grin First time I had ever cleaned it in 3 years so I was all proud of myself!

KnittedJimmyChoos · 08/11/2014 23:26

madsadbad · 08/11/2014 23:27

Oh the irony. Are you actually incapable of posting without expletives? there is a difference between swearing in a conversation and swearing at someone.

BathshebaDarkstone · 08/11/2014 23:28

I feel like a failure. I haven't bought any yet. Sad

madsadbad · 08/11/2014 23:29

Posted to soon, or directly insulting someone.

lauraR1989 · 08/11/2014 23:29

I hardly ever swear (blessing on netmums!), but today I am swearing because I am astounded at how rude, catty, nit picky and bully like you are.

Hardly any of my posts on this thread have swear words if you bothered to check....

You don't like me for whatever reason and I really do not give a monkey's chuff.....just don't see the need for bullying and name calling!

IgnoreMeEveryOtherFuckerDoes · 08/11/2014 23:30

Sweet thanks I will seek the oven cleaners out tmrw.

RJ I've got excellent steamer but even that looks defeated against the oven.

RJnomore · 08/11/2014 23:30

Many people have not got anything either Bath. If you need tips or ideas plenty of threads showing them.

BigRedBall · 08/11/2014 23:31

Hiyah Huns! Herrs wat I got for my 2 Ickle monkeys, lol.

Dd got her long awaited diamond encrusted iPad coz the trip to school and back is really long, like 15 mins, so she needed one.

Little man got his own ride on Ferrari so he can drive around like his dadda! LOLZ!

And we got this pile of toys to share between them all. I still have pyjamas to buy.

KnittedJimmyChoos · 08/11/2014 23:32

KnittedJimmyChoos · 08/11/2014 23:35

Sweet thanks I will seek the oven cleaners out tmrw. and the rest of us, going to be a boost in oven cleaner sales tomorow Grin

sweetsomethings · 08/11/2014 23:35

BathshebaDarkstone not a failure at all ive lots of friends who wait till its December and all the shops have the music playing etc. I need to do my shopping early as i suffer from Panic attacks and even the thought of shopping in December in the crowds brings on an attack.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 08/11/2014 23:35

I don't think Coconutty was calling YOU cunty and wanky for using x's...she was just saying that to her, the use of them looks that way. Nothing personal to you. Calling her a cunt is personal.

It's a MN thing...no kisses, no , no use of the word "hun." It's just the culture of the site, been that way for years.

Also, fwiw, I thought this was a joke thread, which is why I posted the satsuma and goat. I've been on MN for officially over a year and I've not really seen people post photos of massive amounts of presents for their DCs, whether that is for birthdays, Christmas, or just because.

Nor have I seen holiday photos, or shopping "hauls." I think it's very much a new concept for Mumsnet and people are finding it difficult to adjust to.

I know the NM thread that was started a few days ago was in bad taste and has caused all of this to start so I know you're only coming here to defend yourselves and to carry on this new thing of posting photos, which is fine, different strokes for different folks.

I think the opinion I've formed from reading this thread is that by putting it all out there for internet strangers to see, it somehow takes the intimacy out of sharing the excitement and anticipation with just my family. I am quite happy with the amount I'll be getting for my DCs when I start but want the admiring of the piles of stuff to be shared with just my DH and I when we wrap it together nearer the time. I get stupidly excited about Christmas, and do the hampers and other ridiculously OTT things, but if I put photos of it all on MN it just, I dunno, takes the heart out of it. It does seem showy, as someone earlier said. This is just MY opinion of course, and I will now leave the thread for you all to enjoy in each other's photos.

In the spirit of Christmas, peace, love, and Cake

lauraR1989 · 08/11/2014 23:35

TBH the childishness is making me laugh!

sweetsomethings · 08/11/2014 23:36

Big Red what great present lucky kids you have xxxxxxxxx

madsadbad · 08/11/2014 23:36

BRB
Do you think its funny, clever and actually acceptable to take the piss out of people who are different to what you perceive is the right way?

RJnomore · 08/11/2014 23:37

Saga, I thought the satsuma and the goat was genuinely funny and not being mean or pissy towards any individuals.

BathshebaDarkstone · 08/11/2014 23:39

RJ: No, water and elbow grease for me! Grin

KnittedJimmyChoos · 08/11/2014 23:39

Nor have I seen holiday photos, or shopping "hauls." I think it's very much a new concept for Mumsnet and people are finding it difficult to adjust to.

But you have seen the threads like for instance the poster a well known oldie posting from the maldives? Things like that?

You have being an long timer seen all the list threads on xmas too?

One great thread, what to get the girl who has everything literally including a pony? Loads of suggestions batted away because she had everything, I think the mum said she wanted a harp and would get one for her in a few years.

Did you see that thread? No one was nasty or bitchy on that....

If posters can stomach long lists but have issues with a photo maybe its bst they just either go away from the thread or dont come into the christmas section.

PercyHorse · 08/11/2014 23:39

Just when you thought that you'd grown immune to the excesses of rampant consumerism ...

It makes me feel queasy.
