Acsec, DP says they aren't rosehips but chokeberries and I can't find a decent recipe for them anywhere. I tried rosehip syrup aaaaages ago and thought it was beautiful - it's the sort of thing I would make if I wasn't so lazy! If you give it a go let us know how it went!

FlubbaBubba · 06/10/2011 08:14

Oh. It's not my morning! Basically it's a blank page with the word ribbons at the top (as if they don't sell them, but do categorise them). Confused Hmm

deemented · 06/10/2011 10:09

Yes, that's what i'm getting.

If you have a store nearby, it's worth going to have a looksee. They also do massive packs of different coloured felt - 40 sheets for £4.99, which i thought a bargain.

FlubbaBubba · 06/10/2011 10:13

:( nearest is over 25 miles away

deemented · 06/10/2011 10:20

Ah, that's a shame. Mine's two mins down the road.

FlubbaBubba · 06/10/2011 10:24

Looking at the website, it's probably a good thing for mt bank account that I don't have one nearby! :o

FlubbaBubba · 06/10/2011 10:27

MY bank acc, (not Mount Bank Acc!) :)

If you ever want me to pick yu up anything though, and send it on....

EauRouge · 06/10/2011 10:31

I found a bag of ribbon scraps really cheap on ebay here but you don't know what you'll get.

FlubbaBubba · 06/10/2011 10:47

Thanks dee :)

That looks like a bargain eau - even if you get two or three decent ribbons that would be worth it compared to many proper shops! I could spend a LOT of money with them what with fabric scraps and interfacing and the like. (I'd never heard of 'interfacing' until this thread, now I feel I can't live without it! :o)

RoyalWelsh · 06/10/2011 11:02

Right, I have all of today free and I am goign to start at the top of the thread and work my way down...

FlubbaBubba · 06/10/2011 11:27

Aaaarghhhh! I've gone and signed myself up for a (small) craft table at a local craft fair in six weeks' time!!! Shock

Will also be doing face painting Shock

Oh God, I'm not going to be able to sleep between now and then for fear of people possibly shelling out money for my wares/face painting non-skills!! [stupidly nervous emoticon] :)

If anyone wants lovely material for small projects may I heartily recommend this company on e-bay?

I have bought two of their fabric bundles, only small pieces but beautiful fabrics.

Blush Keep looking - they have new stuff every week.

shesparkles · 06/10/2011 16:26

I've been inspired by some of the makes on this thread and actually got off my backside and made something today!
I now have 6 jars of picalilli cooling which should be ready for Christmas...I'm not a great fan of it, but my sister loves it so will hopefully appreciate some :)

Does anyone know if I can add food colouring to candle wax? I'm going to melt down candles I already have and put them in teacups but I wanted to colour them. I also wanted to put scents in them but don't want to buy any... Will lemon juice or something similar split it or make it go horribly wrong?

Zeeky · 06/10/2011 20:47

Found these glass jars on ebay and was wondering if they would be suitable for some lemon sugar scrub, flavoured salts, fudge, bath cubes etc that I'm planning to make as gifts?

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20-Glass-jam-sweet-jars-lids-and-tamper-seals-/320696045669?pt=UK_HomeGarden_Kitchen_FoodStorage_GL&hash=item4aaaf95065

Works out at 85p per jar including the postage which I thought sounded quite reasonable?

DawnOfTheDeementedDead · 06/10/2011 20:53

They are really nice.

I'm currently keeping all the jars i get - from pasta sauces, beetroot, paste etc.

theancientmarinator · 06/10/2011 21:10

Thunder I wish I was on your present list!

FlubbaBubba · 06/10/2011 21:58

How much do you reckon I can charge for the following things at a craft fair?

felt hearts (padded and with big chunky woolly stitching)
felt Christmas trees (padded and with decorations),
felt (and very sweet) little snowmen
'winter warmers' (lavendar/wheat warmer that you pop in the microwave)

CauldronsTrulyReign · 06/10/2011 22:17

Flubba, could you upload some photos (with scale) so that we can get a real feel for the products??

Smile
acsec · 06/10/2011 22:24

Flubba I currently have a wheat warmer round my neck that a friend bought me for Christmas last year - love it! I've seen them in the shops for £7 - £10 so could you sell them for £6/7? Would that be profitable?
