So the spreadsheets have been completed, the matches have gone out, all is done. Gin

We're all waiting with bated breath. If you're a recipient and you'd like to pop back on here when your gift arrives to thank your donor then do remember to look out for your MN code which will have been included in the address on the packaging and include it in your post. The person who sent the gift will then be able to know it's you.

If anyone has any questions about anything to do with the Mumsnet Christmas Appeal then do please email [email protected].

Ho Ho Ho!

TSC - that's really funny Xmas Grin
I don't remember you being banned though....

Lonecatwithkitten · 10/12/2012 13:33

MN112 Thank you so much for the lovely voucher. I get to buy new underwear, my most favourite treat.
This last year has been a pretty horrid one so being able to treat myself is very special. Thank you again.

NorksAreTinselly · 10/12/2012 13:55

Hello Secret Santa for MN141

You are a lovely lovely person who clearly knows my weakness :)
My weakness is posh chocolate and you have made me very happy and a bit tubbier.

I laughed my little thermal socksies off at the YANBU tag. That's going on the tree to befuzzle friends and relatives and to help identify fellow Mumsnetters.
Thank you thank you thank you Thanks Xmas Grin

I would also like to thank the kind and thoughtful person who nominated me. As many others have said, I was very nearly ungracious and very nearly said 'dont worry about me, I dont think I deserve this'. But I am so very glad I didn't . Still have no idea why I was nominated though. Perhaps the Norks have fans :)
This has made me feel all warm and glowy and chocolate filled Thanks Xmas Grin

Finally, thank you to MNHQ elves for organising this logistical minefield Thanks Xmas Grin

I love Mumsnet

What can I say, I was shocked to be nominated, as I constantly name change, and I am overwhelmed at how generous you have been, I was expecting maybe a box of chocolates or a sticker book or 2.

I am sat here in my beautiful necklace and have wrestled the hat, gloves and booties away from DD because she wants them for her baby, they will be perfect when the new baby arrives, Ill put a picture on my profile and let you know.

The gift voucher, well literally this morning I arranged to send back the kindle I bought, as I cannot justify spending money on myself, so when I rang DH to tell him I was going to get outfits for DCs, he said I have to spend it on me - as soon as the new baby comes it will be going on something nice to wear as a treat for myself. Be so nice to have something that doesn't come from eBay.

More than the presents though, is the Christmas Spirit behind it.

I can honestly say this has been the worst year of my life, the new baby has been completely overshadowed by ongoing events, half the time I feel like I am living in someone elses nightmare, the other half, I try to remember how blessed I am to have 3 beautiful children, another on the way and my much loved DH.

I truly hope that I have brought some comfort to someone, somewhere and that is why I was nominated - because the things we have been through, they have to have some meaning!

Thank you so much, I cannot tell you how much the kindness of strangers means to me :) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

santato182 · 10/12/2012 16:37

To MN182, I have a parcel for you waiting to be posted, i'm afraid it's not overly generous and not quite what i had planned but not 1 but both cars went wrong last week, bloody awful timing! Anyway the thought and warm wishes behind it are still there xxx

Milliways · 10/12/2012 16:49

Another one lurking here to see if the vouchers have arrived.

Love reading all these messges though :)

bec5670 · 10/12/2012 17:17

McKayz · 10/12/2012 17:41

I have been nominated and am really looking forward to being able to say thank you.

toomuchturkeyatendofthedinner · 10/12/2012 17:45

Marking my place whilst the "threads I'm on" nonsense is sorted out. Will be sending my parcel tomorrow hopefully. Just love reading this thread.

VerityClinch · 10/12/2012 18:17

MN038 I will be posting your parcel on Wednesday! So sorry for the delay, DD has had the projectile vomiting bug and my house looks like widow twanky's laundry.i only just got back on top of the ironing today...

I washed my hands really well and antibac'd them before I wrapped your parcel, promise!

MilesAwayGirl · 10/12/2012 18:24

MN 063, I posted a parcel last Saturday and I would hate to think it may have been lost! Hope it's just the Post Office being slow!

BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas · 10/12/2012 18:31

Well Ho Ho Ho and a massive thank you to the lovely Elf MN015.

I recognised your postcode Xmas Grin

Two lovely, beautifully wrapped gifts and I have resisted the temptation to open them, although your card has given me a pretty good idea of their even beautifuller contents. I look forward very much to opening them on Christmas Day.

(And I feel sure that you must know who I am - or else you have spooky powers).

Thank you so much.

xxx

KvetnutsRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 10/12/2012 18:49

oh yay, my gifts arrived - worried they'd be a bit crap compared to some on here, but they have arrived safely with recipients anyway!

mnsecretsanta091 · 10/12/2012 20:06

TheSecondComing I am so delighted your parcel has arrived and the gifts are ok. I so enjoyed thinking of what to get and parcelling it all up.

I also bought a copy of the Father Christmas DVD for us too at the same time and I am going to watch it with my little DD who is two a couple of days before Christmas - I will think of you when I do!

Merry Christmas.

BIWIsElf · 10/12/2012 20:25

Hello, BIWI Xmas Grin

So pleased it arrived safely.

You'll have to at least open the smaller present or it will be a festering, stinky mess by Christmas Day...unless you fancy that Xmas Grin

And obviously, being an elf, I do indeed have spoooooky and most magical powers.

Xmas Wink

NorksAreTinselly · 10/12/2012 21:04

D0G you are a soppy date and have made me snivel Xmas Grin

RabbitsMakeGOLDBaubles · 10/12/2012 21:08

Just to let my secret Santas know, I will probably open the gifts just before the kids go away, it's my DSs birthday on the 19th, so I think I will let them do it then as I won't see them again for over a week and I can't leave them to wait that long.

Treats · 10/12/2012 21:10

TisILeclerc - I sent the Next voucher and biscuits (hope that some of them are still in one piece - I wasn't able to wrap it as well as I would have liked). I'm very pleased that they reached you safely and are appreciated. I hope you and your family have a very happy Christmas and that 2013 brings better things for you all.

SecretSantaMN016 · 10/12/2012 22:44

BlameItOnTheChoirOfAngels MN016, You are very welcome.

I felt a bit guilty sending vouchers when others have sent such thoughtful gifts but I don't have any current knowledge of small boys or of what you might both enjoy so hope that is ok. Didn't want you to think it was a cop-out!

Hope you have a lovely Christmas.
