Can i list
M&M Direct. ordered on Wednesday evening, items here today. Also they do free postage if you order over £50

The Book People - always good, never ever had any problemswith them

Play.com - as above, plus free delivery

Photobox &
Book depository both very good.

Have had problems with the Shewee website but they say they know about the problems and to be honest their customer service has been very good.

I think most UK based websites are very good and you only realise it when you live overseas. Australia has an awful lot to catch up with and internet shopping here is a bad joke.

Masserrato · 03/12/2011 01:21

DisguiseDebs - that looks lovely and mostly UK crafts.

FellatioNelson · 03/12/2011 05:49

John Lewis and Amazon have always been excellent for me - fabulous customer service when I'v had any kind of a problem to sort out too.

carries · 03/12/2011 06:16

Lakeland are great. Their customers services are the best out there. I've phoned wanting to return a damaged item. Been told to bin/keep item & they've sent out a replacement. Last year they were out of stock on one item I'd ordered so they sent me £20 voucher to spend in January. Always speedy with delivery too.

Masserrato · 03/12/2011 06:56

Oh yes, how could I forget Lakeland. Love, love, love Lakeland. Their customer service is the best.

Hollyfoot · 03/12/2011 08:29

Dibor have been very good for me. Amazon are fantastic as everyone says, also for anyone who needs ear plugs (thanks Mr Folly Holly), snorestore are brilliant.

thesoulfoman · 03/12/2011 09:39

Given all the negative comments I feel I must say that the chap who delivers for Yodel round here is excellent. He leaves parcels if at all possible and is always happy and friendly (unlike the miserable sod from the post office). He has been delivering here for years and perhaps I'm just lucky, I think the service you get does depend a lot on the actual driver.

slartybartfast · 03/12/2011 09:45

i usually use play.com but found amazon the cheapest in my shopping today, and free delivery if you have time, which on 3rd december, i think i do Grin

moondog · 03/12/2011 09:47

Dibor once cheated me out of about £100.
They were going under(I didn't know it) and my stuff hadn't arrived and I was ringing them every day and being assured it was 'on its way'. It wasn't and I never got my money back. Company went into liquidation then a few months later, set up again as... Dibor.

Fantastic online cheese parcel supplier

interregnum · 03/12/2011 11:05

A few years ago I bought a Clogau Gold silver photo frame for my sons' wedding photo, of course no forward planning was involved so now my
daughter has just got married I can't find another one. If anyone comes
across one, I would be very grateful if you could PM me.

cocoachanneloffestivecheer · 03/12/2011 11:15

Back to recommend Ocado. 3 for 2 on gifts at the moment, and on Early LEarning Centre toys amongst others. I'm really pleased with the Baylis & Harding products I bought for the team at DD's nursery.

I'd also recommend thecleverbaggers.co.uk. I've been buying bags from them instead of using paper gift bags. Also using them as dust bags for handbags etc.

AChristmouseTail · 03/12/2011 13:11

Boden.

M&S.

Next..

Play.com.

Amazon - although returns can be tricky as some suppliers want you to go through Amazon, some want direct contact.

Joe Browns.

Superdrug.

Early Learning Centre.

Can you tell I mainly shop on-line? Xmas Grin

H&M are dreadful, truly dreadful. Customer Service seems to have passed them by, it takes days if not weeks for you items to arrive. I think that they may ship from overseas which accounts for the delay but still, if you want it fast, go into a store.

My last order from them took 4 weeks to deliver, that was in October so I dread to think what it would be like now! AVOID!

miSaltireandwine · 03/12/2011 13:31

Blimey, this took off didn't it Grin. Off to google a few of those companies listed - although have no money to spend on any Sad

mouldyironingboard · 03/12/2011 13:41

amazon
firebox
boots
superdrug
ocado
thorntons
george (asda)
m&s
bon marche
new look

argos are improving but not as good as they should be yet.

AChristmouseTail · 03/12/2011 13:54

Oh yes, I forgot about Boots, there packing is brilliant too, less chance of damaged goods, and it's the same with Superdrug.

crikeybadger · 03/12/2011 14:29

I'm now scrapping M&S off my favourites list. They've just e mailed me to say that they now haven't got a top I ordered for my nephew about a week ago. Not impressed with their computer system.

bobs · 03/12/2011 15:19

Have used amazon for years - excellent. Only one package ever went missing and they sent a replacement no questions. Then the first turned up and being the good citizen I am I returned it!
However I bought 5 different xbox games last week from 4 different companies and managed to save £20 than if I'd bought just from Amazon - bought just one from them. They all arrived within the week. I just did a general google search and came up with cheaper prices on the others.
Also, I use ideal.co.uk to search for the cheapest - just go on the hem page and do a general search for your item. They give prices including any discounts going Saved a fortune on a digital camera.
Also, I go via nectar to get extra points and pay on cash back credit card

gardeningsarah · 03/12/2011 16:16

Thank to the people who recommended play.com, I've just managed to order a present for one of the children, after being let down by debenhams, who said, said item was in stock when I ordered on Tuesday, finally got an email on Friday to say, the couldn't fufill the order.

KinkyDoritoWithFairyLightsOn · 03/12/2011 16:29

www.toysdirect.com

I got something from them and it turned up within two days. I also got regular e-mails from them to let me know what was happening. I was very impressed. Some competitive pricing too, especially on playmobil (what I'm looking at for DS at the moment).

I also love Amazon, even though it steals all of my money Xmas Grin.

hardcolin · 03/12/2011 16:56

Amazon, M&S, John Lewis, Next - all good/exceptional service if ever I've had a concern.

Lovely items and fast delivery at www.frillylily.co.uk (pink gifts for dd and friends)

Both H&M and Debenhams online ordering/returns - avoid, although I've had no problems with either of them in store.

Was Hmm about returning a duplicate purchase christmas cake to M&S Simply Food this week..only to be told yes they will gladly refund me - and then gave me the cake back as well.

donnie · 03/12/2011 17:48
