The Book People - always good, never ever had any problemswith them

Play.com - as above, plus free delivery

Amazon - seem to have placed hundereds of orders with them and they've always arrived speedily with free delivery too.

Agree with the book people - speedy and no problems.

I remember when I first did internet christmas shopping when pregnant with dd1 so 7 years ago, I had problems with Boots, Marks and Spencer and Next deliveries - they all seem to have sorted themselves out much more efficiently now.

PrettyPirate · 02/12/2011 12:36

Avoid Debenhams, I'll never order anything from them anymore!!

Amazon.co.uk - always quick, have ordered loads and never had any problems.

M&S - also quick.

huggiemonster · 02/12/2011 12:44

I agree - DO NOT SHOP WITH DEBENHAMS AT THE MOMENT - IF EVER!

Celtic Sheepskin, M&S, House of Fraser are all good.

AFuckingFestiveKnackeredWoman · 02/12/2011 12:45

Woolgar's Toys- ordered loads of bargain stocking toys from there and they came next day.

play.com - always good delivery and free too!

Ernest Jones - excellent customer service when i ordered a charm for my mum, but messed up, completely my fault but they fixed it very quickly.

Amazon- they buggered up a few of my deliveries last year but all has gone well this year

Aviod: H+M - charged me nearly double by accident and refused to refund me, had to get the bank to step in, rudest staff i have ever encountered

KenDoddsDadsDog · 02/12/2011 12:46

M&S, Paperchase and Habitat.

MrsJohnDeere · 02/12/2011 12:48

Funky Childrens Furniture - fab products, speedy delivery, and excellent customer service (a lovely lady phoned to check all was well with my deliveries).

So far so good with Amazon

Book People painfully slow as always but they are very cheap

WhatWouldLeoDo · 02/12/2011 12:53

Amazon are always good I find. I've bought a few things from Whittards this year online which have been delivered quickly.

I'm a bit cross with Play.com as I ordered a copy of the Jolly Christmas Postman when it was still about £9 and in stock Hmm. 6 weeks later I'm still waiting and it's now about £30-odd Hmm.

I've seen some nice stocking fillers etc on Tickseed, but as I've already bought far too much I've resisted so far!

storminabuttercup · 02/12/2011 14:32

Tickseed was very good and quick for me

Amazon as always

Cheapscents was quick

And thescentedcandleshop

JarethTheGoblinKing · 02/12/2011 14:35

John Lewis

piprobincomesbobbobbobbinalong · 02/12/2011 14:40

Bodykind.com have been excellent.
Fragrancedirect is good too.

PomBearAtTheGatesOfDoom · 02/12/2011 14:45

The Tickseed bloke phoned me up at 9pm at night to check something and I can't decide if it was a good thing or not Confused Something was out of stock and he was checking if it was actually a Christmas order or if it was for a party so time was of the essence so to speak. I was a bit Hmm - it could have waited til a reasonable hour, but otoh he might have thought I'd be out all day... just one of those things that made me go Hmm but I'm weird
Woolgar's were good.
The Glow Company were good - I bought "mystic lanterns" as stocking fillers and they're lovely and batteries included which is always nice and I reckon it would have cost me more for batteries than I paid for the whole thing
The Soap Bops girl is lovely, she is a "one man band" and makes everything herself and it arrives beautifully packed, and she is ever so helpful with special items and gift ideas and things Grin

champagnesupernova · 02/12/2011 14:51

Links people, we need LINKS!
I haven't done ANYTHING yet

crikeybadger · 02/12/2011 14:52

Have just ordered some blankets from Barefoot Kitchen.

Never used them before and only found the site by chance, but the blankets arrived well packaged, really quickly and are absolutely fab.

SenoritaViva · 02/12/2011 14:52

Okka really screwed my mum around so I would not recommend them. It was their fault (they sent the wrong sized mattress with bed) which they claimed was 'impossible' and refused to believe her for days. It caused a great deal of time and stress. I wouldn't recommend them.

Good:
Amazon
John Lewis
Noonthehighstreet.com

prezzie21 · 02/12/2011 15:27

firebox.com for teenagers is fab

JarethTheGoblinKing · 02/12/2011 15:30

PomBear - I've had that with Tickseed as well, phone calls at all hours. Their site brings up a security cert issue at work as well, so not 100% convinced about them. I'm sure their delivery is fine and everything but I don't think it's a very secure site.

BlueChampagne · 02/12/2011 15:48

Hobbycraft - v quick delivery www.hobbycraft.co.uk/

Tinselitis · 02/12/2011 15:52

Next are great. Usaully 24-28 hour delivery. Good for Christmas decs.

Tinselitis · 02/12/2011 15:52

24-48

bessie26 · 02/12/2011 16:03

amazon (this discount thingy might be worth a go?) & truprint (everyone's getting calendars this year!)

AnyoneforTurps · 02/12/2011 16:04

Avoid Zara unless you are sure you'll be keeping the order. The delivery process is fine but returns are an absolute nightmare.

Karen Millen are excellent, not that I can fit into most of their stuff Sad

SugarAndSpiceMistletoeAndWine · 02/12/2011 16:37

Cox and Cox
Amazon
The Book People
John Lewis
Next, esp in store delivery

Watch out for things delivered by Yodel - they randomly delivered my parcel to my neighbour without telling me by leaving a card and on their tracker it has the person's last name (which I didn't know) not their house number. Also they left me parcels in a 'safe place' which I had to hunt for - my bin and right on my door step! Xmas Angry

Ohforfoxsake · 02/12/2011 16:45

Has no one mentioned dotcomgiftshop?? fab. Santa gets lots of his stuff from there.

ToDoodles · 02/12/2011 16:52

ELC are doing some fab offers 20-50% off with delivery offers. Using www.quidco.com to collect cask back too Grin

mammanetta · 02/12/2011 16:58

:) AnyoneforTurps tell me about it - used to be one of my faves, but no longer have figure for it though still keep a size 10 shirt of theirs in wardrobe in case I ever return to being that size

Anyhoo...I digress! Shopping online? I am Miss Google It :) In fact, wouldn't be seen dead on High Streets at Xmas - too blimming stressful.

My faves are:

John Lewis (you can't really go wrong with an institution like this and it's free delivery on all orders over £30).
Jojo Maman Bebe' (all deliveries for any amount are free and pretty quick too).
Buy the Sea www.buythesea.co.uk (quirky coastal themed stuff for house etc) great delivery (not free) but quick and cool gift ideas.
Girl's Own Store www.girlsownstore.co.uk good for vintage and shabby chic gifts.
Amazon UK (can't go wrong and frequently cheapest for books).
EBay.
Science Museum www.sciencemuseumshop.co.uk got some very cool gadgety gifts for kids and adults this year. Delivery £4.95 no matter how much you get and was fast.
Online cycling store www.wiggle.co.uk I've used several times and are fab.
Recently also tried www.likeabike.co.uk directly for my DD balance bike (flawless courier delivery with times slot down to an hour) as well as www.dotbike.co.uk for cycling accessories.
For more home stuff/shabby chic/vintage also try www.livelaughlove.co.uk some great gifts.

Have fun :)
