So the spreadsheets have been completed, the matches have gone out, all is done. Gin

We're all waiting with bated breath. If you're a recipient and you'd like to pop back on here when your gift arrives to thank your donor then do remember to look out for your MN code which will have been included in the address on the packaging and include it in your post. The person who sent the gift will then be able to know it's you.

If anyone has any questions about anything to do with the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal then do please email [email protected].

Ho Ho Ho!

They may not be aware of this thread, Imdreaming . I know I had to actively look for it as I don't generally browse the 'Christmas' thread. I also know I forgot about it completely for a week or so when both I and DD were poorly...

Perhaps MNHQ could either email all nominees, or put stickies in certain places to try to point recipients in this direction...?

I know exactly what you mean. I've posted mine today, but really wish I'd hand delivered it instead as then I would be sure that it'd arrived. Now I'll be worrying for ages...

MOSagain · 11/12/2012 16:10

Am going to post my parcel tomorrow. Had been hanging on because only 1 of the 2 special order items I've ordered has arrived but will get the main parcel sent off and hopefully the small one will follow in the near future.

PisteysNom · 11/12/2012 16:15

Pistey

'twas I that nominated you and I would probably think a whole load of others did too.

You are truly fabulous.

With love x

RebeccaTheHallsMumsnet · 11/12/2012 16:48

@Thing3WasKissingSanta

I have just tried sending the present but the lady in the post office said the address I have is wrong! Can somebody at MNHQ please email with the correct one?

No problem Thing3WasKissingSanta, apologies for the mix-up.
Can you email us on contactus@ mumsnet.com please and we will get back to you in the morning.

maillotjaune · 11/12/2012 16:52

MN130 - I posted your vouchers the Friday before last. Hope they have arrived. I don't need a message on here but if you happened to see this and they haven't arrived perhaps you could pm me as I don't want you to end up with nothing after finding out you were nominated.

EllenJaneisstillnotmyname · 11/12/2012 17:00

KenDoddsDadsDog but, but, but...? I'm recipient 060, and I only know that because I've already had some vouchers! You lovely, lovely people. Thanks Xmas Blush

Galena · 11/12/2012 17:00

maillot , that's alovely message, but recipients don't know their number until they receive their gift... If you are worried, perhaps contact MNHQ and ask them?

Mouseface · 11/12/2012 17:01

HERE HERE, I totally agree with that post about Pistey Xmas Smile

There are so many wonderful MNers on here....... some of the stories from those who have received gifts and posted thanks are truly heartbreaking but also utterly heart warming.

To know that people out there care enough to do something that will send a smile in a box or envelope just makes me feel so lucky to have all that we do.

Cupofteaplease {({({(HUGS)})})} just because, I'm not your SS but read your post. xx

This thread is so lovely, my contact lenses are swimming around my eyes every time I read it. All of those who have given so selflessly are amazing. Xmas Smile

McKayz · 11/12/2012 17:06

I would have nominated Pistey if I had really understood the appeal. She's a diamond.

Hi Thing3WasKissingSanta,
Just mailed you.....

MN157 · 11/12/2012 17:31

Dear Piste
But you have thanked me, because I?ve found you on this thread! I?m glad the box arrived safely.

I was delighted to read your post and find out it was you I was sending to. I know you are involved with coordinating the blankets, and that?s a very special thing to do. It must take quite a bit of time and energy, too.

These presents are obviously just a token from an awful lot of Mumsnetters who would have wanted you to be nominated, going by the comments on the thread after your post.

Reading through this thread, with all the thoughtfulness and clever ideas that people have had, I didn?t think I had managed very well, so I?m pleased you liked the presents. I know the voucher isn?t very exciting, but I thought it would give you choice. And hopefully your dc can always use the refund option.

Oh dear, I am beginning to sound a bit like Eeyore, so will stop now. But - a very Happy Christmas and New Year to you and your family, from a lot of Mumsnetters!

GlaikitFizzogTheChristmasElf · 11/12/2012 17:38

waitingforastartofall I'm your SS, MN209, I was going to post under a namechange on here but i wanted you to know I was lurking on your thread the other day about you mum, but didn't post as I didn't know what to say. I am so very very sorry for your loss, especially at this time of year. Your mum was so young.

I didn't know who I was buying for, but I am glad it was you and it has brought you a little bit of sunshine at such a sad time.

Like I said charades at Christmas is a bit of a family tradition here, no one ever wants to play, but once we get going on more than one occasion tena lady have been needed. My poor old grandma, who isn't with us anymore, had to act out The book, the joy of sex once. She did things no grandma should ever have to do! The cars were vetted after that and anything inappropriate were removed!

Sorry for not posting sooner, but I've been at work all day. Hope dc is better soon.

I hope you have a nice Christmas and I shall raise a glass of something to your mum.

I have to go, my hayfever seems to be playing up Xmas Smile

Milliways · 11/12/2012 17:45

Yay, mine arrived!

MN005 you are very welcome, hope you have fun choosing something, and it gets to you in time for Christmas Xmas Smile

maillotjaune · 11/12/2012 17:46

Oh Galena thank you I hadn't realised. Will do that.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 11/12/2012 18:05

MN029. All packaged up and ready to post tomorrow.

maxmissie · 11/12/2012 18:17

I'm getting worried about my parcels too; sent something online which it says has been left at the address last Wednesday and posted something myself 2nd class last Thursday so would have thought it had arrived by now.

I know not everyone is online all the time though or might be away or not have the time or not know about this thread but am still panicking that they've both gone astray.

SenderMN116 · 11/12/2012 18:52

Just to say I've posted my parcel today so hopefully you'll get it before the end of the week.

MN046 · 11/12/2012 19:34

cupofteaplease I am so pleased that the gift has arrived safely. I felt very privileged when I realised who I had been matched with, and wanted to do my best to bring you some seasonal cheer. Your posts about Beatrice (and the rest of the Teaset) have touched many people, me included, and she remains in my thoughts and in my heart. xx

Waitingforastartofall · 11/12/2012 20:02

fizzogthechristmaself MN209 - Thank you for your kind words, i told ds about our present ready to go under the tree from a special lady who calls herself christmas elf, he is now fascinated thinks you are a bonafide christmas elf and has said thank you a million times, and to say hi to santa for him ;)

Will look forward to a new tradition, we once took dps nan to an ann summers party which was enlightening and so wrong so i can only imagine the horrors!

You are a wonderful lady who has made such a difference to me today and throughout the festive period im so glad you didnt name change. Wishing you a very merry christmas

celebmum · 11/12/2012 20:07

Ho ho ho!!

xxx

FiveFestiveFlowers · 11/12/2012 20:08

I sent mine on 1st December (first class) - really worried now as I'd hate to think someone is still waiting for a gift that hasn't arrived Sad.

GlaikitFizzogTheChristmasElf · 11/12/2012 20:16

Well I do have funny ears and hobbity feet! Bless him! :o

LadyMaryChristmas · 11/12/2012 20:34

It may help if there was an indication of where parcels were heading; ie, Derbyshire, Suffolk etc. Then if someone's sent something to Suffolk then it would narrow down the list of recipients but keep anonymity (I hate this bloody word!) and would put kind donors minds at ease, IYKWIM? Confused
