So the spreadsheets have been completed, the matches have gone out, all is done. Gin

We're all waiting with bated breath. If you're a recipient and you'd like to pop back on here when your gift arrives to thank your donor then do remember to look out for your MN code which will have been included in the address on the packaging and include it in your post. The person who sent the gift will then be able to know it's you.

If anyone has any questions about anything to do with the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal then do please email [email protected].

Ho Ho Ho!

Oh my goodness, goodness me.
I arrived home today to a mahoosive parcel, adddressed to the mumsnetter of the house - Xmas Smile
2012 has been a trying year, with some really difficult obstacles to get over, and some health problems.. which v few people know about in RL, and no-one on MN . So to be nominated is so lovely, and the generosity of the gifts is so much appreciated. thank you to whoever nominated me Xmas Smile

the giftcards will be very well used and I am flabbergasted by the kindness of strangers. i will look forward to choosing some extra special treats for the children .

the little red heart and hanging stars are exquisite and just my taste.

the choccies are a bonus too!!

Once again, I am touched, delighted and overwhelmed and sat shaking at the table looking at everything and being thoroughly amazed and overjoyed.

to my secret santa, thank you a million million times and I wish you and yours a very merry christmas and all the very best for the coming year. your kindness will never never be forgotten. SmileSmile and I will certainly be paying it forward in 2013.

thank you thank you thank you thank you THANK YOU!

I've sat here trying to think how to say THANK YOU to MN146.
Firstly, thank you to whoever nominated me,I'm not sure why I was nominated, I tried to resist but was talked into it by MN. My resistance was futile.
I'm surprised anyone remembered me as I'm not around so much these days.
This week has been difficult with building work on going and dental nightmare of dry socket (ongoing) im hoping it will be better by friday, am being taken away somewhere overnight for my birthday.
its a difficult time of year for our family since DH died, being the sole parent of 3 with autism can be very difficult at times.
I was amazed when the postman brought me a big parcel, I was bog eyed when I opened it to find........
lovely Panettone cake
A yankee Christmas wreath candle ( we will light it in memory of Steve)
Lovely box of Cadburys biscuits ( how did you know that DDs only eat cadburys!)
A fab fair trade mango body set(how did you know mango is my fav?)
Three georgously wrapped parcels for my three, I've not opened them, but from the descriptions you gave I know they will LOVE them all.
And after being speechless I opened the card.i loved the card and the fact that its a Macmillan card makes me very happy. Then I looked inside the card, WOW, an amazon voucher!
I keep coming back to have another look at our gifts.
This really has made my day. You are so very kind and generous. Thank you
From us all.i hope you have an amazing Christmas whoever you are.
Love OJ & Co.

Celebmum (Super Special Santa to MN127)

Toady, I have been crying happy tears! Thank you soooooooo much, you are so very kind and generous, we've already had a HUGE box of goodies from a very generous MNer to share between us and some shopping vouchers from another very kind MNer, and then this morning, your parcel arrived!

We've had a really rotten couple of days, Nemo's not very well, and he's 3 weeks' post op too from an unsuccessful cleft palate repair and his mouth is so sore. He's been crying an awful lot due to PTSD (long story from his emergency heart op) and been terribly clingy of late.

Today was his preschool Christmas party so we went for an hour or so, just to say hello to his friends, Santa was there (must of got an hour off to pop in for a mince pie Xmas Wink) and gave him a present - a fab book called Aliens Love Underpants - so we've spent the afternoon reading that which is why it's taken me so long to post this!!!

I know that he will adore both presents, I can't thank you enough, I really can't. They're sat under the tree waiting for The Big Day! Thank you for putting in the card what they were and who they were for, he was with me when I opened the outer wrapping!

Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks

I hope you and your family have a truly wonderful Christmas and that you realise just what your kindness means to us all xx

WingDefence · 12/12/2012 16:02

MN215

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Firstly to my nominator - I am not entirely sure why I got nominated as I just try to be nice on here(!) but I appreciate it so much. I cried buckets when I got the PM from MNHQ and I can't wait to pass this feeling onto someone else next year Xmas Smile

Next, to my gifter. Your package arrived with great timing. I've been having a horrible two days as it's my birthday tomorrow and DH has the sickness bug yesterday and today so I've had to cancel my posh meal out tonight and my family day trip may not happen. I'm worried about family things (not talked about it on here) and I'm just feeling really down at the moment, even though I'm 23.5 weeks pregnant and have a lovely little MiniWing currently bouncing around inside!

I cannot believe you have donated so much for DS to get something. I know of a rather big Hot Wheels set he has his eye on and I think the voucher will pretty much cover it. I cannot, just cannot believe your generosity.

And you are very talented Xmas Grin That is so completely my style that I actually suspect you are my friend and you have made such things for me before! But not really, it's just spooky

Really, I should stop waffling on. I didn't mean to write this much but I really, honestly thank you both from the bottom of my heart. And, if you don't mind, I'll say a prayer thanking God for both of you - and everyone else involved in this amazing appeal.

And thank God too for Mumsnet! Xmas Grin

WingDefence · 12/12/2012 16:07

Oh PurpleCrazyHorse I hadn't seen your post before I wrote the above. Should have searched for the code first!

Thank you (again)! I'm sorry I peeked but I knew it would cheer me up after cancelling my birthday meal. Xmas Blush

Thank you Thanks, thank you Thanks, thank you Thanks

John Lewis voucher SS to MNer127

This morning I got yet another wonderful surprise!! (I had no idea that you could get more than one gift and feel incredibly humbled by the all of these generous gifts and a bit Xmas Blush)

I opened a card and inside was a voucher for John Lewis/Waitrose and a message saying - "Hope this helps with Christmas for Nemo and your lovely DD. With fond wishes from another MNer x"

Well, another MNer, Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks Thanks so very much! As you can see in my post to Celebmum up thread, Nemo has had a rough couple of weeks and to be honest, the shine had been taken off Christmas for us because of his op and post op complications.

Not only that, the operation wasn't a success as we'd initially been told so we now have to wait until mid-end of January to find out what they are going to do.......

This campaign has changed all of that. I knew I'd been nominated but had no idea that we would get so many wonderful things! It's really heart warming and actually, a little overwhelming (in a nice way!) to know that there are people out there who care about others and want to do something to help, make someone smile, ease the load a little for someone who is having a tough time maybe, whatever it is that you send Secret Santas is amazing because it's the thought that counts in my book. Xmas Smile

You are all fantastic, thank you so very much from MNer127 xx xx xx Thanks xx

MN022 · 12/12/2012 16:26

To SecretSantaMN022 (number2)

You are a angel! :)

I am actually stunned and in tears as I type!

Just had a packet through my letterbox for a Amazon voucher!

Things are tight this year and me being me, have left everything until the last minute hoping that it will sort itself out Hmm. We are by no means in the gutter but your gift has made everything that little bit easier. I think you have in fact finished christmas for us! :)

I am amazed by your generosity! I cannot thank you enough!!
You have made my, and my small families christmas!

I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy new year!
Love MN022

everybodysang · 12/12/2012 16:35

not weeping my eyes at all, oh no

everybodysang · 12/12/2012 16:37

Mouseface · 12/12/2012 16:38

We need a 'like' button on this thread for all of the wonderful messages and stories..... it's truly amazing Xmas Smile

BaublesAndCuntingCarolSingers · 12/12/2012 16:47

Mouseface, I don't mean to single you out as all of the MNers on this thread are truly deserving of some christmas love but I am so glad that you have had christmas made a bit easier by some lovely MNers. I know you've been having a shit time of late and that little Nemo has been under the weather. You are such a lovely woman even with all of the crap that life's hurled at you. I am truly, truly in awe of you. Thanks

Scottishsecretsanta102 · 12/12/2012 17:05

secretsanta102 ooh ooh ooh I have sent something to mn102 yesterday too!!! So glad she is getting more as I couldn't afford amazing stuff like some others on this thread, but all is sent with love and best Christmas wishes.

Love this thread.

Mouseface · 12/12/2012 17:12

Baubles - Xmas Blush I have no words, I really don't. Wow, just simply wow. xxxxx

TeaAndTinselMakeChristmasShine · 12/12/2012 17:14

min. I had in my head that I was going to name change to respond but because of your post, and my experience, I've left me as me.

It is absolutely my pleasure. MN is brilliant. It makes me laugh and cry, it's life affirming and enhancing all at once.

Funny you mentioned the planes I spent 15 mins in a shop with my 2 oldest DS (12 & 11) debating arguing their merits for teenage boys. I've been worrying about them since sending them!

I'm so sorry to hear that 2012 has been so difficult for you. I can't begin to imagine how hard it's been. I had a tumour removed and treated when I was 13 and you talking of your son's birthday reminds me how little I remember about it and how it is such a small part of my life now. On reflection, my overwhelming feeling is how important my Mum was to me that year. She was my world and was there supporting and pushing me every inch of the way. Oh. There was a lot of cleaning me too from memory Blush. It must have been awful for my parents and it's still a big part of their life story.

Anyways, we will all raise a glass of sparkly stuff for your boys on Christmas day. And particularly for you because Mums are PDB (pure, dead brilliant). May you get a peaceful moment and may 2013 bring joy and happiness to you all.

santaclaw5 · 12/12/2012 18:07

MN039 just thought i would let you know that ds has seen your presents under our Christmas tree and was crying 'tears of happy' he said (and he hasnt even opened them yet!! he is saving them for Christmas day)

He has SN's and has been at rock bottom recently, he was recently in A&E after self harming and wanting to die and has been an emotional wreck.

To see tears of joy from him made a lovely change. Im trying not to get too sentimental and gushy, but i wanted you to know that your kindness and generosity has given a very depressed little boy some joy and 'tears of happy' Smile

ConfusedPixie · 12/12/2012 18:25

This is such a lovely thread :) I went to post my parecl today but the bloody post office shut at 1pm, I went at 2 :( hoping to send it first thing if I get a chance to on the way to work, otherwise it'll have to be sent on Saturday morning because the postie opens at weird times Hmm

KenDoddsDadsDog · 12/12/2012 18:31

RichTeaAreCrap Glad you got your gift and hope you get a lovely treat for yourself. Have a wonderful Christmas and hope 2013 is good for you. Xmas Grin

SecretSanta146 · 12/12/2012 18:39

I'm so glad the parcel arrived so quickly Xmas Smile

I must admit I don't think our paths have crossed on here, but I am so pleased you like your parcel!

I wasn't sure what to get your DC's (hence my in-depth descriptions!) so I'm glad the presents are suitable

That is a lovely thought, regarding the candle (made me well up), Cadbury's chocolate biscuits are just super yummy and the mango body stuff is my favourite too!

This is the first year I've been involved in SS as I was new to MN last year, but it definitely won't be my last. I really enjoyed putting your parcel together and wish you and yours a very happy Christmas x

santaclaw5sLittleElf · 12/12/2012 18:43

santaclaw5 Oh my lovely, bless his heart, yours too. Big hugs from me.

I am so sorry you and your son have been having such a tough time lately, what a lot you have both been through, so I am ever so moved to hear of his tears of happy. Tears of happy here too.

Phew that your box arrived safely, I really hope you both like the things, I had enormous pleasure choosing for you.

Wine I raise my glass to you - may you both have a happy and peaceful Christmas and much better times ahead in 2013.

With lots of love

Xmas Smile
ticolac · 12/12/2012 18:50

Posted a small parcel to MN096 yesterday afternoon. Hope it arrives ok.

3girlies · 12/12/2012 18:54

MN002 Thanks so very very very much!!
The lovely Next parcel of wine, choccies and miniature rose was so stunning, I have never had anything like this ever!
Also thanks to whoever nominated me - We lost our lovely youngest daughter in July after a battle with a brain tumour, someone noticed our story and nominated me, such a lovely thought. This is such a difficult time for us, so lovely to think we were in your thoughts.

Thanks again!!

santaclaw5 · 12/12/2012 19:00

Santaclaw5slittleelf, you are more a little angel, than a little elf! Smile

So glad you have seen my messages to you. Your card was lovely too, made me smile, and the voucher very generous, i will buy ds something extra with it. Presents are beautifully wrapped, it will be a shame to open them!

We are not 'allowed' to open them until Christmas day, ds is a stickler for the 'rules'! Im sure they will be wonderful and greatly appreciated.

Im sure things will improve for us and I hope you have a very, very happy Christmas too xx

dementedma · 12/12/2012 19:49
